Thank you :) You can use CC particle world as well, but if given the choice I prefer to use Particular - it’s much more powerful and gives me more control :)

can you please do the explosion,fire simulations in blender and composite it in aftereeffects...
Can u see the particles from the burst are vanishing on air......not really falling down...but it's good to see.

Hi, just substitute the elements you want to - the techniques in this tutorial wouldn't change, just use the different video elements for explosions, smoke and debris as you need :)

You can use any stock footage you like for this :) In prefer using ActionVFX, but Action Essentials (or any other pack) should work as well
Had you thought of adding a 3d model of a missile into this? Also trapcode particular tutorial please and thank you.
I've considered it, but felt the tutorial was long enough already :) Could have added it to the Rocket Trail I rendered out, but for about half a second it didn't quite feel worth it - not a bad idea though :D And noted on the Trapcode tutorial!

I just have few silly issue with after effect as I;m new user. the green line in the timeline is coming shorter than the actual footage I don't know why it just happened. it keeps repeating only the few second out of the whole footage!!!!

when I dragged in the explosion it wouldn`t replace the solid.
How exactly did you drag it?
@@SurfacedStudio I tried dragging it in holding shift and that wouldn’t work, So I tried not holding shift and that didn’t work either. It may also be because I was dragging in a video from my desktop and it wasn’t built into after effects.
Not sure if the audio in the tutorial isn't clear enough (be keen to hear if that's the issue)? You need to hold ALT while dragging something onto an existing item in your composition to replace it, not SHIFT :)

"No video with supported format and MIME type found" is what it says. Maybe it's on my side.
Hm, that sounds like maybe your computer doesn't understand the format of the files? I've tried on multiple computers and they all seem to work for me. Sorry, not sure what else to try
@@SurfacedStudio Same problem here with the .mov files but not with the .mp4 ones. Using Mac Pro, OS 10.13.6 and whether Safari or Firefox.

Nice tutorial but the smoke shadow should be soft, smooth and lower in opacity and little bit blur.❤️

You could create a full-blown 3D simulation in tools such as Houdini
I was thinking that with all that dust from a missile blast, the road should show at least some effect, shouldn't it? I wonder how I could add a smoking crater and some cracks in the road. And maybe some of those car pieces should be smoking or even on fire as well.
Hmmm....thinking...
That massive dust wave would have to dissipate first, then...
You can tweak the effect in any way that you want and add all and any elements you like - smoke, cracks, more debris, dust, more fire, it's completely up to you on how you want the final effect to look :)

Most of the compositers in the video seem to be using Nuke. Every studio will use a large variety of tools and AE and Blender are often somewhere in the mix

I love u videos,but 44 mins for this tutorial is a bit long isnt it
'Too long' and 'too short' are very subjective and most people seem to enjoy my longer tutorials. I don't really do 'summary style' stuff and the reality of VFX is that all effects (even simple ones such as this) simple take a lot of time to put together. At the end of the day it's up to you whether you think this video is 'too long' for you - and it's your choice to watch it or not :)

I appreciate the feedback and I do NOT care about hitting some algorithm and never have. According to UA-cam shorter videos do better anyway and I've NEVER made short videos on purpose. I make them as long as I think they need to be to be useful ;)
