I'm a bit late to the party but an excellent review from someone who obviously loves his bike. Riese and Muller bikes are most desirable since there are no compromises with their builds and no fancy silly engineering.

My oh my, Mark... very good knowledge! It is a true champion, the Delite, and we wanted to do the bike justice with a personal review from Tristan himself. Who better to speak about the bike than an eBike Specialist who happens to own one!

I haven't seen these in the states, but I haven't really been looking. I've been on an EVELO Delta X, out of Sumner, WA and am starting my 5th year now. Time sure flies. I live in Florida where we have decent riding weather most of the year. I sold my truck 3.5 years ago and don't regret going E-bike at all. If you go this route, do your research and try not to go too cheap. That extra thousand dollars is worth it for decent quality that will last you years.

Great to hear from you, David! Yes, unlike other inner-city 'A-B' commuter bikes, the Delite really is the full-package, and can ultimately be that car-replacement, should you want it to. If there's any other content you'd like us to produce going forward then let us know.

A man of undeniable taste! Yes, the Nyon display does offer some really advanced features that make it best-in-class. A dropper is always handy, and as we always say across our stores, if you're going for the Homage, you might as well go DualBattery!

I love it! I am about to buy a Tinker however. At least I think I am... I currently commute into London via train, and then a tour hour additional commute to Leeds. My idea is for an R&M bike that I can easily take on both trains and use all week between accomodation and Leeds office, then come back same way. Whilst I love the look and sound of the Delite, I think the compact option is likely the better one. Maybe a Delite for the weekends...

R & M no compromise bike except that the CX motor only assists up to 20 mph - no thanks. I would need the Speed motor version that assists up to 28 mph and while I was at it the automatic shifting box. Also that rack sits so high the any kind of luggage would have to be down hanging or you will hit it when throwing your leg over the bike especially with that dropper seat pushed down which you didn't mention is another big advantage in having one on a road bike. I ride a Specialized Vado 5.0 which uses the Enviolo hub and auto shifting and it is pretty great. I just miss having that rear suspension like my emt bike has so I am interested in R&M with that beautiful Rolhof but would not want to give up any of the bits on the Vado mentioned.. Auto shifting is the cats pajamas once you have tried it.

Bob, thank you for getting in touch. The easiest way to answer this would be with a phone consultation with one of our eBike specialists. You can simply do that by booking via our website. The Homage can be set up in DualBattery, and is, of course, a step-through eBike... both are incredibly comfortable options, and have all of the above requirements... it just comes down to access and range!

Hi Denis, thanks for reaching out and sharing your thoughts. Whilst the Riese and Müller Delite is an ideal bike for individuals looking for a new way to get to work, we also stock a number of electric cargo bikes that are becoming an ever more popular choice of transport for families living in urban areas. Instead of running a second car, many of our customers have adopted using a cargo bike as a happier, healthier, flexible, cost effective and more climate friendly means of transport. Many of our electric cargo bikes also have compatible rain covers to keep small heads dry. In terms of your comment about locking up the Delite, we recommend customer's invest in a high quality lock such as the diamond rated new Anti-angle grinder Hiplok D1000 and a comprehensive insurance policy.

Shem, your eye for eBike mechanics is not very commendable. With Bosch eBike components, you buy top-tier quality from one of the most reputable engineering and hardware companies on the planet. Sure, you might find eBike motors and batteries elsewhere cheaper, but Bosch sets the standard for reliability, performance, and innovation in the industry. While the price tag may seem steep, they are products that are built to last, with superior performance and durability.

Less carbon print, less car. I'm all for it. But every ebike like this or even cargo ones I have looked at... 110-120 kg max for the rider weight. It sucks. I'm 6'2'', no extreme obesity, cycling, longboarding for commute, but I've only been 112 kg naked and after ten days of COVID. All dressed (for winter/rain) I'm 125 kg easily. Yet. I'm riding slim chromoly fixie for three years now and 25km+ on so-so roads are fine. Except, I can't climb on long steep hills. Just the rohloff hub costs $1500 so I don't think your $2000 bike can compare. The bikes youre talking about are not great. They are cheap, china made and won't last. Every single component on the delite is top quality, way more reliable and backed with warranty. The seemless integration, the comfort, it all costs money. Riese and muller are one of the only brands that even have full suspension with the gates belt and rohloff speedhub. It's unique and a beautiful bike. You aren't getting a bike like this for $2000.

I am retired and ride everyday, half of my riding is on dirt trails.
I am pissed because the Euroeans make fine e-bikes.
There is absolutely no contest as far as a throttle is concerned. The nuance and control with a throttle and safety comparisons are not in the same ballpark as pedal assist only.
Please you stubborn European dictators add throttles to your foreign sold e-bikes.

Which is why it's a great decision that Tristan wore the Hövding 3.0, the worlds safest airbag that is up to 8x safer than a traditional helmet. You can find more information surrounding the Hövding here: hovding.com/

@@FullychargedUK doesn't seem like much protection. Stated inflation time is 0.1 second, at 30 mph that's over 4 feet. In a head-on collision that gets reduced by half. NO THANKS!

You said: there are 2 types of carrier racks, one lighter and one with more capacity (like the one in the video I imagine)
    Are you sure?

Yes you can have a 'carrier rack' or 'pannier rack'. One is sleek and minimal, which has around 10kg of capacity. The other is the one in the video which has around 25kg I believe.
