- If you’re having issues with your Chinese diesel heater and you want to see if your glow plug is faulty then you can do so with a multi meter.
Select ohms on the multimeter and set it to 200 to test the glow plug, make sure you check the voltage on your leisure batteries as well Incase you’re below 12.5v, sometimes low voltage can cause an E3 code. Let me know how you fixed your E3 code!

Finally a 2 minute youtube that gets right to the point without all the bollocks -- thank you. I don't entirely understand the numbers and what they mean since I'm no good with electronics. Often my heater starts for a minute, I might hear a few clicks from the fuel pump but then shuts down with and E-01 error. Sometimes it completes startup, after which it will run all night. I replaced my solar-charged battery. I'm not sure, but I suspect it completes startup and works only if my battery is at full charge after some time in the sun; if it's at all depleted, heater startup won't complete. Please provide more details on how I might diagnose, and whether glow plug or fan are among the suspects. Thanks again!
The glow plug is a resistor. It is not polarity sensitive. So it does not matter what lead goes on what wire. 😊
Helpful content! I like it! Handsome fella. 😁
Hey maybe you might be able to help. Just installed brand new heater like yours tested like you did except mine reads .3 .4. I stuck my finger in the hole to touch glow plug and it was hot. The display read 13v but still throwing a e3 code.
Really enjoyed your wood stove video and subscribed!!! I'm going to be doing my own van conversion in the next few months and wanted to ask you would you recommend getting a diesel heater if you also install a wood stove burner. Many thanks,
Rory
Hi Rory, I’ve done a van with a wood burner only and vans without the burner and with a heater like the propex, I think having both is ideal if you have the space, on those longer colder winter days the wood burner is lovely but on those days when you just need a little boost it’s really good to have a diesel/LPG heater to warm the van.
Also you may not be able to use the wood burner in some park up locations especially if you’re trying to be stealthy.
@@Aboutavan Thanks for the information! I'm going to install a diesel heater too to make sure the camper is nice and warm. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos!

Hi i have change the glow plug on my chinese diesel heater and im still having the error 03 what it can be?!?!im desperate and angry!
It’s having trouble with ignition, there’s a little wire gauze that often clogs up and needs replacing, have you checked this?
Hey I have a heater reading e 3 glow plug reading 5.7 ohms, what should it be? Heater is only a few weeks old, ran great, after about 5 times of using it now reads e-3, from your experience is there something else I should check
Hey :)
