I have the exact same fridge, same color, same model. But mine doesn't have that heating option. just off or cold. So im wondering if you got an older one and they revised it. my screws in the heat sink rusted too, and the back panel screws do strip out. Also, my heat sink looks diffrent than yours, its wavy. But other than that, it looks exactly the same. model number MIS129C-BLACK
I have one just like that. Mine has an On / Off only switch. No ability to switch polarity like yours. Mine needs a new fan, and new Nichicon capacitors on the power board, since the original output capacitors vented, and are bound to completely fail, trying to spin that fan. Fan is noisy as hell!!!
Peltier device, I have a couple vids up making my own 12v coolers with these. I've had problems with them over heating connections though. Overheated the 12v outlet in car, where the wires are spliced and switches. It may have been from moister but may have been the heat from bad connection at switch. Hell or both, lol
