  • To read about how I go about printing these panels for electronics panels, see this blog post: frankie.graffag...
I tried 4"x4" prints from these two services:
    Adoramapix: www.adoramapix....
    Bay Photo: www.bayphoto.c...
In short, this video explains how I worked with the companies to discover how to adjust your photo exports of your electronics panel such that after their bleed and trim process the items will line up as you intended.
For AdoramaPix, I found you need to add 0.2 inches to width and height (or 0.1" on all sides).
For Bay Photo, I found you need to add 0.125 inches to width and height (or 0.0625" on all sides).

Obviously these metal print services are not recommended.

Draw it in Nanocad [free cad program], then you will get the size you want when printed at 100% scale. Seems like this printing Co. comprises a bunch of turkeys.

Totally stupid that the size is not exact.
Anyone know if this is still the case or if they fixed their mistake.
How much does a front plate like the one shown in the video 4"x4" cost approximately?

that's not your fault, they are simply bad, careless people. find another printer. one who can actually do the job properly. I have used several small printers, and there are quite a lot of bad ones out there. Don't let them bullshit you into thinking it's your problem.

@@FrankGraffagnino I'm trying to print my design on my printer, had it printed on other printers. If I scale it 100,8% while printing the overall size printed is right measured on paper but the hole centres inside the design are slightly off. My brother did a simple rectangle 100mm and needed to scale 100,3% to get 100mm on paper. When he made a rectangle of 225mm he hade to scale it 100,8%.

hello... i noticed that same 1-2mm from InkScape when I imported design to another front panel designer but not tried to print it yet. Then i did export of my design with 1200dpi and 0 compression! What I got is PNG file of 202Mb but 0.0 error when imported to front panel design. I will try to do tomorrow first print on konica minolta printer of such big file and measure it to confirm is it ok.

it's because today, things are done in a lazy half-assed way. Nobody cares about quality and precision anymore, it's all about quantity. And if shit's gone wrong, just do it again, hopefully the customer will shut up then; just offer him a refund, he won't bother you.

That company is asinine dummies. Trying to figure out what they are doing and then compensating for their mistakes is crazy.
