🇬🇷 Spetses, Greece, from Porto Cheli

The Fantastic Greek Island of Spetses is 2 hours from Athens on a Ferry, and only 10 minutes from Porto Cheli.
it is 50 euros from Athens, but only 8.50 euros from Porto Cheli, where there is easy and free parking all around the port.

We took the ferry from porto Cheli and spent 24 hours with friends on Spetses, having driven from Nafplio in the Peloponnese, which takes about an hour. To drive from Athens would be about 2.5 hours.
Spetses is fantastic, with the very relaxed and upmarket Spetses town based around the Harbour, and with Hotels for all budgets. We booked last minute using Ferryscanner.com, and Booking.com. Our hotel cost 87 euros inc. breakfast, which for mid-September is not bad, but there are hotels for all budgets on Spetses, including the famous Poseidon Hotel right on the waterfront in Spetses town.
Porto Heli is also great, with hotels, including very upmarket resorts such as Amanzoe, where many celebrities are known to have stayed. Porto Cheli is also famous as a destination for sailing, with an amazing large natural harbour, and for great PADI diving all along the coast. There are also good beaches and restaurants.
We used a taxi boat to return to Porto Heli, as there was a ferry strike on the day of our return, but fortunately the taxi boats were still running. It is also easy though to visit the Island of Hydra, and Athens should you wish
