The amount of colours that you have is absolutely gorgeous. The shades are so pretty. Makes me want to explore rainbow inspired projects now! Love your enthusiasm with the unboxing of the yarns too!

Wow what a beautiful prize, your going to have so much fun with that luxurious yarn. I loved the colours you held with the lovely apricot cone. That would be a sweater or a shawl for me. Whatever you choose I look forward to seeing your finished garments. So happy for you.

Thanks B! I still can’t believe it. I will definitely be showing whatever I decide to make.

Wow! Look at all that yarn! That's aweome. I think an ombre cardigan is a great idea. Check out the Spot sweater by Anne Ventzel, theres lots of versions on ravelry. I am also a loose knitter and always have to go down a couple of needle sizes and I find wooden or bamboo needles better for holding the more "slippery" yarns.

Hi Carin! The Spot sweater is a great idea! And on Ravelry, there were great examples of people who used multiple shades of yarn. I’ve added it to the bundle. Thanks so much!

Congratulations on winning that collection, You are one lucky gal to have all those luscious colours! Kaffe Fasssett is definitely your man when it comes to colours. All your ideas are great and you could probably do all of them over time. Arne and Carlos have a technique they do with Kid silk haze and Felted tweed to create a faux intarsia technique. The garment made in the Felted Tweed and then you add in the kid silk haze and knit the pattern motifs with the two yarns together. You get the design without the hassles of actual intarsia. Love the views of your home town. It;s always interesting to see other people's environments (I am in subtropical eastern Australia - very different). I like the mittens, I am currently knitting a Fair Island beanie with the same yarn. I find it interesting that they have a rounded top unlike the patterns of today which are wedge-shaped. The shawl is gorgeous and so is the yarn you spun. This is the first time I have come across your channel and I did enjoy it very much. Thanks you.

Hi Margaret, I am so very glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you so much for your kind words and thanks for the tip on faux intarsia from Arne and Carlos - I’ll have to look into it. If you live in sub-tropical eastern Australia, are you in Queensland? My husband is an Aussie from Canberra, and on our last trip there we visited my sister-in-law who was then living in Brisbane. It definitely felt like the tropics there in January!

@@YarnJourneys No I am in far north east New South Wales, not far from the Queensland border and most of my family is in or near Brisbane. I came to Nimbin in the mid l970s for the Aquarius Festival and I settled here. My marriage was breaking up and this was a good place to be. It definitely feels tropical in January, like living in the tropical house at the botanical gardens! I have been to Canberra once many years ago and my son and I plan to go there when we do our big road trip south (was to have been around now but life has meant it has to be postponed).

Ah, my husband says he has heard of Nimbin but not been there himself! I very much enjoyed traveling in Australia, and I hope to be back soon. Best wishes to you!

Good question! The one thing I can think of is to switch needle material. Are you using metal needles? I find that wooden or bamboo needles make working with slippery fibers like mohair silk easier. The material grips the yarn a bit better so that the stitches stay on the needle. Or you could try textured metal needles like Addi Ewenicorn or similar. I hope that helps! Let me know how it goes.
