I just recently bought back into AoS after about a decade and went with FEC. My health took a turn for the worse so I haven't been able to sit at my hobby table let alone play a game so this was a great source of entertainment to keep me motivated while I recover. Great battle report! Love seeing Ushoran being fielded and see him clap! Just painted him recently and can't wait to run him on my list.
I just noticed a couple things:
- Wind of Shyish needs 2 units. Select a unit WW 9" of AGW and teleport together.
- Deranged Transform can only go to units with wound char of 7 or less
- Primal Super Cast stops you from casting more spells
- Curse of years don't get negated with a ward roll. You keep going with the number of successful dice.
For winds of shyish I'm not seeing anything that prevents the AGH from choosing itself. In which case it and itself can be picked up and moved.
@@piffling2238 pick 1 friendly Flesh-eater Courts unit that can fly and is wholly within range and visible to the caster. Remove this unit and the unit you picked from the battlefield and set them up again more than 9" from all enemy units and wholly within 9" of each other.
@@zano_korellio yup. And all units are wholly within range of themselves.
@@piffling2238 The rules implies two units from the get go. Even the last part of "neither unit can move in the following movement phase".

there is an FAQ so that you can't ward during Arkhans spell and take away dice you ward. You finish all the rolls with the dice and then ward afterwards.
Yes, I screwed that up. I confidently told Michael there is a FAQ that I CAN do that, and was sorely mistaken. One day we will never make mistakes while we play 25 different armies LOL. Thanks alot for watching, we appreciate you. And thank you very much for being a member!!
Awesome game. That grand strategy would've loved some Fell Bats though. Relying on your opponent to kill all your battleline units in the early game is rough when they don't die very easily. I can think of a couple battle tactics they could've helped with too. Was fun to see that regiment instead though. Looking forward to seeing the other ones.

Great to see a regiment of renown on the table. However, I agree, the regiment did not add more value than a few packs of wolves and another vampire hero.
We firmly believe that there isn't a RoR that Soulblight needs. The RoR are fun, but Soulblight is just such a well oiled machine of an army, that there is always an in-army unit to get the job done. Thanks for taking time to comment and watch our videos! We appreciate you :)

Just learned about regiments of renown in this match. Anyone know where to read up on the way they work? I've been wanting to get Arkhan into a Soulblight army for awhile, so if today's Soulblight list is kosher for matched play, I'd love to read up on how to make it happen.

There is a book called Dawnbringers 4 which has all of the rules for Regiments of Renown. there is a special Regiment for every Mortarch Character (Ushoran, Katakros, Lady Olynder, Mannfred, Neferata, and Arkhan)
You can make a legal 2000 point list with Neferata, Mannfred and Arkhan. Seems like an awesome concept, if not very competitive.
I think what this Battle report really highlighted is just how cautious you have to be around Usharon lists running the 9 block of crypt horrors.
3 damage (or 4 on 6's) on the charge with the +1 to run and charging with Usharon will flatten almost anything.
If you want to juice it up even more running an abhorrent ghoul king with the grim garland for -3 bravery in combination with Ursharons last strike effect can result in some devastating alpha strikes if you manage to tag 2 or more units.
I like the idea of the bravery bomb :) Flesh Eaters have so many ways to play the game right now !
I am new to AOS , I have Soulblight gravelords. Like the video but I have A Q. in the beginning of round two I see the red Skeletons standing in one line. Should they not be in Coherence because they are more than 5 models? Regards Elco
The skeletons are on 25MM bases which is less than an inch. So each model on the end is within 1 inch of the next 2 models. This is the only base size where you can do this. Just for reference, there is a faq that changes model coherency from 5 to 6 models. So units like annihilators and kurnoth hunters can remain in coherency more easily. Go to warhammer community to download all of the most recent faqs for matched play and for the army you play. Those little changes can make a big difference. :) Thanks for the comment!
Since Carrion's call lets units move D6 in the end of them move phase, would that make it possible for the opponent to use redeploy?

You can redeploy after a normal move, run or retreat. A d6 move as result of spell is not classified as any of these 3 conditions. And it happens at the end of the movement phase :) hope that helps :)
Also for zombie dragon shooting you can find out how many shots you have before you all out attack!

Would you be able to count the wounds down instead of up? Makes it easier for us to see how much more damage a unit has to take to die
We always count wounds suffered :) We will try to be more vocal about wounds remaining in future reports though :)

How is arkhan +3 to cast and unbind? I already hate him and if there is some sneaky way to get him to +3 I might have a stroke.

Hey. Great so see. Vamps. 56:21 why only 1 attack with Arkhan. He has more. The mount can attack too. Or was is because of range? But arkhan could have piled in? So 1 attack with Zefet-Kar. One attack with Khenach-an. And then the claws and the ghost daggers
That was after his pile in. When he destroyed the terrain feature, I jumped out of garrison as far away from him as possible. He only had the staff in range after his pile in ;)

Unfortunately no :) This is stated in the last sentence of the spell text
So he couldnt have charged t2?
In t2 he came out of reserve. He was eligible to charge. You are eligible to charge after teleport spells also, you just cannot move in the movement phase 😉
You keep rolling on Curse of Years, it is not stopped by saving the MW. Also, if you super cast because of Primal, you are done casting.

Good to know! The one time he activated in this match up, he was plus to wound thanks to hoarfrost, but I did give him deranged transformation in t2. Now I know better. Thanks :)
Another battlereport I was really looking forward to, ruined by 💩 🎲 🎲 🎲…. It’s happening to me in my games to! It’s literally ruining warhammer for me. I know dudes say “it’s a dice game”. However… when your opponent tells you every game that the dice cost you the game…. It gets tiring.
I get it, I also got the will Wheaton curse. I don't play to kill my opponent any more, just go for the objectives and expect your units to die. It's a different way to approach the game and play, but you can get results. Think of it as a challenge, the world has given you a handicap because you'd be too good otherwise. You got this!
The odds are (literally) that it’s not dice coating you the games. I’d say opponents just say that because it’s the easiest thing to say to someone that’s non-commital - and unless they’re confident to deliver feedback/you’re actively receptive to it they’re unlikely to feel comfortable deep diving

Thanks all for the feedback! We hope you are enjoying the videos :) Michael normally doesn't play Soulblight, and I think he did a great job fielding them. A few activations gone differently could have easily swung the game in his favor.
You must first understand luck is a skill. You have made yourself believe that you have bad luck with the dice, therefore, you roll poorly. Have faith, no more negative thoughts. You ARE going to roll well.
