I return to southern Alabama to continue where I left off. I take the Mobile Bay ferry, wander around Dauphin Island and then go to Mobile to visit the USS Alabama. See blogpost: travelingrobert.com/blog Please consider travelingrobert.com/suport
The tour of USS Alabama was phenomenal. Even more appreciated as I could have never climbed all of those steps and fit in those tight spaces to see what you saw. Wonderful!
Another great video, Robert! Really appreciate all the time you spent filming on the USS Alabama and USS Drum. Nice way to recognize all those who served on them.
This is how I discovered your channel. My Dad served aboard the USS Alabama so I looked it up and there you were! He was the barber so you know what kinda haircut I got as a kid. I also lived in Spanish Fort for a while. Beautiful area. Thank you!
Another place I never would have thought about visiting as a Swede. I learn alot about USA from you and Im thankful for that. Keep up the amazing work.
Really enjoyed the tour of the USS Alabama. I actually toured that ship years ago when I was a kid. My dad and his brother were on the USS Oklahoma on December 7th, 1941 and both were lucky to survive. The Oklahoma and the Arizona were the only two battleships destroyed that day.
WOW! Another super video! The visit of USS Alabama is priceless. It is so complex aboard, specially the turetts, first time I see the inside ! And the submarine also! Thank you very much Robert!
Loved the tour of the Battleship so amazing! Thinking of all the young men that served in the Navy during WWII on these ships . The trip to Dauphin Island was wonderful as well , seemed so low , right at sea level. Not sure I would want to be there during a storm . Yet again you have outdid yourself with a amazing video! Thanks for taking me along on your adventures! Have a blessed day! 🏝😊
This was something, cleaning my basement as I play ur video and sure enough I came across a mini teddy bear that I bought with my dearly departed wife who with me in 1989 travelled from Florida to Alabama and stopped and toured the USS Alabama! I was about to add the Teddy bear to my donation collection but watching this now may be a sign to hold onto it in keeping those memories! Excellent work Robert, regards from Canada!!
I toured the battleship Missouri in Pearl Harbor. I took the guided tour as it was only a few dollars more. It gets you into areas the self guided tour doesn't and the tour guide was really good.
Very cool, I live in northwest Al, we visit gulf shores every year, I haven't been to the U.S.S Al since I was a child, I just told my wife we have to go next time we are down there, my grandson would also love it! I love your content Robert! I binge watch all of your videos! Thank you brother!
Robert i think your videos are the best on UA-cam. Thank you for all the beautiful video 's and wonderful music. You are a very talented man. 💖 🎹 🎷 🎸 🍺🍻
I'm so glad you came back to Alabama, your showing me places in Alabama that I haven't seen before. I live here in Alabama, COVID-19 HAS RUINED EVERYTHING.
Thank you Robert for another great video. My wife and I have been binge watching all your travels. You have inspired me to document our RV fun on my channel. I hope to someday be half as good of a You Tuber as you. Keep up the good work!
I re-enlisted in the navy onboard the USS Alabama in 1980. The ceremony took place under the forward gun turret and was attended by my commanding officer who performed the ceremony as well as a visiting admiral. My entire division was present too. The ship I was stationed on was in dry dock at the back then ADDSCO.... Alabama dry dock and ship building company.
Hello Robert. Thank you for taking us on the trip with you. We'll meet up with you one of these days in our RV. Still work'n the bugs out and installing the solar. Safe travels my friend. Mark & Jenny from the Space Coast.
Robert, this was a much improved video. You are back on the road, flying your Drone. Enjoyed the USS Alabama. I will give you a pass on the cooking scene. We know you eat, you are still among us. Keep telling us about the places you go, the restaurants and campgrounds. You might want to type these in at the end of a video so we can freeze our picture and write down their names.
Great video! We just added another bullet to "our dream" list! Also, we love your music!! We are Cubans too, so we relate a lot to your videos. Thanks for your great job bringing us so much information and places to dream about going!!
Hey Robert, that looks like a nice upgrade from Minitini II. Looks like it will suit you well in future travels. Hey, I thought of you the other night when I was watching the new episode of The Grand Tour, "Lochdown" -- the hosts were towing some vintage trailers and things didn't work out too good for the trailers! They also had an entertaining RV episode ("International Buffoons Vacation") where they drove their modified rigs around the southwest and ended up in an RV demolition derby. Happy trails!
#200 Thank You for a fine video of USS Alabama BB-60 "The Mighty Bama". Since I know ships, I enjoyed the tour with you. I've been on that ship twice. 35,000/46,000 tons. 680X108X36 feet. Nine 16 inch 45 cal. rifles. Twenty 5 inch 38 cal. dual purpose rifles. Speed 28 knots. Crew 2,500 Officers and Ratings.
Hi, Robert 👍🏻👍🏻 Awesome !!! I enjoyed watching your adventure and tour of the USS Alabama, I was 8 yrs old when we were on vacation in Mobile and my Dad wanted to do the tour of the ship that’s where I found out I was afraid of heights we were at the very top just like you were I went over to the railing to look down I was on the ocean side I remember like it was yesterday I grabbed the rails my Dad said I turned white as a sheet lol I would not let go of the rails so my Dad had to carry me down, we toured the whole ship I especially liked the bow area where all the big gun turrets were located. Thanks for sharing, enjoy and have a Great week !!! Danny
Loved the tour. I remember visiting the USS Alabama many years ago and remembered thinking if I ever got lost in here, they wouldn't find me in 100 years (and no way a cell phone would work inside all that steel) You can definitely spend several days seeing the ship, sub, planes and everything else in that area.
Hey Robert, love the video's. I noticed that you did not cross your safety chains when you hitched up. If you cross your chains and something happened and it came loose the crossed chains will prevent the tongue gouging into the ground and really doing damage. Be safe out there brother. I had to be taught as well. God bless you with traveling mercy's.
Again Robert you provide another great RV travel video. My cousin and his wife have a house on Dauphin Island and I have stayed there twice. The battle ship Alabama is a must see if fellow RV's travel through the area.
Thank you for sharing this video it brings back many memories for me as I have toured the battleship several times and when I was young my family and I vacationed on dauphin island many times though it has changed so much since those days and also I was born in Mobile
I was stunned to stumble across that on Amazon Prime last night! Had no idea that you had made it to Amazon! Couldn't resist adding a 5-star review, and telling everyone on Amazon that you're on UA-cam as well---and to check out your other videos!!
Hey Robert. Thank you for the new video. We enjoyed it a lot. We have spent time on Dauphin Island; it is a beautiful little island. If you are in Mobile during the Christmas season, check out the Bellingrath Gardens. They have an awesome walking Christmas lights display. Have a great day.
Was on HMS Belfast few years ago, almost same memories with so tight ladders almost hitting with head ceilings...surely not for taller folks made, but yet almighty ships

Hi Robert, my husband and I look forward to your vlogs. The tour of USS Alabama etc was very interesting. Have you ever been to Dayton Ohio to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum? Very nice Robert! I've driven by and flown over the battleship museum area, but I have never stopped. Great footage. If you ever are in the Norfolk, VA area you'd enjoy the Nauticus Museum where the star of the show is the Battleship Wisconsin. It is set up very similar to the Alabama with the creepy mannequins etc. Gotta love Bucc-ee's! Great episode as I'm trying to get caught up from my hiatus.
Run Forest Run! LOL Sit lazy seagull sit! LOL This was very relaxing thanks Mr. Robert. The outside of that first plane looks like it's made with ductape.

Great video, as usual. I’ve visited the battleship a couple of times, during the summer. It gets very hot.. You seek out the few spots that do have AC.
Robert, if you like complex systems and equipment, hit me up sometime when coming through NC near I95. I can give you a tour of the most state-of-the-art and one of the largest pharmaceutical plants in the country, still under construction right now. It's only 20 minutes off 95.

Thank you. I think either Amazon or Walmart. It is actually meant for a shower curtain, but that didn't work out so we taped it to the kitchen wall.
Great video 👍hey we would like it if you give the date you were there in your visit! Thanks
Hello Robert,
this video was awesome. One of your best I'd say. Thanks for sharing.

Traveling Robert Aye Captain....👍🏾
How do you do all that driving...and how many miles on the new truck?
Robert, if you like complex systems and equipment, hit me up sometime when coming through NC near I95. I can give you a tour of the most state-of-the-art and one of the largest pharmaceutical plants in the country, still under construction right now. It's only 20 minutes off 95.
Great video I really enjoyed watching!
