If I'm not mistaken, she hits higher than that on the final note of Winds of Transylvania, and the high notes in When Destinies Align and Shadowmaker.
Asami's formal training began with over a decade of ballet dance, then to USA to study jazz & hip-hop dance after high school, then began her R&B/Soul cabaret career back in Japan, along with backing vocalist for top pop/rock acts which she continues, then submitted as 'demo' to LOVEBITES, her first Metal experience, listening and had never sung anything like it before. A perfect 'fit' for LOVEBITES, imo. She also plays piano on a couple songs, but Miyako is the virtuoso on piano. She is also the primary lyricist for the band. Exudes positivity consistently, while not ignoring life's challenges. They have 47 songs with vocals and each is 'worthy' and unique in it's own right.

Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Band-Maid is a fantastic Hard Rock Band - I am 66 now and I have seen them all, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin, Motörhead….you name it. These girls are the real deal.

Most gifted band playing today. That they aren’t household names is the crime of the century. Asami can perform to this standard for two hours, with only one slower song, on average, per set. Their music is melodic, catchy, well arranged, and their message is always positive. They enjoy what they are doing, which is contagious. I discovered them just over 12 months ago and rarely ever listen to anything else nowadays. Best band in generations. Great reaction, you’re going to be amazed with ANY performance you react to by them. They don’t do mediocre. Approaching 50 tracks and not one album filler.

the vocalist, Asami, she have a very big different voice between talking and singing.. she has a natural deep voice, but here, it's like we just heard another voice from Asami.. but, their (former) bassist, miho, have more deeper voice.. It's crazy to think that people with deep voices can't sing high-pitched..

Asami's formal training began with over a decade of ballet dance, then to USA to study jazz & hip-hop dance after high school, then began her R&B/Soul cabaret career back in Japan, along with backing vocalist for top pop/rock acts which she continues, then submitted as 'demo' to LOVEBITES, her first Metal experience, listening and had never sung anything like it before. A perfect 'fit' for LOVEBITES, imo. She also plays piano on a couple songs, but Miyako is the virtuoso on piano.
She is also the primary lyricist for the band. Exudes positivity consistently, while not ignoring life's challenges. They have 47 songs with vocals and each is 'worthy' and unique in it's own right.
Midori Tatematsu (blonde hair) uses ESP E-II guitars
Midori started to learn piano at around two years of age and electric organ at eight. She started studying guitar at the age of 20. Super guitarist, "Crazy Shredder". She surpasses many male guitarists in speed and technique of playing the guitar.

Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. Band-Maid is a fantastic Hard Rock Band - I am 66 now and I have seen them all, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin, Motörhead….you name it. These girls are the real deal.

A beast of a band 🐺🤘😍
Most gifted band playing today. That they aren’t household names is the crime of the century. Asami can perform to this standard for two hours, with only one slower song, on average, per set. Their music is melodic, catchy, well arranged, and their message is always positive. They enjoy what they are doing, which is contagious. I discovered them just over 12 months ago and rarely ever listen to anything else nowadays. Best band in generations. Great reaction, you’re going to be amazed with ANY performance you react to by them. They don’t do mediocre. Approaching 50 tracks and not one album filler.

Yeah the first time I heard Miho speek I was shocked by how low it was.
Japan is the #2 music market in the world, with home Bands/Groups dominating. Japan has an infrastructure that identifies talent early. Miyako (black hair) began piano at 3 yo. Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal), singer, of Babymetal was performing on stage at 6 yo. That means a very deep pool of professional and highly talented musicians and singers.
Miyako is the Ambassador of Dean guitars for Japan. That's her brand of choice unless she plays her Gibson Les Paul. Midori is the Ambassador of ESP guitars for Japan.
