- Framestore worked on over 365 shots on Marvel's Doctor Strange, encapsulating a range of VFX and animation work including environments, the complex ‘Mandelbrotting’ of sets, incredibly high resolution digi-doubles of key characters, and the creation of the astral form, a key technique used throughout the film.
Such a creative and amazing range of visual effects used in the Doctor Strange film.
A huge thank you to all at Framestore and Marvel for bringing the character and and world of Doctor Strange to life for us all to enjoy for decades to come.
Excelsior!
this is actually god level vfx
Some of these scenes... It never occurred to me there was so much CGI. Good shit.
Incredible work as usual, guys!
Awesome Work done framestore
They should use the CG models for toys... would be pretty epic!
If it's like this, I think CGI artists should get most of the money, not the actors.
Hell yes !
It's actually probably not as bad once you get a set-up and a streamlined workflow going. A lot of assets can be bought or re-used and once you have something modeled, most of the work is tweaking and most of the time is rendering.
They do get a lot of money
Certainly they do, because the amount of money they get from the start is already a credit for their hardwork
@@shreeganesh9962 sorry, but we don't
1:30 mandelbrot cam... this movie is just FILLED with fractals
did they redo benedict as 3D in almost every shot? or is the 3d benedict just a place holder/reference for the 3D enviroment? because i believe i saw most of these shots in the behind the scene b-roll, so i thought it was the real benedict doing stuff.
btw, amazing work!
any vfx expert pls help me understand this. thanks!
placeholder.
you can see Benedict doing all kind of chinese-rope-theater in behind the scenes shots - when he actually has to emulate flying, being pushed, being spirited out of his body and so on.
Benedict had a 3D Double on nearly everyshots used for a lot of purposes, but in the close-ups, they took the real benedict head and put it on the 3D Double. That is maybe why you saw some shot of the behind the scene with a 3D double here.
Probably a placeholder for more realistic lighting done by the special effects as you can't do prop lighting to emulate it most of the time in shots like this.
It's there as a shadow and reflection catcher for benedicts form to reflect of cg enviroments and for cg enviroments to cast shadows on the real benedict and as a double for impossible stuff.
^^^Yeah, that
The artists must have had so much fun working on all these building cascading effects
They had nightmares
This is as close as we will ever come to magic
так посмотреть-то и получается, что мы давно не фильмы, а мультики смотрим))
That was sick, subbed.
So... was Cumberbatch in this movie?
Those who baught Apple iPhone 7 in September and, Watched this film on October in 2016, may felt It's the future world ... 😂
Fantastic work!
Could be my reference of my final year project!
Gorgeous
AWSOME!!!
Love this movie
So... they barely filmed the actors acting? It was mostly cgi recreation?
Diogo Neves No they used cg models as placeholders for scenes that needed to interact (like his lasso thing was wrapped around his arm)
Holy GOD !
it wasn't industrial light and magic.
This is industrial light and magic.
"This Video Is Not Available". :(
and then those actors who take the whole fame and money and those who made all those effects get the minimum wage, life isn't fair at all
VendettaRev fame isn't for everyone, people rather just go to their job and not be bothered out side. these vfx editors make great money the only diffrence is their income is steady while the actors isn't becuase they onky get paid per movie they make thus once shooting is fone they are jobless and need to audition like anyone else. getting big in hollywood is great as you dont need to worry if you will have a job or money by next year since directors will want you as you've proved yourself as an actor and known to bring crowds. the editors will always have a job even if they get laid off since studios are always hiring talent as movies get more and more complex. they will always have income, an actor has to pray for it. what's bad is the camera men and all the little behind the scene people they get paid minimum and may only work on one or two movies in years and have to save all the money they made from the previous film until they get called in to work on another one... if they ever get called back.
Except it is very hard to succeed as an actor and to get jobs. lol
CGI animators don't make minimum wage dumbass
yeah but they don't make a much as you may think
Yes but not all actors get paid 10 million dollars a movie. lol
It's the popularity that pays well. Hence why RDJ is getting 200 million dollars for both Avengers movies.
Who needs compositing tricks when you can just make all the sets from scratch in 3d lol
视效真用心
and the winner goes to Fantastic Beast, they said
No. It went to The Jungle Bullshit.
You guys CGI'd the hospital too?
Is this a 3d animation or a real film ?
Those line are becoming a lot more blurred nowadays, right?
both
1:14 xD
Ok, now this is an animation or a live action movie? -.-
Its like you almost dont need the actors just to make an incredible film
Well these guys must have a pixel perfect cgi body double for every marvel actor ever, so they can just bring back anyone who doesn't exiet anymore... Tony stark wink wink
Woow! Any idea what software was used?
Heir of the Sith nuke Mari etc
anyone feel like they were fooled????
mohseneman asim nah
ヤバすぎ.
there were alot of CGI caters they might not even need the actor
What a shifty looking movie.
Also, who was the composer for this? Giacchino? Does he not know how obvious his rip offs are? JFC!
falconbleau this dude probably likes la la land. fucking snob
Nope.
this movie was disappointing AF !
Sure man whatever you say 🙄
Sub-par stuff. The green screen stuff was so apparent in some scenes. You people got no nuanced sense of appreciation.
