Glad you got it working. It would have ben helpful (for me at least) to see you take it all apart and put it back together as I am no wiser about this process after watching 😕🤷♀
Awesome you came along way baby. 3 years ago he couldn't change a water pump now he is rebuilding a diesal heater. Wow I am so proud of you buddy 👍🏼🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦🛠️
Himz is like watching a sloth building an RV while living in it ,,,,, sloooooooooooooooow
@@kwiknuts1 yeah but the thing is he is out of his comfort zone and doing it HIMSELF 🇨🇦🇨🇦🛠️🛠️
thx Badge. I still struggle a lot but I'm doing better at conquering my fears with each new project
Thank you so much for your informative and well structured video!!! (Only one wee thing please - light source BEHIND you, not behind the thing youre videoing; then we will be able to see what youre showing us! :-) :-) :-))
Thanks again!
Way to go, Seven! Excellent troubleshooting. Good video!👍😎
Thank you Sir for such informative video.God bless you!
I changed my hz when having e10 pop up and it was sweet.
Nice job!
Great video, thanks!!
Good video. I had that error before, wouldn't reset, so I had a bag of screens and a glow plug. Change them both because the glow plug was all rounded off at the end. Saved it just in case it was still good. Also ordered another 2 spare glow plugs .
good advice. I am planning to do the same. have a friend who changes his twice per year as part of maintenance on his truck
Crank it up on HIGH for 5 to 10 min before shutting it down to burn the carbon off of the screen and it will help with that problem.
Hi , with my experience, I went to a manual on/off and dial switch every now and then use acetone along with the diesel fuel and it will keep your unit running., acetone cleans the soot. some times you may have to disassemble and clean the burn chamber. Best Regards
You should do an informational video for many RV creators on how to acquire camera position and then look at the lens and not themselves. You've got it down. I know it's easy to sit on your deck and enjoy life but, you really need to finish your home.
thx for compliment on video capture. I guess I just like to work at a very very slow comfortable pace
THANKS!!!
Great video, did you mention where you got the repair kit ?👍👍
Always especially nice when it works on the first try. woo hoo!
I use oven cleaner to clean out the screen and chambers.
The kind of oven cleaner that you can apply to a cold surface, let it sit for about an hour, then remove/flush with water.
I dont take the screen out cause of damage, just spray a bunch of oven cleaner in there and let it soak.
Would clean out 2 stroke exhaust with sodium hydroxide, same stuff as oven cleaner, used to unblock drains, might be a bit cheaper. My heater just stopped code 10. Looks like needs a clean.
@@flybobbie1449 I'm literally trying out lye drain cleaner today. Grabbed a stainless steel pot and gonna simmer the burner overnight lol I remembered that we used to clean engine parts with stuff at this one shop I worked at.
I had a similar thing happen to my heater except the error was 08. After going around the block a few times it turned out to be the same little screen which they tell me got clogged because I didn't adjust the fuel/air mixture for the Leadville altitude. I replaced the screen and made that adjustment and now it's working. The leaner mixture does not burn as hot but hopefully won't clog the screen again.
my first thought was that the air/fuel mix needed adjusting. Also not sure why the screen couldn't be cleaned with a solvent and reused?
@@xtremeclean9049 The gunk that builds up on the screen is baked on and I'm not sure what solvent would be necessary. Not many Nomads carry a selection of solvents in their rigs. If you did have something, it would be worth keeping the old one as a spare and soaking it over a longer time.
It may be too baked on to clean. It just seems like Seven hasn’t had the heater very long to already begin replacing parts on it. He may need to consider making the heater more accessible if it will need to be serviced quite frequently.
I would think that anyone who travels in a vehicle (especially full time) would have a can of carb cleaner or PB blaster on hand for mechanical emergencies.
the replacement screens are about $1 each so easier to replace than trying to clean them ;)
Thx so much. I found fuel line leak. About to order but can’t figure out the exact dimension. Do you remember? Thx again
Personally I think if I were doing a replacement or even a first time I’d somehow come up with the $1500 and purchase new, unless I found out that they too were manufactured in China as well then I’d stick with the the less expensive model
I thought it was called atomization screen. Anyway mine was blocked up with carbon . And small hole above it was half blocked. Running on idle all night seems to be my issue .
its called an atomisation screen around the glow plug.
I keep getting a e-10 error I can’t figure it out I’ve replaced the glow plug cuz I took it apart and noticed the tip of the plug was cracked and broke, I also replaced the mesh that goes around the glow plug. The burn chamber is clean as a whistle. I only run diesel through this, the fuel line total from tank to unit maybe 2 and half foot. Another issue I’m having is priming I have the red controller I ain’t been able to find others like mine but when I try to push ok and up or on and up or down I get nothing but it seems to be priming on the initial start up and there is fuel all through the line. Any ideas advise and help would be so appreciated thanks again.
How do you have the fresh air intake for the burn chamber situated.
air intake is under the trailer attached to I-beam facing opposite direction as the exhaust (which is ported out the side)
Where'd you get the repair kit?
What model/brand is it?
I wanna get one just in case...
amazon.. don't believe there is a specific brand, just buy one for diesel heater chinese/german 5k model and it works perfectly
@@SevenWanderstheWorld thanks seven... you've come a long way bud!!!
Hi Seven see what you think about me putting Diesel heater in my truck . Van vanning way
i have a heater with 2 hours on it .E-8 code .. replaced fuel pump and full wire harness .. still no start.. pump will tick when in manual prime ..
I got a E8 when I was using a garden tractor battery and it got too low. I got a E10 when I was using too small a Guage wire connecting a battery that's about 30 ft away. Some times these error codes aren't very accurate.
Why didn't you show the little hole that lets the air in for the screen?
And what happens when E-18 is displayed????
Haha you used the word "gook" while working on a chinese heater....
hmm.. I was using word "gunk" as it sludge or sticky stuff and not the derogatory term (note I lived in Asia teaching english and had chinese girlfriend so I do have high respect and admire asian culture and people)
@@SevenWanderstheWorld I'm with you on respecting the Asian culture, but, of you've ever watched Blazing Saddles, you know what I mean....even the German culture... etc....etc...
Maybe stop buying cheap Chinese knock off heaters?
Shut up knobhead nobody asked you
Alternatively save for 10 years and buy an overpriced European one .
I bought two for less than half the price of a name brand. Use one, if it has a problem I switch it out and replace it for a few bucks.
It would take me years to make up the cost difference, including repairs and time.
