I normally don’t comment on videos but this something special. Being raised catholic and gay, I always felt a deep sense of shame for who I am. This song is the only one that has ever really resonated with my experience. This video was a brave and beautiful artistic choice, and it is such a powerful representation of heartbreak but specifically lesbian love which is entirely underrepresented. I saw FR in concert with my first girlfriend in 2017. I cried when they played this song. I love this man for bringing this music into the world. Rest In Peace.

Scott was about as honest as a songwriter as you will ever find. If he felt like writing a song about how unfulfilling his life was, he did. If he wanted to write a song about how a breakup made him want to take his own life, he did it. If he wanted to make a song about burying painful memories with the understanding that they couldn't be buried forever, he did.
And this was his happy song
In retrospect it is one of the most beautifully bittersweet songs you may ever find. Rest in peace, Mr. Hutchinson, thank you for all of the great music.

Frightened Rabbit a Scottish band making a video in Ukraine .Tragically Scott the singer is no longer with us he died at such a young age. Ukraine itself is now fighting for it's life and very existence. Seems like yesterday both of them were at peace and happy. Let's hope HAPPINESS RETURNS to all who knew him and all of Ukraine and it's people .Peace to all of them

every time this song randomly plays in my head, I remember how vivid and beautiful this music video is and make sure to rewatch it, it something out of this world, something so magical, that I can't seem to forget
I know this is more about the push/pull of an actual relationship, but as a Professional Piner, and someone who has genuinely tried to "get over" feelings that I could never ask to have returned...this is so cathartic. You want to quit being reminded of them because of the inner turmoil, but at the same time, you need that drug to keep going.
The first time I heard this song it hit me like a freight train. I could not stop listening to it. What an amazing band. I hope you are at peace now Scott. Thank you for your music.

The yearning melodies are reminiscent of Simple Minds and FIsh-era Marillion - of majestic windswept highlands and rainy, grey despondent lowland cities buoyed only by the flicker of hope that is the human spirit. The descendants of a unique and tumultuous blend of Gael/Celt/Pict/Anglo-Saxon/Norse blood that render the human condition in song like no other.
Very sad that it took the recent news of the frontman's disappearance for me to hear of this band. They are brilliant, a lot of emotion to their music , rare these days

Everything about this song and video takes me back 15 years ago, when I was 15 and falling in love for the first time. The flood of feels I get when I watch this song makes me relive that time...amazing, but fearful and cautious, and no matter what you did you could not escape the feelings towards that person. Knowing that others may mock or look down on the relationship, but being consumed by both love and fear. If only gay teens didn't have that internal battle between the desire to live and love, and the anxiety of acceptance and isolation. I could watch this video all day. I......can't stop watching this. Since this morning. It's my off day and I've spent it watching this video/song. What is it? It's so powerful to me.
Yes, the video is about a forbidden lesbian relationship -- one that is being denied by one of the girls -- but the reality is that song stands across any context, as good songs do. I see this as a beautiful commentary on an unrequited love. In fact, the video is essentially a ballet performed by these girls.
I can't say enough about song or about Frightened Rabbit. It is beautiful, sad, breathtaking, haunting, all of the above. And the girls in the video bring it to life in such a believable way. It is almost embarrassing because you feel like a voyeur intruding on their lives.
