@@a7tweetk I know it's so sad. You should listen to thier song 'The Woodpile' amazing video as well. Also the song 'Swim until you can't see land' very good song as well.
This could mean nothing to whoever is reading this. This tune was recommended to me as I was starting a journey of running. I decided I wanted to just run. I could go on for an hour about poor me, but I’ll just say that I keep running and sometimes this song comes up on my playlist and I smile
I normally don’t comment on videos but this something special. Being raised catholic and gay, I always felt a deep sense of shame for who I am. This song is the only one that has ever really resonated with my experience. This video was a brave and beautiful artistic choice, and it is such a powerful representation of heartbreak but specifically lesbian love which is entirely underrepresented. I saw FR in concert with my first girlfriend in 2017. I cried when they played this song. I love this man for bringing this music into the world. Rest In Peace.
Frightened Rabbit a Scottish band making a video in Ukraine .Tragically Scott the singer is no longer with us he died at such a young age. Ukraine itself is now fighting for it's life and very existence. Seems like yesterday both of them were at peace and happy. Let's hope HAPPINESS RETURNS to all who knew him and all of Ukraine and it's people .Peace to all of them
Just remember to those that look back on this song: Scott was about as honest as a songwriter as you will ever find. If he felt like writing a song about how unfulfilling his life was, he did. If he wanted to write a song about how a breakup made him want to take his own life, he did it. If he wanted to make a song about burying painful memories with the understanding that they couldn't be buried forever, he did. And this was his happy song In retrospect it is one of the most beautifully bittersweet songs you may ever find. Rest in peace, Mr. Hutchinson, thank you for all of the great music.
The first time I heard this song it hit me like a freight train. I could not stop listening to it. What an amazing band. I hope you are at peace now Scott. Thank you for your music.
They keep evolving as musicians, not just throwing the same shit against the wall over and over again like other artists. This is why I love Frightened Rabbit.
every time this song randomly plays in my head, I remember how vivid and beautiful this music video is and make sure to rewatch it, it something out of this world, something so magical, that I can't seem to forget
I know this is more about the push/pull of an actual relationship, but as a Professional Piner, and someone who has genuinely tried to "get over" feelings that I could never ask to have returned...this is so cathartic. You want to quit being reminded of them because of the inner turmoil, but at the same time, you need that drug to keep going.
That look at 0:32 is how we all wish to be gazed at... with wonder, with affection, with joy. RIP Scott. Through your music many many of us "looked" at you that way.

Heard this on the radio today, the DJ got a little choked up when talking about this band and the lead singer. Sad ending to the singer’s life, great artist. Glad I was introduced. Riposa con dio.
I've always felt this too. Such a beautifully choreographed, well directed, and well acted video that makes this beautiful song even more moving. I miss Scott and all of them 😢
5 years ago, I found this song and the music video on a tv show and I've felt a deeper connection to it ever since. This music will always have a mark on me. Thank you, frightened rabbit! Thank you, Scott.
This song is the closest thing to feeling that once in a lifetime love that you can get. I see the video captured the theme perfectly. Just heard of you on NPR and haven't been able to get the song out of my heart. . I mean head.
I’m a lesbian and it’s music like this that makes me proud to be Scottish. With parents who refuse to understand I don’t care anymore because I have friends that do. I always think of Scott 🥀
'Kiev' [key-yev] is Russian pronunciation, which became internationally accepted during the Soviet era. 'Kyiv' [key-eve] is Ukrainian pronunciation, which the world is sloooowly switching to since 1991. First syllable is stressed in both cases, by the way.
This song is everything. It perfectly captures the emotions of how it feels to love someone to the point it's as if they are a drug to you. And when they leave you, or you can't be together, it's absolute emotional torture.
Thanks Colbert for introducing me to yet another amazing, beautiful Scottish band. The yearning melodies are reminiscent of Simple Minds and FIsh-era Marillion - of majestic windswept highlands and rainy, grey despondent lowland cities buoyed only by the flicker of hope that is the human spirit. The descendants of a unique and tumultuous blend of Gael/Celt/Pict/Anglo-Saxon/Norse blood that render the human condition in song like no other.
I remember first hearing this song and being blown away. Ecspecially the build up to the first chorus. It's a shame that the tragedy of Scott's death broke them up. This was original sounding, powerful, and emotionally evocative. A true rarity in modern music. Was hoping to hear more from them. I have yet to get tired of hearing this song and fount that I ever will.

Very sad that it took the recent news of the frontman's disappearance for me to hear of this band. They are brilliant, a lot of emotion to their music , rare these days
First, I thought that the song described the feelings of the brunette woman, mainly because the video focuses a bit more on her. Now I think the song describes the blonde ones feelings. Her push of the brunette corresponds to the first "Get out of my heart". Also, when the brunette strokes paint on her forehead, the lyric "branded bull" is sung.
Scott wrote all his songs about his personal experiences. Any interpretation outside of that by the director of the video is meaningless as it relates to Scott's vision for the song. If anything, the director is fitting the video to match the lyrics, which were done a long time before they even talked about a video
Scott was just getting started on something incredible. What a loss. What a gem. So lucky to have seen him in person. Rest in peace you beautiful bastard.

I'm in the arch of the church
Between her thumb and her forefinger
I'm a worshipper
A zealot king, cursed, a devotee
Of the heady golden dance she does
She's an uncut drug
Find the vein and the pulse
Chased it and for a minute I was floating dead above myself
Get out of my heart
She won't, she won't
Get out of my heart
She won't, she won't
I saw a glimmer in the dark
And now I know she won't get out of my heart
She won't
I'm in your purse
Pull me out and throw me down
Stick me to your lip and draw a scarlet 'O'
There's a name on my chest in red
The embossing of a branded bull
And I don't want you to
Get out of my heart
She won't, she won't
Get out of my heart
She won't, she won't
I saw a glimmer in the dark
And now I know she won't get out of my heart
She won't
Get out of my heart
She won't, she won't
Get out of my heart
She won't, she won't
And there's a heavenly scar
That let's me know she won't get out of my heart
