I love how both WWE and AEW are actually okay with wrestlers going back and forth and deep down there’s no hatred between the two companies it’s great to see wrestling almost getting back to the way it was

He does it a lot. It’s a social anxiety thing. A lot of people say he doesn’t even really drink anything when he’s holding a coffee cup at press conferences, it’s just to help him focus & not get nervous.
I think what AEW is doing is great for wrestling. No matter how much you like McDonald's, having a Wendy's nearby is always nice. It's the same with wrestling. Having another show to watch and another way of presenting pro wrestling is great for the fans, great for the wrestlers, great for everybody!

@@EmperorTaebok he's done better than any wrestling company has ever done in 3 years of existence. Full Gear 2021 had a 7 million dollar gate. That's unheard of in this day and age if you haven't been around for 70 years. Speaking of which, good luck with Vince winning the Royal Rumble.

"barely 10k people". how many wrestling company has drawn 10k people in the last 40 years champ? The monopolized juggernaut and WCW for exactly 3 years between 1996-1999. That's it. Literally no one else has drawn anything more since the advent of cable. how many 10k gates was AWA drawing in the 80s champ? How many 10k gets was Cornette drawing with SMW, champ? How many 10k gates was Russo drawing with 10 years in TNA, champ? Maybe if you move your imaginary metrics goalposts in the parking lot, we'll never be able to score a goal.

How can anyone argue that competition isn't good for the business of professional wrestling? The Monday Night Wars were the high point & the numbers prove it. Is AEW there yet? No. But they are in the process & offering something different to attract a different crowd. They have a built a solid, enthusiastic, and already loyal fan base. If they keep putting out content at this level, there is certainly a chance to for things to escalate to that level. No one believed in Turner in the 90's until it was too late. While they ultimately lost, the fans won. I hope we get something similar in the coming years. Thanks Tony!

His heel run (never saw any of them except Cody before) along with the Bucks heel run have shot them to the top of my list of all time favs. I was wondering the same thing. Especially since Cody isn't there anymore lol.

He is building a brand as in his initial pitch he said that i will lose money in the first few years then will tend towards profit in new deal with tv company.. also in new reports he is not in loss anymore and has even made back the money which he paid for roh ..so business is booming

Hey, being an alternative isn't the worst thing either.
In the US WWE is still the far #1, but you're a bit naïve to believe it's the only market. AEW has, so far, trumped WWE in both Canada and the UK. They're also in the markets of Japan, Mexico, and Brazil -- and in the process of entering India.
It would take many years to be stiff competition, but AEW shouldn't be written off, IMO.
According to WWE themselves, they are.

And in the years to come I bet it will get a lot closer.
Yes - they are nowhere near as polished and cater to the real IWC more than they probably should (everyone walking around with indy belts -random big name indy wrestlers showing up for championship matches that only the real hard core fans know)
But the wrestling matches themselves are every bit as good as - and often much better- than WWE.
Last night's crazy ladder match,for example - with The Elite and Death Triangle makes most WWE ladder matches look like everyone is moving in slow motion by comparison!
WWE has better characters,stories and writing -
But AEW has the best wrestler in the world ( Kenny Omega)
The best tag team( Young Bucks)
and the best heel in Wrestling ( MJF)
So yup - they can compete!

Compared to what was normal in 1998, sure.
It's a different world now, a different business, hell, even a different pop culture. It is what it is.
It sucks because aew and it's fans swearing they better than wwe instead of enjoying both.... Because it's different doesn't mean it's better

That's subjective. It's a great show and I've looked forward to it every week since I started watching 2 years ago.
Ratings aren't everything though. They got an audience and PPVs are being bought.

AEW's rise? Well, the TV ratings and UA-cam views have been the same and even trending lower lately. Not to mention the inconsistent attendance in the arenas. AEW has some good talent, it's just not being used the best way. Tony really needs to hire an experienced booker to help the promotion grow.
