First Time Viewer! Great Video! Both the Tremor and the Power Wagon are great trucks! Completely Agree with your analysis of the Tremor and the Power Wagon. I ordered a 2022 F350 Lariat 7.3L Tremor with the Warn winch, Power Deployable Running Boards, etc....actually, all but two options. The Power Wagon needs a slight lift...not too much to mess up the "Center of Gravity"...but enough to run 35 inch or 37 inch tires. The off-road capabilities could be improved on the Tremor by changing to Carli suspension with Fox or King shocks and adding the optional Deaver rear leaf packs. I wonder how many comments / questions that will cause ------> "Why buy the Tremor Package"? In short, it is still a good value.
Honestly I'd go F-150 Tremor! Similar payload, towing and tire size to the 3/4 ton Power Wagon with a shorter wheel base, better turning circle (trail turn assist), better fuel economy, and much better handling! I'm also hoping for a PowerBoost hybrid option. It's not as capable as a Super Duty Tremor, but in many ways more capable then a Power Wagon.
Dude - seriously great video with NO BIAS at all (NBC and the others could learn from you) - I love the color of your Tremor the best. I have a 20 F250 FX4 w/ the Godzilla engine - WHAT a beast - and for so many reasons for me, much better than the diesel option. I have done a couple of mods - 1.5" front lift as the front was sagging at about 30K miles, then some simple flat black 18" Method wheels w/ Toyo AT iii's ... I have about 43K miles on this now (I do about 48K a year) and a super happy with this truck. It is mostly purposeful - and I mean it gets good mileage for what it is, is very capable to tow, haul and off road, etc. Plus it looks good too ... keep up the good videos, really enjoy your honest perspective and I wish more would follow your lead. All the best to you ... btw, I am no young kid writing this (59+ and just beginning to enjoy all we have off road and outdoors in the USA)!
Excellent, honest, unbiased video. I’m a Ram guy, but I can’t disagree with anything you said or the choice you made. Good video, I agree the Tremor has more all around utilitarian use potential. If I’m going to spend that much money I want something that can tow my 40’ boat too. Both engine options for Ford have better long distance profiles as well.
I went with the 2021 75th anniversary Power Wagon. That truck seems like a good fit for you though, beautiful truck dude ! 👍 Congrats
meant to add, I know you mentioned you got the 7.3 gas, good choice ! But most people's " complaint " with the Power Wagon is it doesn't have a diesel option, don't want it, don't need it.
I like the power wagon but i need to tow a 13K lb fifth wheel with about 2700 lbs on the hitch. And the diesel means i rarely need to fuel up with a 36 foot fifth wheel attached.
Good video! Thx! Had a 2018 Power Wagon and it was a POS. I had lots of problems with it. I'll never buy another Mopar as a result. I have a 2020 ford Platinum Expedition Max which has incredible tech in that SUV and love it. Even though I wasn't fond of the 6 cyl engine at first, it works great in that heavy vehicle. I have a 2022 Ford Platinum Tremor on order. Can't wait to get it.

went with the 6.7 Tremor Lariat ultimate package. my Tremor's main purpose is to be able to tow my flat deck trailer with my Raptor on it into areas so I can pre run/ off road with my Raptor. regardless of gas vs diesel, the Tremor is just a better balance between offroad ability vs towing. the PW is no different then the Raptor in the sense it's a purpose built rig to do one single purpose above all else.
Great video! Very logical in your thought process. I’m in the same boat, however I just like the looks of the PW personally. But the 250 is the more practical choice for my life style.
Love the Fords and Rams these days...I did choose to order a 2022 Power Wagon (I currently own a 2019 Ram 1500 Limited and love it...I always wanted PW and finally ordered it. (I also Ordered a Carli Backcountry System, Method Wheels, and some 37s....) I only tow a 2500 pound trailer if its totally full (225 lbs tongue weight) I offroad a ton in the Nevada desert, exploring ghost towns and camping so I felt the offroad prowess would better suit me with the PW. The Interior on the Rams are 2nd to none too IMHO... I really like the Fords too...Great ride and video...Stay blessed!
I'd go with the Tremor. I give points to the Power Wagon due to the history. I just feel this suits my needs with Work and still being able to have fun. Great video.
The Godzilla engine is awesome, but they have a recall on the ten speed transmission. The ride in the Ford is rougher. I live out in the country, and I can't get a nice car, because of the roads. My 1500 GMC has never been a good vehicle for towing. The 2500 RAM will haul to it's limits, comfortably. It's less than the Ford, but the ride and interior throw it over the top, for me. Not to mention the reality that we live in today. If the SHTF, I want to be in the Ram Power Wagon. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these trucks. Once the trans problem is fixed in the Ford.
@@hd114ul7 That’s great to hear. I went back and forth between the 6.7 PS and 7.3 but in the end for the size trailer we’re pulling (24’ 5500lb) and way we will be using the truck (mostly short drives with 5-6 longer camping trips a year) the gas made more sense.
I ordered a 2022 F350 Lariat 7.3L Tremor on March 30th. The dealer said Ford will start building the 2022 models in June, with earliest deliveries in August. Dealer said to expect delivery between late August and mid September.
I have a 19 f250 platinum 6.7l best vehicle I have owned hands down. I came from a dodge 1500 and to be honest you can’t compare the two. I like the new dodges but the fords IMO still look better and the cab is huge compared to ram.
Very good video - best part - you took 6 minutes to say 6 minutes of stuff - not 25 minutes. Keep it up. I have a Chevy Colorado ZR2 and am wanting a full size truck. Leaning to the F-250. I offroad a lot, just not extreme off roading so have never need the front locker of the ZR2. You summarized my views exactly. Beautiful truck. It would have been nice to cut in some more interior shots.
Thanks, I appreciate it. I try not to waste folks time. Maybe I’ll do a very comprehensive walk through with footage of the whole thing inside and out people can skip around. Thanks for the feedback!
Power Wagon. I use it for more off road and it was about 10k cheaper equally equipped. I do like the exterior styling of the Tremor a lot and when they put the new F150 interior inside, it will be a beautiful truck.
Nice video. I would definitely choose the trimmer over the ram power wagon. I’m very interested in the 7.3 L gas in 10 speed. I think it’s going to be hard to beat for me moving down the road
I've had a lot of vehicles over the years. Ford service dept's are way way ahead of Chrysler / RAM with some exceptions of course. Ford reliability is a big factor and in my experience from SoCal to the Texas hill country to Kansas City, Ford excellent service dept's treat us better and are pretty straight. I like the Power Wagon interior most but the huge Ford interior is also quite hoity toity. F250/350s are more rugged especially the 10spd auto and 7.3 gas which will likely outlast the hemi. I can't make myself delighted to bash a brand new gorgeous piece of machinery over huge crunchy boulders anyway but otherwise the Super Duty Tremor is also highly capable offroad and built to take a beating for a very long time. Of course towing capacity and load carrying cap. is a major reason to ever buy an F350 in the first place. Both are way up there in cool factor. My 2 cents anyway.
@@OnDirt I’m on the fence right now on going with a solid axle up front, I really like the Ford F-250 though, the death wobble is what’s holding me back, if I do take the plunge it will definitely be the 7.3 gasser…..great content, keep it up 👍🏽
I am currently looking at making the same decision.. I only tow like 7-8k max mildly long distances a couple times a year. Other than that, just daily driver for normal stuff. Do you think the 7.3 gas is more than enough for that?
I believe so. My fiancé’s horse trailer is about 7k and we tow it 5hrs or so half a dozen times a year absolutely no problem. I daily my truck as well, it’s been doing great.
Don't forget, the F-250 Tremor and F-350 Tremor have the same identical suspension, the only difference between the two is the badge on the fender, and the stickers on the B pillar. So where the F-350 Tremor is rated to haul over 4000 lbs. the F-250 is derated on it's numbers but only for that sticker!
Sean, a very good video. I chose hands down my 2019 PW over all others. My biggest choice was between the Tradesman PW or the full-on expensive graphic riddled PW. However, I do appreciate the Tremor it's what Ford needed to do.
Tremor for my needs. I think the Tremor looks better and it's payload capabilities make it an easy pick for me. Can you tell me what the height is to the top of the Hawk with it mounted on your Tremor? Thanks, keep the videos coming, there's not enough You Tube videos with FWC's on these Ford HD's!
I wish Ram could figure out how to fit a diesel in the 2500 power wagon, they claim something about the winch being in the way, but I have seen a winch on non power wagon 2500s.
I would go with the Tremor, but I hate the Ford Stickers. I do not understand why anyone would get the Power Wagon. I really like it’s looks and features, but what good is getting a heavy duty truck that does not substantially outperform a half ton?
simple.the power wagon is a better daily driver when it comes to ride quality over a ford super duty.i drive s/d trucks every day at work.not comfortable.nobody buys a power wagon for payload/towing.
I went with a PW for its capability off road and designed my build around its payload limits. Ram does.have the Rebel now with a diesel that competes with the Tremor. PW rides much better off road and that is where I plan to spend the majority of my time. Your reasons for Tremor are all legitimate.
Ins cos will say inner city driving is the worst road conditions most drive on, and one can be "off road" in bad weather or city driving very easily funny enuff. In the end all comes down to personal choice and usage case plus cost and ones wallet.
Tremor for sure for me. I need to tow and haul people and stuff. And the new 7.3 has soooo much potential. They’ve already made 1000+ hp versions. It’s actually old school push rod and will outlast that hemi for sure. Plus the Ford is just all around better built. Great vid new sub!
I'm not big on decals either. However, there are exceptions. I still have the black and red outlined decals on my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock - Tank color. Jeep built 368 Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock in the Tank color that year. I have the "Configuration Tree"...and mine is One of Two built globally. Therefore, I will never remove the decals from the hood. I ordered a 2022 F350 Lariat 7.3L Tremor on March 30th. I don't care for the Tremor name.....just like the truck. Probably will not remove the decal right away on the Tremor...but most likely will at some point...not keeping the decal there to show everyone the truck has the Tremor Package because I live in a remote area. I might have an FXT5 (Ford Xtreme Truck) decal made and replace the Tremor decal with that...just to be different and make people think and ask questions...ha! The F150 Raptor is a neat truck for some...but Class 1 trucks are not for me. Definitely do not like the Raptor name.....and the optional graphics on the Raptor look terrible.....something a little boy might like and plaster on his truck.
Okay so you say that Tremor makes you up pay for the winch, but don't kid your self. Every Power Wagon owner paid for their winch, even the ones who didn't want one, or will never use one. PW doesn't give you the option to be winch free for less money. Also your Tremors front differential will lock and it works in 4HI. The Ram is 4LO only and won't engage under load or while turning. A stock Tremor will also fit 37's.
It’s true that ram passes that cost on to the consumer, but the comparable PWs seem to be a little cheaper than the fords. Again, I bought the Ford so you can tell which one I like more! Good point on 37s
@@OnDirt it is less expensive because it is an older design and they cheap out on things like the AAM axles instead of Dana's, steel body panels instead of aluminum, and a flimsy pig iron frame. The Tremor's not offered with the base V8 yet the PW only has the base V8. You certainly made the right choice spending a little more money.
Im a ram guy. Ram has best tranny and interior and offroad. Ford has best motor and dont pay a towing penalty with tremor pkg. For me ford is the answer. But wish ford would get better interior already
Why can't people just say this is the truck I wanted on these videos? Instead of trying to justify it with 'off-road capabilities' or towing capacity or this truck has 22.3 more HP than . Basically any 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck over the past 20 years has more than enough capability for just about everyone. Yes I have a 2021 Superduty Lariat, yeah I looked at the spec sheet, yeah it's cool it say off road and I'll take it down a dirt road and a few farm lanes but that's something any other truck with decent tires can do. Pull my fifth wheel camper, my 1992 Chevy 1-ton pulled it great too. True off-roading (mudding) or rock crawling? I'd build something much better for those tasks at half the cost. You are in a position you can afford an 80k truck, you don't have to make up excuses for it.
I wasn’t trying to justify my purchase to anyone. I did compare the specific features of two trucks I considered buying after ultimately picking one. I even brought up that I thought one just looked better, and always pointed out depending on your on situation on could be better than the other for you. I would have liked to have watched the video I made while in the process of buying my own truck.
This is why I went with a Power Wagon. I needed the lockers and winch for some of the places I frequent and one of the first things I did was put 35 inch KM3's. The Gladiator rubicon has all the features I need too but is too small. The Power Wagon base price is also cheaper than the Tremor. The Tradesman Power Wagon is probably one of the best deals on the market if you need a work truck and serious offroad capability.
Nice. You make a good point on price, especially since now you can only get the tremor on the lariat trim or higher. I guess it still depends if you need more off road capability or payload/towing
Tremor. The Tremor is a Jack of all trades which it does all really well. The Power Wagon can do one thing really well but it really doesn’t work as a pickup truck very well at all (poor towing and payload numbers). The Tremor will do 95% of what the Power Wagon will do off road but when you factor in that most PW owners are not using their truck to 100% of its off road ability, the two trucks are even closer in 4X4 prowess. Now factor in the longevity of the two trucks. You see a lot more older Super Duty trucks on the road than you see Dodges. Dodge trucks are also notorious for body rust while the Ford is all aluminum. Finally with the updated 2022 Ford Super Duty interior, it is finally nicer on the inside than the Dodge.
Doesn't have a body lift. 1/2" taller springs in the front and 17-19 blocks in the rear. In the Tremor the 250 and 350 are exactly the same except you get a higher payload sticker with the 350. Ps. i also have a Tremor with 7.3 in rapid red (350).
I just read the diesel 250 has the 350 rear spring pack (3 spring plus helper spring) but the gas 250 has a lighter pack (2 spring plus helper pack). I guess the difference is the diesel requires option 535 heavy trailer tow pack which is optional on gas version. So the gas 250 can go both ways. How do you like the 7.3? I’ve only ever had diesels but that engine has me very interested.
I currently own a 1 ton dually. Was thinking of a 250 Tremor with the 7.3 for a softer ride, but if the 250 rides the same as the 350 then I might as well go with the 350. Thanks for the info.
@@OnDirt that's good. I have a 29' travel trailer to tow around TX and up to Ouray, Co. I hope it will be enough power. Colorado is only once a year. Plus the Tremor looks so dam good. I'm gettin the sunroof too. Glad you got yours with cab lights. Real trucks have cab lights
I'm referring to off road obstacles, not high performance desert racing. Solid front axle, front locker, and disconnecting sway bar make the power wagon more capable wheeling obstacles than the Raptor. The Raptor and the Ram TRX are unparalleled as high speed desert trucks.
Which would you pick, Tremor or Power Wagon?
Absolutely the Tremor

Not to mention the reality that we live in today. If the SHTF, I want to be in the Ram Power Wagon. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these trucks. Once the trans problem is fixed in the Ford.
Fair points for sure. Luckily my specific truck has dodged that recall, but something to consider.
Great video comparison. Ordered a F250 Tremor 7.3 last week. I know I’m in for a long wait but hopefully will be worth it.
Had 2 modified Powerstrokes. Now have a 7.3 gasser. No regrets.
Thank you! I think you are going to love your new 7.3.
@@15Jeep that’s great news. Congrats on your order!
Two questions, what kind of mileage do you get with the Godzilla V8? Also, which body lift did you use?
15mpg, down to 12 if I dog it or put the camper on it. The lift is the tremor package from factory.
Where’s the truck camper ? That’s why we are all subscribed
That is a fair question. I'm working on a new camper video now. Life has been busy! Thank for subscribing.
Is f150 tremor a good buy ? Or would u need the 250?
I needed the F250 for the payload capacity, but if you don't need that then the f150 tremor is a good truck.
Thanks man! 3.5L EcoBoost or wait for the V8 ? Tough call right ?
I have a 19 f250 platinum 6.7l best vehicle I have owned hands down. I came from a dodge 1500 and to be honest you can’t compare the two. I like the new dodges but the fords IMO still look better and the cab is huge compared to ram.
The cab size might be the biggest selling point for me, and those platinums are also extremely comfortable
Hell of a truck. Tremor all the way! 🙌🏼
Agreed!
Are the crickets and grasshoppers the size of birds out there? Definitely sound like it
lol they may as well be. I had no idea how loud they were until I got home to edit the video.
Looking forward to that interior as well!
I would have taken the PW in a heartbeat, but 1500 lbs payload just was not enough (still want the PW though)!!
Nice video. I would definitely choose the trimmer over the ram power wagon. I’m very interested in the 7.3 L gas in 10 speed. I think it’s going to be hard to beat for me moving down the road
Thank you!
Ford FTW! 😎👍
Agreed!
Curious, did you ever compare the GMC Sierra 2500 AT4 to the Tremor when you did your research?
They’re awesome trucks but I didn’t really consider them. Mostly because they didn’t come with bigger tires and lift.
Well said.
Have you had an issues with the death wobble? And have you heard of any of the newer model f250’s experiencing the death wobble??
I’ve heard of the issue but I have never experienced it myself.
@@OnDirt I’m on the fence right now on going with a solid axle up front, I really like the Ford F-250 though, the death wobble is what’s holding me back, if I do take the plunge it will definitely be the 7.3 gasser…..great content, keep it up 👍🏽
@@aldotamez3140 Thanks!
The 7.3 will pull that with ease. You will be just fine.
I've easily pulled 20k with my 250 7.3 tremor.
Beautiful truck, quality video
Thank you!
I like both and have a Power Wagon. Yeah, if you are sporting lower profile tires, the Tremor is probably a better option.
Knowing ram, I wouldn’t be surprised if the PW came with 37s from factory to one up Ford. Wouldn’t that be something.
@@OnDirt I can't believe the PW comes with 33's. When I bought my 2020, I drove straight to discount tire for an upsize. Haha!
7.3L GODZILLA Emblem Decals... found
They have them for the Doors and Tailgate
they are on Amazon under
7.3L GODZILLA DECALS
Cool
Don't forget, the F-250 Tremor and F-350 Tremor have the same identical suspension, the only difference between the two is the badge on the fender, and the stickers on the B pillar. So where the F-350 Tremor is rated to haul over 4000 lbs. the F-250 is derated on it's numbers but only for that sticker!
I'm not sure this is true.
Sean, a very good video. I chose hands down my 2019 PW over all others. My biggest choice was between the Tradesman PW or the full-on expensive graphic riddled PW.
However, I do appreciate the Tremor it's what Ford needed to do.
Thanks, I feel you with comparing the plain to graphics PWs. Both great trucks!
Its just over 8 feet high in total with the camper on the truck.
@@OnDirt Thank you!
I wish Ram could figure out how to fit a diesel in the 2500 power wagon, they claim something about the winch being in the way, but I have seen a winch on non power wagon 2500s.
That would be one heck of a truck for sure
I would go with the Tremor, but I hate the Ford Stickers. I do not understand why anyone would get the Power Wagon. I really like it’s looks and features, but what good is getting a heavy duty truck that does not substantially outperform a half ton?
At least the stickers can come off !
simple.the power wagon is a better daily driver when it comes to ride quality over a ford super duty.i drive s/d trucks every day at work.not comfortable.nobody buys a power wagon for payload/towing.
Does your headlight have daytime running lights?
Yes they do
Few people off-road either of these trucks. At $60-90k nobody scratching up those paint jobs.
Idk, I see people still out there sending it. Maybe most don’t but some do. I don’t wheel my truck, but it already has pin striping from tight trails.
Tremor all day every day, nice truck!
Thanks!!
I went with a PW for its capability off road and designed my build around its payload limits. Ram does.have the Rebel now with a diesel that competes with the Tremor. PW rides much better off road and that is where I plan to spend the majority of my time. Your reasons for Tremor are all legitimate.
Sounds like you have a nice setup
i went with the 2021 power wagon.i couldn't even find a tremor to test drive.no f250 gasser in western canada.
They are definitely difficult to find, congrats on your new truck!
Thank you sir!
That transmission won’t last longer than that zf8 speed!
Powerwagon all the way
Nice!
Actually, the 4runner and the Land Cruiser both have better payload than Power Wagon...
Interesting!
Is your truck levelled?
It comes with a small lift from factory
Take off the decals. Don't understand why ford does that. Good vid.
Haha fair point, thank you!
If you want legit off road then PW. PW is Heavy Off roading. They're not in the same class honestly. But for a daily soft off roading then tremor.
Right, and for heavy duty truck use (towing and hauling) the ford is much better.
Please step on that cricket so I can hear what your saying
lol, sorry. They really came out for this one and I didn't notice them at the time.
Why not compare it to a ram 2500 “off-road” package
Like what?
Im a ram guy. Ram has best tranny and interior and offroad. Ford has best motor and dont pay a towing penalty with tremor pkg. For me ford is the answer. But wish ford would get better interior already
I agree with you on the interior, I like rams better
Who is going to rock crawl in a pickup anyway? Might as well get a Jeep or a Bronco. Shorter wheelbase, approach, and departure angles.
It’s a fair point, some people do wheel them though. To each their own.
All good points, thank you
No.
I love my 7.3 2021
Congrats on the new truck!
@@OnDirt thanks
F-350 Tremor
Reason I went with Tremor , its not a Dodge . drops mike
Lol
Doesn't have a body lift. 1/2" taller springs in the front and 17-19 blocks in the rear. In the Tremor the 250 and 350 are exactly the same except you get a higher payload sticker with the 350. Ps. i also have a Tremor with 7.3 in rapid red (350).
Wouldn’t the rear spring pack be different on the 350? Or are they the same.
@@sw5334 exactly the same on the tremor
I just read the diesel 250 has the 350 rear spring pack (3 spring plus helper spring) but the gas 250 has a lighter pack (2 spring plus helper pack). I guess the difference is the diesel requires option 535 heavy trailer tow pack which is optional on gas version. So the gas 250 can go both ways. How do you like the 7.3? I’ve only ever had diesels but that engine has me very interested.
@@sw5334 Regular truck yes, but Tremor is exactly the same in 250/350. Been proven many times with guys comparing part numbers.
I currently own a 1 ton dually. Was thinking of a 250 Tremor with the 7.3 for a softer ride, but if the 250 rides the same as the 350 then I might as well go with the 350. Thanks for the info.
That 6.4 in tje PW will be ticking around 65k miles. I'm about to order a '22 XLT Tremor with 7.3l and 6 person seating
I’m loving my XLT!
Well I chose a tremor but thanks to ford, I don’t have one lol. They cancelled my order! 😑
Wow I’m sorry to hear that. I’m happy I was able to grab mine before the craziness
I go with ford I don’t like ram gas engine or transmission all need work i see it Daily
Ram looks way better lol. Dude didn't even get the LED lights ...
Yeah I feel like it should have came with LED lights, however I still prefer my ford for looks. Def a personal preference thing.

Power wagon for sure. All the fords I've owned were terrible.
Which Ford’s?

“The most capable off-road production truck in North America.” You familiar with the Raptor my man? Been around a minute.
I'm referring to off road obstacles, not high performance desert racing. Solid front axle, front locker, and disconnecting sway bar make the power wagon more capable wheeling obstacles than the Raptor. The Raptor and the Ram TRX are unparalleled as high speed desert trucks.
Any issues with the 7.3?
Zero issues, first two years and 36,000 miles
