@@susanburrow3238 I’m 26 and currently working as a first responder. Your comment about your age just made me think about my line of work. It reminds me that old age is a subjective term and an experience some of us will not be granted in life… Even then, I’ve witnessed firsthand the way that a person’s genuine beauty is something they radiate from the inside out, and it never truly dies.
I think we show our gratitude for the life we’ve been gifted by living it fully and compassionately every day. I hope you are doing something fun today and I hope you know that *your* beauty is palpable to me, even from online and miles away. God bless and much love from El Paso, TX 🤠🌵🏜

This is how boys and men can wear make up and it looks like skin. I’ve spent many years trying foundations and then bronzers etc to bring life back to the face, and it looks like a man wearing a beat face. These days it’s carefully placed bronzer and blush, and I’ve never had anyone question what I’m ‘wearing’. But lots of compliments saying I always have great skin. I’m pale pale. But placement can be a game changer to keep it looking natural.

Thank you - finally a voice of reason.
I see so many young women (also UA-camrs) these days who smile violently into their mirror and then dot their blusher on the 'apple'. As soon as they stop smiling, they end up with a red spot placed beside the tip of their nose. This always reminds me of an eight-year-old who has played with her mama's makeup. It takes the desire to look younger to a totally new level...

I’m so glad to see that I’ve been using a good approach all these years, as I never could get on-board with the whole “apples” of the cheek method. It just made my more rectangular face look fuller & was so unflattering. I’m a “blusher in the temples“ kinda’ gal as well (I’ll blame all the 80’s avant-garde influencers with their blush-draping on my young impressionable mind). Haha! 😄💜

I have a long, thin and angular face so I’ve always applied blusher to the apples of my cheeks (whilst also avoiding any contour on my cheeks and temples) specifically to make my face look rounder, wider and softer. But now that I’m over 40 and want a bit of ‘lift’ too, it’s hard to know exactly where to put these makeup products. I’d love it if you did a video for people like me who are trying to achieve the opposite of the face sculpting that every makeup video shows!

I learned how to apply blush by paying attention to the topography of my face more than the geometry. Liquid, cream or powder, and regardless of color, I never apply blush lower than the bottom of my nose and only outside the center of my eyes. So draw the imaginary lines. And the uneven topography - we all have it, no one has a truly symmetrical face - will appear more even.

My makeup goal at the moment is to master the "make it as subtle as possible". I've tried your buffing technique and I like it, but it's an extra step so I might experiment with a very light hand and then a thin veil of setting powder to blend/tone it down. At the same time... I do love a bit of extra blush sometimes, it looks really cute when it's well blended and the focus of the makeup (instead of bold eye/lip makeup, as I usually use mascara and lip gloss only). So many optionssss, exciting!
