  • After almost six days boondocking in the desert, I was ready for some full hookups and a long shower, so I checked into an RV park in the Phoenix suburb of Goodyear. Join me for two days of breweries, saloons, butte climbs, and tacos in Tempe, Scottsdale and Apache Junction. We also drive the Apache Trail to Tortilla Flat.

      Always & I love the fact he hasn't changed to make so called improvements.I feel his style & technique is perfect & is much needed in these times we are living in where most UA-camrs want to use cliche sayings, phrases & actions....Robert is really down to earth & does not turn the viewer off with garbage music or offensive language or commentary.....You can actually make Robert's videos your own personal escapes because Robert leaves his videos neutral without subjecting his material to only a limited demographic of viewers.

    Robert, we followed a similar route (I-40 from Huntsville after leaving Gulf Shores) to the west before returning through Utah across I-70 on our way back to NW PA. We took tons of still photos but none tell the stories of what we saw, like your vids do.
    We will be showing your latest uploads to our friends and family. Your vids tell our story so much better than our pics.
    Your stories are so inspiring and so beautifully done. Thank you and good luck in your travels. 🍻🍻🍻 ipa
    PS. We know that feeling of the picnic table location too..... GOOD GRIEF!!! 😷

    Apache trail was beautiful.. You hit it at a perfect time of day. The lighting made it dramatic. Those roads looked brand new. I have heard in the past that they use recycled tires to build the roads in that state.

    Next trip to Phoenix, consider doing the Piesetwa Peak hike on the north side of Phoenix in the Phoenix Mountain Park. It is a good climb but a much better trail than Camelback. It basically follows the top of a ridge so you get a lot of good views and breezes for a much cooler hike. It is a 360 degree view from the top. Best to go during the week in the winter.
    Another activity for you next time is a drive through South Mountain Park and a drive up South Mountain along the south edge of Phoenix. It is also a beautiful view from the top and you do not have hike after the tacos!
    You did a great job showcasing the Valley of the Sun.

      Yea it's because Phoenix grew too quickly, we never really had the chance to build up the downtown as much, Phoenix is actually still a pretty "new" city compared to most others. The fact that it's so incredibly spread out doesn't help either, most of the action happens in the suburbs of Tempe, Scottsdale, etc rather than the core of Phoenix itself.

    • @RedroomStudios
      @RedroomStudios 5 років тому

      @@orlanzo2621 thanks for sharing your insight.... I am sure there are a lot of factors that influence that. as a comparison Calgary Canada was settled at around the same time as Phoenix, is only 1/3 of it's population but has a far bigger skyline. I find American cities tend to be more spread out and sprawling.
      hope to make it out to Arizona one of these years and Robert's videos have me more inspired to do so. we tend to travel to locations that are on the ocean... California, Hawaii, Caribbean as well as Europe. this would probably be much more affordable as I could drive there in my own car.

    I think I heard your voice on a cartoon the other day, you are a musician and also voice over? if not, you need to be. I love your videos and there is no one in this entire youtube world would hold my interest for 4 hours.....thank you for your work.

    Robert...thx for the tour around my old stomping grounds...I would suggest some horseback riding...a trip up South Mountain as well...lot’s of great Mexican restaurants and places to get some cowboy beans and a nice steak 🥩...perhaps someday when you’re not on a roll.
