4 days during which pilots and engineers are working close together to find the best approach and setting in order to perform on the ground of Saudi Arabia, for the 2020 edition of Dakar.

Last time I watched Dakar was in 2006, Kamaz destroyed then and I'm happy to see they're still going hard today.

Amazing vehicles, how much fuel do these trucks hold
The 2021 model (the black long-nosed thing in the beginning) has Cummins 13-liter, 6-cylinder engine. It burns 100l/100km on the tarmac. 200l/100km on the sand. And it has a range of 500-1000km.
These trucks use the same engine.

In Stalin times in 30s Uolter Roytal with Ford team of workers created GAZ plant in Gorkiy town, also there were ZIL car plant in Moscow (ZIS) of that times, their engineers created concept of first KAMAZ model in the 70s, in WW2 times UAZ plant created like evacuation of GAZ plant to the East

Don't like the sound of the new DongFeng-Cummins straight-6 engines. The older Yamz 18.5-liter V8s sounder brutal, like a bear mauling a man to death.

Can anyone explain what is the logic behind racing these heavy vehicles when they can race with lighter vehicles?
Because there are classes for different vehicles in the Dakar Ralky
Its something that developed over earlier years, in the beginning the service trucks used to unofficially race each other and that developed into an official truck category for T4 and T5 that gave us race trucks, chase trucks and service trucks, the service trucks now don't race.

Im Tatra fan too,,but Kamaz is pretty capable truck and Ruski are dam good drivers,

Previously Russian and German diesels, ran the Cummins last year because of the engine downsizing. Cannot run 16 litre engines like before , they had a very large 16 litre German engine in the years before
