Thanks everyone for watching, this video triggered a lot of harsh comments and seems there are a lot of assumptions and judgments being made without understanding the full situation. Just to clarify this happened a few years ago and Gladys is not justifying those actions in any way. We talked in the video on how foreigners do play a role when leading with their wallet in a place with poverty and desperation. Even with good intentions this helps create an environment of easy access to life-changing money which can lead to desire and sometimes greed. But it's not to say that Gladys doesn't take responsibility she's not blaming anyone and I'm not suggesting that either. It's just good to be open-minded and try and understand the whole picture. She has changed a lot since then over the last few years and has grown as a person and part of her opening up about this is to continue to grow as a person, be vulnerable and share with everyone the kind of things that do happen here often. I think most people make mistakes in their life and do things that are regretful but what can you do at that point besides try and become a better person one day at a time. I've only known Glladys for a short time but the person that I feel she is now is someone who is a good person learning from mistakes made and she wants to treat people kindly and respectfully. She wants to live a life of honesty and transparency, she understands the harm of lying and the impacts it causes. It's really hard to capture everything in one little interview I did my best to capture everything and look at it from different angles but I also think it's important to not jump to conclusions and to give people a chance. Again just to clarify I think everyone's on the same page that misleading someone for monetary gain is very bad and no one is justifying it despite how anything may have come across. What I think is cool about this video and interview is it's an honest inside look into something that is very common here not only for what many Filipinas do with foreigners but also for us foreigners who come to the Philippines and even with good intentions thinking we can get what we want because of our financial status and how that can impact the dating environment here, are we sometimes adding fuel to the fire? As always thanks for watching everyone, cheers

I didn't read any "hate" in the comments, just a lot of value judgements, which is to be expected given the medium and subject matter. So "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"....right? While I'll be the first to admit I've engaged in unethical behavior in the past, its one thing to do it, another to admit it, then another to describe it publicly ON UA-cam for everyone to see. I don't know how old her children are, but can you imagine the shock, embarrassment, and hurt her children (or other family members) would feel when they see Gladys describe such behaviors? If that was my Mom or sister or daughter I would have ZERO respect from that point on. So maybe its a cultural acceptance thing. Maybe its OK in the PH culture to defraud people for money. I spend time there and yes I've seen that as I'm sure you have as well. It would be interesting to understand how her family feels about her past behavior. Is it "Way to go Mom! Good job getting the cash!" or something other than that. Because I've seen worse in the PH. Like "familial sex trafficking" is culturally acceptable there and that was shocking to me and still is. That's where young daughters are "strongly encouraged" to go find dates for pay so the family can eat. And it's too common. And now you have young Filipinas on "live" YT dancing and taking showers in their underware and asking for Paypal. Unethical? Inappropriate? Or justifiable behavior because of extreme poverty and lack of social services? Each must decide. But if you publish content describing questionable behavior you have to be prepared for opinions......good or bad.

@@Descent4love I think what was missed in the video is properly describing that this happened years ago, properly explaining how she knows it was wrong, and also properly explaining how over the last few years she has changed her life completely. No one is arguing about whether or not her actions were right or wrong or justifiable. I changed the word hate to harsh, it's OK to have a negative opinion I think everyone is on the same page about scammers and manipulating people it's extremely common here and it's so bad, I make a lot of videos talking about it. I just think it's easy to throw a harsh comment in a comment section but it takes more thoughtfulness and empathy to see a deeper and bigger picture of her story and that whole environment here. I think just calling someone disgusting and other harsh words like that doesn't take much thought and would seem that maybe they didn't even watch the whole video or consider different perspectives. I wonder would these people say that to her face or just on a comment section? Do they consider that this was years ago when that happened and that people change? Does that matter? Do they realize that she agrees that it's totally wrong and she regrets it? Do they know of her healthy and happy relationship with her kids/family and friends how she loves them? I was hoping this would encourage more thought and discussion rather than just easily throwing harsh comments without trying to also see different perspectives. For me I thought just her honesty alone opening up about her past and being vulnerable I actually respect her for that because I know she's put in the work to change from her past. It's an interesting inside look to a very common thing here, it's wrong without a doubt and I also think some foreigners do play part in fueling this type of environment here . Even good guys who are genuine, The supporter talked about in the video was a good guy but he was quick to offer large sums of money and even houses. It came from a good place but when you're doing that to someone who is poor and desperate who you haven't even met because you want to build a perfect future for yourself Knowing that money will make that happen, you have to know how that can impact a poor desperate Filipinas thinking and the more it happens the more some Filipinas can get caught up in a world of greed like she did. It's still wrong what she did but there's lots of things to consider is all I'm saying and I thought it was a cool opportunity to see into this topic and learn from it. Btw Some of the responses were more thoughtful I appreciate that. And I appreciate your message and sharing your opinion as well, cheers 🙏

@@ChadFosterExplores I think the hardest part for me to handle was when she rejected her supporter and chose Eli... and then it was as though she was still expecting money or a motorcycle from the supporter! Or she seemed to think the supporter was "rubbing it in her face" when he talked about buying the new girl a house. I mean she literally had the house offered to her on a plate and she rejected the dude. I don't understand how she could expect a single peso from the original supporter after she kicked him to the curb. Anyway.. just my 2 cents.

This story just reinforces why it’s so incredibly important to thoroughly vet someone before getting serious with them.
Years ago I met a cute, really sweet Filipina while I was on vacation in Davao. She knew this would likely only be a short-term relationship, but that I *might* be open to long-term, no promises though. I was very clear on this. She understood and was ok with it.
After being together (and sleeping together) for a few days I started to think, who knows, maybe there could be a future with this girl. So I thought, while I’m here I should do my due diligence and see if there’s any red flags.
We talked about lots of things, including previous relationships, and she was surprisingly open that she’d had a few one night stands (she seemed almost proud of it), and only one serious boyfriend. All foreigners. At that point I said to myself "not wife material", and I just enjoyed the rest of our time together. I observed other red flags too, but had already written her off by that point so it didn’t matter. I treated her well, and with respect, but I never let myself develop feelings, no matter how well we got along. She was high risk.
A week after I got back home to the US my concerns were confirmed. The ex-boyfriend she mentioned... they were still together. They live together, and have done for a few years. He was away at the time on a business training course, so she decided to play around and see if she could find someone better.
Dodged a bullet there. All because I took the time to ask questions, observe behavior, look for red flags, and most importantly to take the appropriate action instead of ignoring them.

It’s disheartening to see people throwing nasty comments about Gladys, as if they’ve never made a mistake in their lives-as if they’re somehow perfect and exempt from the struggles and imperfections of being human.
Instead of acknowledging and celebrating what an incredible woman she is-managing a family of three, being the sole provider for her partner and kids-people chose to focus on the parts they didn’t like and hurl harsh words at her. This is a glaring example of the toxic mindset that’s far too common in our society: quick to criticize, slow to empathize.

Guys will offer money to women online for a variety of reasons, but I believe most of those reasons are genuinely good. I have done it myself, not any meaningful amount of money to me, but something significant and helpful to her. In my case I did it because I was genuinely interested in my Filipina gf that I met on a dating site. I also did it in a genuine sense of compassion for another human being going thru what I know for a fact is a life of harsh poverty, and I did it for the sake of doing some good in this world, it was a gift not meant to be repaid in any way or fashion it was just coming straight from the heart.
So when a woman takes this financial help while at the same time being dishonest, deceptive , a liar, and running around with other men, I find that to be a trait of a truly rotten person. Rotten because of the dishonesty and the deception. We live in a rotten world full of dishonesty and deception, most advertisements for products on sale convey some form of dishonesty and deception and I truly hate that.
Wonderful is the Filipina that even though she is accepting money from the foreigner, she is being a truly honest, humble and good-hearted person, being honest all the way is a sign of good character and a good moral compass. Those women do exist, and rotten women exist also, it is our job as men to have enough common sense to be able to decipher when a woman is lying and being dishonest. Some men are so stupid that they throw huge amounts of money away like idiots, I only gave a small but helpful amount, and my gf was better for it, and I felt good helping another human in need.
I met my gf on a couple of occasions travelling to the Philippines, but eventually I had to break up because of the distance barrier and I was not ready to commit fully, but I felt that her intentions were genuine with me and I judged her to be of good character and good moral compass, she never asked me for money and I only offered her money of my own volition , based on knowing what her life was like, knowing that she was earning only 6 or 7 dollars a day in her job and finishing her university, the Philippines is a cruel country to its people, those are facts.

So, let me get this straight, Gladys said the "trap" of being a liar; meaning she was trapped into lying to foreigners. Then, she said begging or telling stories to receive free money is an "addiction" meaning NOTHING is her fault. She is the victim who has been "trapped" and forced into "Addiction" of being a scammer. She is not as rotten as girls in America, she is worse. She mentioned a guy named Eli, but Eli must not have too many options if he is being loyal to a woman who is a single mother with kids AND a woman who disappears to go meet with a 50yr old who (her so-called supporter) appears in the Philippines. And the 50yr old is banging her, then goes back to Eli? Are you kidding me? They give foreigners a bad reputation of being desperate when there are sooooo many single Filipinas who are younger with no kids and no damage to their souls like this lady. No way.

I'll say it plain and simple. Men need to learn that there's a difference between love and lust. Men (more than women) make the mistake of confusing the two. Men, this message is for you. It's not love when you're dealing with a woman so much as lust. When you're attracted to a woman because she's hot, that's lust. NOT LOVE! I'll tell you what love is. Love is when you have a DEEP and truly meaningful relationship with any person, man, woman, child etc and you show true compassion and caring for that individual. So for example, you get a call in the next half an hour. It's your friend and he's stuck in a ditch miles away and he needs your help. That's love if you help him. You drop everything you're doing and you help that individual because you have love for them. That is deeper than any relationship with a woman. Women will come and go. Friends will not. Friends are for life. Family is for life. But women and your relationship with them is a temporary thing in many cases. You may think hey this woman is the love of my life and this is going to be the most incredible relationship and I love her so much and she loves me, but guess what. You're probably wrong. So keep all of that in mind when you're dumping all of your money and your time and your life onto a woman who may end up just like this person in the video. Be careful out there. Lust is NOT love. Now if you are one of the smaller percentage of people who finds a woman who can give you both a great sex life and has a heart of gold and really truly loves you at that deep level, count yourself lucky. But realistically those are a very small percentage of man woman relationships. Just understand that and protect yourself from these kinds of parasites.

Let me start by saying that I have been a viewer of Gladys since she became a trusted friend of three other creators I respect and admire. These three creators deliver original, honest, happy, healing, and uplifting content that allows one to experience the culture of this great nation.
Her honesty is the glue for this interview. She hasn't 'hurt' anyone in the process any more than foreign men have used and hurt many unsuspecting women. In fact, she has done much less than several individuals have done to many Filipinas. Sure, it isn't easy to hear. But you aren't listening to an interview about how one Filipina was hurt by many different men. Why? Maybe it isn't as salacious.
Gladys's take on life and her content have always given me an unreachable 'cause' for her creation. Now I see it, and there is nothing wrong with a woman scorned. Hell, there's a saying about it. You can tell that this isn't her true personality but was rather a defense mechanism to overcome some deep hurt.
Kudos, Gladys, for being the stronger person who tells it like it is and does not beat around the bush.
If people want to live their lives on UA-cam trolling to find content on which they can spew vile opinions without seeing the entire truth, then they are part of the problem. This is an interview about someone's past, not a promotional advert for someone's tenet.
Gladys's content is always truthful and refreshing. If you can't handle that, the internet isn't for you.

Many of these relationships are transactional, and the women usually enjoy the ride as much as the men. Men are men, and it doesn't matter if it's Filipinos or a foreigner. She picked her path in life just as we all do, and it doesn't always work out as planned as we know. A betabux or betabuxx (cacography and contraction of beta bucks), also called beta male provider, is a male in a romantic relationship which is mostly predicated on him being an ATM machine, provider of drugs, housing and the like, i.e. he engages in a slow life history, high-investment reproductive strategy using his amassed resources to make up for his otherwise low looks or status or both. Many of today's beta males are thought to only be able to get laid by getting betabuxxed to used up single mothers who have been pumped and dumped by Chad.
Barring rich people, one usually has to be at least a Low-tier normie for STEMmaxxing or betabuxxing to have any effect. But at least they get laid, unlike the Truecel, Incel, or Nearcel who is still likely to remain single after

FYI: The “exotic” impression of Filipino beauty standards is often equivalent to being considered unattractive. This isn’t limited to dark-skinned individuals it also applies to those with lighter or white skin who are labeled as “exotic.” We’ve noticed a pattern where foreigners, especially white men, tend to choose local women who are below average in looks or not conventionally attractive, regardless of their skin color.
Even other neighboring asians also see this patterns. I hope she stops using that victim card of being dark skinned. Its not that really deep issue she is just one of those people who are insecure of those light skinned people being more celebrated than the brown ones. It has nothing to do with being ugly.. theres celebrities who are brown but not being labeled as ugly. Its really all about the face value. Not the skin color 🙄🙄

The feelings/emotions/sentiment regarding (dark) skin color in PH is very well known. When the skin color is dark(er), one is from poor background (working in the (rice) fields). That is what they say themselves. The use (sales) of whitening skin lotion/cream is big business in PH

    • @okane-h6d
      @okane-h6d Місяць тому

@ I’m from the Philippines, and I know what you are saying.. but,
In the West, people tan their skin and spend money on expensive tanning lotions, sprays, and lasers, yet no one bats an eye or rages about it. But when someone with dark skin wants to lighten their tone, everyone rushes to criticize and shame them. This stems from certain ideologies promoting dark skin over light skin, often fueled by resentment or jealousy toward Caucasian skin. It’s a way to belittle those who want to lighten their skin.
Here in the Philippines, the preference for lighter skin is about aesthetics, not colorism or wanting to look Western. Some people in African countries bleach their skin, not to look white, but to achieve a lighter tone like Nicki Minaj. Even among rich and successful Black men, many choose light-skinned partners over darker-skinned women. The hypocrisy is glaring.
White women spray-tan regularly, but no one criticizes them. Yet, if a person of color wants to lighten their skin, they’re judged harshly. Many Filipinos prefer lighter skin because it’s associated with looking polished and clean. Our climate is hot and humid, and darker skin under the sun can make people feel they appear untidy. This belief is aesthetic, not colorism or racial.
Most Filipinos with dark skin aren’t naturally that dark they’ve been tanned by constant sun exposure. If you remove them from the tropical climate, their skin often turns yellowish or lighter.
Ironically, there’s now a trend where some women intentionally tan their skin to attract foreigners, then play the victim card when they aren’t considered attractive locally. They willingly choose to be sexualized or fetishized for their skin tone, which reeks of “pick-me” energy.
Foreigners rarely marry dark-skinned locals. Western Black and White men alike often marry light-skinned Filipinas. While dark skin can be sexually attractive, it’s often associated with casual flings rather than long-term commitment.
Meanwhile, many foreign men fly to Eastern Europe to marry a poor beautiful blonde, blue-eyed women, while others come to the Philippines to sleep around with tanned women but only settle down with light-skinned ones. The hypocrisy is real.

    • @SansaStarkw
      @SansaStarkw Місяць тому

It has nothing to do with being ugly. that's not true
that victim card of being dark-skinned Stop coping.
People have always loved whiter skin. The question is, do you have white privilege? instead of always saying someone isn't a fucking victim. I never heard of slavery affecting millions of white American people, but white people have always felt better than black and darker-skinned people, and laws were created for it. How come white people and people in general live better in America than those in the Philippines? Why don't white men just stay in America and date white women?

I don't make excuses for a person not having a conscience. Did she give the money back? Do you realize that these people have lived as hunter-gatherers all of their lives? If we put away our first-world measuring stick we will see this place as it is. What we call poverty is really their normal life. I realized that when I saw those people living on the ocean in boats. They would dive and hold their breath for several minutes and catch fish. They have lived that way for centuries. It's normal. I visited the province and one guy told me he chose to live like that to care for the family property. Another woman told me her father chose to leave the province life so his children could have a better life. As an Afro-American who came out of the U.S., I fully understand poverty and choose to work my way out of it. The Filipinas are speaking out against it. For every 1 success story, there are 3 horror stories. This is doing irreparable harm to the Philippines' reputation and marketing efforts.
