Thanks so much you save a senior disabled woman from a very cold canadian winter night. With your video I was able to restart my heater in less then 15 minutes and is toasty now in my campervan 😀 angels bless you John
Same here. I'm also a disabled senior. My heater starts, but sometimes shuts off. The winds are super high here since last night. When I get out of the van I'm going to turn it back on high for a bit. I also think I may have a dirty fuel filter.
@@TerriLynch park you van in a way that the wind cannot blow up your heater exhaust at all. Strong winds in the right direction will extinguish the heater when it blows up the exhaust.
Thank you for your video it just happen to me as well after one night of using new heater and exactly at four thirty in the morning my heater was out and o-8 code was showing the manual was ant very helpful and in panic I turned to Utube for an explanation and your video was starring me right in the face as soon as it gets day light I'll travel the fuel delivery and diagnose the problem thanks again.
I had E8 issues that were driving me mad. Ended up tearing apart the heater and found the combustion chamber coked up beyond belief. Cleaned it up and put it back together; runs better than new now..

I just turn it back on and it works. But ive been having this issue cuz i have old diesel in mine and poured diesel 911 in cuz i also have water in the system cuz the tank cracked open. So w8n for that to burn off. But for the 100bux i paid for my heater im glad it works at all. Its my 2nd year with it.
Thanks for the video. My heater did that twice. We have very high winds here last night and this morning. It starts but sometimes shuts off with that code. I can start it but I did notice before that, that the fuel filter looks dirty. I may just change that and check for sludge in the tank as well. Do you think that may help also.? I never would have thought about the wind. That may very well be the problem. That van is still rocking as I write this.
'is it wrong that i actually ikie that smell' :) I had to suck syphon mine twice recently, i liked the taste! Accidentally swalloed a bit, not pleasant to be burping diesel all day! I've only recently installed it for my shed, i now have the dreaded E-10 error to diagnose.
Not all heaters same warming message E 8 online means voltage. To prime mine is up and down held in together. Never prime them . I think your voltage drop and below 11 volts they won't run I have one in each my boats should run it of a 20lter Jerry can very safe . And your allowed red desiel for heating . Hope this helps
Thanks, mate!. From a cold morning Downunder. The newly installed CDH choked off, so l hit youtube to find out why. Nobody told me those cunning chinese had put a booby trap for new players in the fuel cap!. Mate, l would NEVER have figured that out. Cheers from South Australia.
You just destroyed the valve. When diesel hits the valve it wil close on the round surface of the cap, when there is no diesel hitting the valve and breathing air is needed, the valve wil come down and air flows by the valve ( 2 little openings at the stem of the valve) . Now diesel can spil through the hole you cut at the top of the valvestem.
Besides the point. It wasn't letting air in, it was faulty and who fills them to the brim anyway? That's just asking for problems. It now breathes and I get no seepage from it even if the tank is near full. This video has also helped many people out with the same problem. It's now a known problem (to many of us anyway).
@@VanOnTour Henk is right..Youve just destroyed the ONE WAY VALVE.. Its there to stop diesel fumes from exiting the tank and into the room. The valve allows air into the tank (as fuel level drops) past the silicone flap...
When it gets windy, especially wind gusts, my diesel heater stops with an 08 code. Sometimes if I take a vacuum and put it on the exhaust pipe, turn on the heater then turn on the vacuum it seems to work again for a short time till the wind blows. What do you think's going on? And you mentioned it in your video, how do you fix that? Thank you
More than likely you have a dip in the exhaust that's allowing condensation to gather at a low point, much like a trap below a sink. This is stopping the heater venting. Either straight the exhaust so it is gradually downhill all the way or drill a small hole in the base of the low point to allow water to drain.
Mine has different type cap just a hole and isn’t blocked , been a nightmare freezing weather minus 6 and turned heater up to 4 next thing stinks of burning smell and more smoke than ever before, pump still ticks but seems to have no strength pumps but full of air just can’t seem to get the air out undone the pipes tried bleeding and everything still no joy I think pump is partially blocked as quantity of diesel recently second hand cheap stuff can the pumps do this ? Anyone just not pumping round in quantity seems to air lock then gives up , even with it disconnected from the heater pitiful just not squirting
So I noticed that the whole time your screen showed the oil pump icon. Is that still showing up for you? I thought that indicated an issue with an oil pump failure.
@@VanOnTour only thing is kerosene reduces the life of the fuel pump. Due to the way these pumps work they rely on lubrication from the diesel/red diesel etc. A kerosene / diesel mix provides the best of both worlds, cleaner burn of kerosene and the lubrication of diesel
The pumps need no lubrication. This has been discussed and proven in great length on the Chinese diesel heater group on Facebook. Kerosene is just a slightly purer form of diesel.
You have to adjust the min and max fan speeds too, if it runs too cool and errors reduce the maximum fan speed in increments until it runs hot and reliable.

E-10 is normally power. Shorten the red positive lead to only what you need as it is too thin and causes voltage drop.

There are no drain holes. It's symmetrical.
You drill a small hole in the lowest point of the exhaust as a drain hole.
