- This is the first episode of the Team Races to Places, Race to Dakar 2020 : Africa Eco Race Rally media project. We will follow Lyndon Poskitt, Mike Johnson, Joey Evans, Greg Raaff and Matt Sutherland in their quest to reach the podium in Dakar, Senegal and bring you a daily 20 minutes video of the race, as it unfolds. Thanks to over 600 supporters on Kickstarter we will live the Race to Dakar from within, the Dakar rally raid as it was intended by Thierry Sabine.
In this episode we take a look at the preparations, how the bikes, even if new, are completely taken apart, inspected and rebuild.
Para nuestros amigos que hablan Español, hay subtítulos disponibles.
It must be so satisfying to (re)build an entire bike from scratch with new consumables on the way. Very satisfying to watch aswell mate!
Great to see this side of the story. I love it.
It gets me dreaming of doing such wild things later myself, while putting a new seatcover on my 30 year old NX 250 :D
NX250 - what a great bike that is!
Love all this behind-the-scenes stuff!
Here we go again, following the whole Team Lyndon this time, It'll be something to look out for every day when I come home from work. Good luck and may Lyndon win :)
DAKAR is just around the corner!! Will be watching Lyndon and now the whole team, man this is going to be fun. Thanks for the ride Lyndon, Cheers

Welcome Stan! Hope you can be as famous as your Brothers Basil and Rex! Mean function gym workout you got going there Lyndon Poskit! Love the content as always! 🤙🏼🤘🏼🏍
Awesome Lyndon, I know Joey and Greg are itching to meet up and get a spin on those beautiful machines👍🏻
"...as good as new"; I'd say 'better' than new :-). Your preparation is awe-inspiring. Hope all goes as planned.
What a great idea Lyndon to take us along from the very start so we can appreciate all the hard work and preparation that goes into a race like this, it also helps build the tension and excitement by the time the race starts we will all be bouncing off the walls with anticipation looking forward to the next video already.👍🏼🤓
Steve Preston agree with that! I might just start counting the days until race start with the team! 😂
Great to see all the preparatory work and the level of attention to detail. Thank you.
And Merry Christmas everyone!
Awesome beginning to the series! Thank you Lyndon and crew! Good luck at the race!!
So excited for this! The Dakar series was excellent and really gave us a really interesting perspective that we don't normally get to see. Good luck to you and the boys Lyndon, ON IT!
Good luck this year ! I loved following your story of past races .
Another Dakar with Races to Places! Cant wait! One day I hope to see you there once I've had the all the steel removed. Best of luck Lyndon!
Love this the attention to detail in builds is excellent. Can’t wait to see how this progresses. But what was the modification done to the frame? Lugs to have a more secure loom or for some additional equipment?
Best of luck lyndon! Eager for more and to learn some riding skills from you. Much love from kenya 🇰🇪
Courage Lyndon, c'est bien parti pour ce nouveau Paris-Dakar 2020, vous êtes un battant et un pilote très capable...
Nice to see the preparation that goes on behind the scenes, so much work going on! Love the strip & rebuild aspects. Great job Lyndon & team. 👍 Looking forward to following you all the way to Dakar! 💪💯
Nice one Lyndon! It makes us all appreciate the amount of time, effort and expense it takes to run a team.
Well done Lyndon...looking forward to this series!
Awesome first episode, it is great to see the detail you put in to the prep, and the sheer scale of it for this event with a team of 5 to support and manage. Quick question, the old man was welding the frame - was that damage related, adding strength/bracing or something else. It was a bit of a tease not to elaborate.
Hey Lyndon, we're all excited for media coverage of the Africa Eco Race. I am sure this media project will be as good if not better than last year's Dakar coverage. I've been following your channel ( Races 2 Places ) and videos for past 2 years or so. I finally pulled the trigger on my first KTM. I guess watching all your videos inspired me join the Orange team. I hope your sponsor KTM is listening. Keep up the good work. Kam, USA
@@lyndonposkitt Oh wow ! I didn't know that. Well they ( KTM ) should be your big sponsor. I hope you're listening KTM.
I hope you and your team the best on upcoming Africa Eco Race. We're all waiting to see your the magical experience you create. Happy Holiday mate !

Great video, great to see the prep. I'd love to know how to prepare, fitness-wise for a race like that. I hope to start amateur rallies next year and will be starting a 5 day a week fitness program... just gotta figure out how to populate it!
Best of luck with the rest of the prep!
How is the rally riding going? :D
Can't wait to follow you during the race! Good luck man!
White frame looks great!

Did you rebuild engine ?
Lucky Me, found (subscribed) your channel. Looking forward to this eclectic band of Moto-head gypsies. 👍🏼 😎 🇺🇸

Lyndon Poskitt = LEGEND
wow very interesting video track !!! Forza Lyndon!!!!
Great production......Love it my man!!
Haha my second name is Stanley so thanks for naming your bike after me lol 😆 😄 😅
What modifications were made to the frame Lyndon?
Why do you have a team of racers and how does that work? Do you combine times or just want one of the team members to win?
Cool vid, can't wait for all the others
I’m ready on this end.
So stoked for this race!
Need some custom parts? I can build something over Christmas if you like.
Love a breakdown and rebuild video, Lyndon. Stephen Hendry has let himself go.
really enjoyed that, thanks.
Can you say what mods were done on your frame???
good preparation!!
Great video.. you always inspire me to get off my computer and go work on my bike. But it never seems to turn out as good as your work does. Maybe I'll finally get that K&N air filter in today.
looking forward to the series pal, have a good Christmas n new year
Thank you man.
Hey mate, in all your episodes you never busted a fork seal. What’s your secret? I always thought those neoprene fork covers trapped dirt and water and scored the fork lowers.
Great to see and hear more about the team.
VERY NICE CAN ACTIN YOUR PREPARATION!
Did you have to leave all those Dakar inspection stickers on? I mean, was it necessary for anything after the Dakar itself?
Do you not have a heater in your workshop? What’s up with the coats and beanies? 😜
Awesome
Why is it the same time as Dakar?
Hi i like you activity @rally dakar
why star nuts for the engine bolts and not allen like the frame bolts? requires carrying more tools I would have thought?
Are you entered in the malle moto class of dakar 2020?
Can you explain why you pull apart a brand new bike?
Is this before or after the heart attack? Leg end!
I was wondering what fuel system you were gonna use.
What was your reason for fuel injection over the carby ???.
P P P P P P P You seem to have that well covered Good Luck
First one down cheers !!
Thank for traslating into spanish!!!
With you building all the bikes for the team - how do you make sure they're fitted to all the riders - just adjusting the handlebars or are there more "mods"?
I'm 198cm and in the process of adjusting a dual purpose bike to fit - so far quite the challenge for me.
@@lyndonposkitt Thanks for the reply! I understand what you mean, but I guess in my case adjusting to the bike would be silly simply because the bike is too small. The handlebars end up way too close to my body when I stand up and I lose control of it.
I bet it's all a lot simpler when everyone is more average sized and not 6ft6in. Or if the bikes are larger to start with. Which I believe the KTMs are.. Next bike will be either a KTM or Husqvarna. Until then I gotta make the most of my DR650.
Best of luck in the race for the whole team! I can't wait to follow all the action! Thanks for all your work !!
@Lyndon Poskitt, dude give us some details on what bike you and the others are using and the mods!
Loving it already!
Looks like you weren’t able to get a team bike because of social media...that sucks but thank you
Have you a Motorex Store at your Garage?
Yes !!!!!!!!! Subtitules !!!!!
Why didn't you participate in Arabic Dakar 2020 ?
Can anybody say me the specs from Lyndons Bike?
Will the LC4 require a complete rebuild?
Like this vídeos. Keep on 💪
Where I can buy air filter like your?
You do not join dakar 2021 ?
Poor old Tim couldn’t get a word in edgeways 😆
👍
So this race happens at the same time as dakar?? How can we follow this race? Like videos of the race?
@@lyndonposkitt thank you. Have a great race!
Personally I find it a bit stupid to have it on at the same time. Could have more people competing if it weren't.
Then again. That could be the idea: It flies under the radar so there's less chance of incidents (It's North Africa after all).
What model bike?
you got big tank, just drop another fp in it...
What leatherman do you take?
Ignore me! It’s the wave!
Look at all that Motorex stuff on the shelf. $1000’s.
“He’s got his knee braces on while welding” 🤣🤣🤣
Hello , please can you tell, wich Song of the end of the Video played? Thanks
