Your method worked for me!!!!!! WOW!! Before watching your video I tried three or four methods, none of them worked 100%. Yours was the only one that cleaned my stainless steel kettle perfectly clean!!! I used the Cascase dish-washer tablets -- followed your directions....came back 30 min later -- it was like 85% clean -- and then all I had to do was take a paper towel to remove the 15% - which was just seared in there -- I really didn't think it would ever come out perfect.... but it did!!!! LOOKS BRAND NEW!!! So THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an amazing method! It worked for mine, which would have been impossible for me to get done as well if I scoured it. The gunk came off the sides on my first try, and to finish it up and have it done perfectly, I did it a second time. PERFECTION. Just great!

Sam - You are a genius! Used your method on a 5-litre coffee urn that was so coked-up it looked disgusting, and it came out just like new. So much easier than messing around with vinegar and baking soda, and twice as effective. Thank you x 100!

My church has over 50 very large Bunn pump style coffee carafes that are used in the Sunday School classes and after they are used they are just typically rinsed out and turned upside down to dry out. Needless to say that over time these carafes start to get the coffee stain buildup and are near impossible to get this brown yucky gunk out. The opening is only an inch or so in diameter and there is no good way to get in and scrub it. I too thought we were going to have to throw them out and buy new ones. Thank the Lord I found your UA-cam video on how to clean the pots with little or no effort. I tried it on one and was amazed at how brand new the inside of the pot and the stem looked. I showed the ladies on the Kitchen Patrol how to do it and now all the pots are brand new again. We saved a ton of money not having to buy new ones using this method. Thank you so much for figuring this technique out. IT WORKS!!!

After pouring out what looked like dead black bugs (yuck) i rinsed out the pot thoroughly then brewed a batch of coffee. The wonderful taste of my coffee was restored! Also, i noticed that my mug (i usually use a waffle house ceramic mug) no longer had a residue. Amazing and thanks again.

@@thesimplyorganized Dear SO: As a spelling tip, the word you want to spell correctly is "Aw," not "Awe." Awe is something else, meaning dread, veneration or wonder, as in "I stood in awe of the king." On the other hand, "Aw" is used to express mild disappointment, gentle entreaty, or real or mock sympathy or sentiment. Just saying....

Thank You, Works like a charm :). I have been using the Powered Dish Soap because that's what we have. Same thing except dump about a 1/4 cup of powder and fill with boiling hot water and let sit for 60 minutes, if the pot is super gunked up add a little more powder and let it sit an extra 30 minutes for 1 1/2 hours. Also one thing I found is that if you have old coffee and lime or other hard water build up and you tried Cleaning Pads and or Heavy duty Cleansers you most likely scratched the inside surface and it will attract buildup faster in a short amount of time, I did it! So consider a new pot or maybe it's time for a new machine. This time if you stick to powder or Pods to clean at regular intervals it should last for years.

Thank you for this! This works great. I wanted to add.... I used your same procedure/idea to clean the cap for the pot. As everyone is aware, when the coffee is made it drips through the cap to reach the pot. I had previously tried to clean out the cap as best as possible, running hot water through it and shaking it vigorously when it was filled with water, shaking out the water and any particles that may come out with the forceful shaking. Now, this is where it gets a bit gross... Knowing how dark the pot gets over time with the accumulation of coffee stains, think about what must be going on inside the confines of the cap! I don't even like to think what must have been in there, as pot after pot of coffee was running through it.
What I did to clean it was to use something into which I could pour boiling water. In my particular case, I used a 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup. I squirted some Cascade gel dishwasher soap into the bottom of the measuring cup, filled it about 2/3 full with boiling water. I stirred it a bit with a spoon in order to be sure that the dishwasher soap was distributed throughout the boiling/hot water. Then, I placed the cap of the pot into the hot water. The cap wants to float in the water, so I took a smaller, 2-cup Pyrex measuring cup and placed it on top of the plastic cap so as to keep it submerged into the hot water/Cascade mixture. I left them all sitting in the sink, with the cap pushed under the hot water in the larger Pyrex measuring cup, and my wife and I left to run some errands. We came back a couple of hours later and the water had turned to almost just as dark as a normal cup of coffee! No telling what kind of build-up was inside the cap. I then ran water over and into and through the cap, shaking it vigorously in order to swish the water around inside the cap, manipulating the rubber gasket to also flush around it, clearing the cap of any remaining debris and to clear out the dishwater soap/water mixture. I made sure to run water through it numerous times in order to fully clear the inside of the cap.
I did also use your process to clean out the stainless steel pot (also using liquid/gel Cascade) and it worked great. But, I wanted to add my having cleaned out the cap, as what is going on inside that cap is not visible. But, rest assured, there is stuff building up inside it and you want to clean it out. I am going to try to go through this same process... with both the pot and the cap... maybe every couple of months or so.
    Thank you, again!
