Nice Video, but I have a weird question. Are there left or right marks on the new projectors? I ordered an installed mine. But even though the adjustment for high and low beam are right, the projector now looks really off in the mount.
How do i adjust the new projector? Should it be aimed at the center of the hotspot of the high beam ? That's the most annoying part of the whole install
I dont know what evox R2 you have? I have 3 sets of Synolin with green adapter as you have (from their store I bought it maybe 2 years ago) but make relative alignment between high beam and low beam e39 is almost impossible.So lense cant be at Exact center.........
I don't remember what brand name I have. Adjusting is very frustrating and takes lots of patience and some luck. I didn't get it exactly centered, but close enough as I don't even drive at night.
converting a BMW e39 uk headlights to EVOX-R V2.0 D2S Bi xenon.... i noticed that all the EVOX-R V2.0 D2S Bi xenon sold are with a US beam pattern .....can those me modified to be used in uk? how? can the cutoff be inverted? thanx
Good question. Honestly, I don't know. If you are handy and want to go that route you could probably disassemble the projector and flip the cutoff shield but as there are moving parts, probably not that simple. If you do this, would be cool you made a video or a diy thread as there is no documentation I could find on this.
If by high beam you mean solenoid wires I left unconnected in the video then I guess technically yes. It will flash a lightbulb out warning unless codes out and might not pass inspection though. I later connected said wire to original high beam wires so now I have original halogen high beam and also have a xenon main beam that turns into a highbeam.
@@blagojcefiliposki1170 i would definitely recommend if your light output is poor. Before I changed these my fog lights provided more light than my driving lights. It is literally a day and night difference from 20 year old worn out projectors
I am absolutely not looking forward to this job, but I ordered the EvoX 2.0 already and want that Bi-Xenon function so badly! But my car is a 4/03 production. So maybe I need to find some used head lights first.. Nice video!
I couldn't find exact splitter I used. But basically it was highbeam connector for car harness on one side and 2 connectors on other side, one for high beams in headlight and one for bixenon that I changed to fit one I installed in the video
Wires connect solenoid to high beam harness. At the time of filming I didn't have a splitter. You connect it to high beams so that when you pull your high beam stalk, it moves a cutoff panel in front of your low beams turning it into high beam. So now you have your xenons working as high beams as well as old halogen high beams.
I had an extra pair and was curious how they worked and if they celis light could be put in a different housing. Those rear light bars would look amazing on e31 if I ever get my hands on one.
@@wheresfuninthat yes they are bolt on if you don't mind the gap. Probably would work fine as is but the gap really bugged me. I'd recommend buying v1 instead of v2 for e39. As for the new studs I just got a threaded rod with appropriate nuts and cut it to pieces. I think it was m8 but could be misremembering. You can easily measure the stock stud threads when they are out

Jos näen kaiken tuon vaivan projektorien vaihtamiseksi niin kannattaako umpion sisältä vaihtaa jotakin samalla kertaa? Umpioita ei ole avattu koskaan eikä xenonien säätölaitteille ole tarvinnut vielä tehdä mitään. Jännittää aloittaa monimutkainen projekti :-)
Vaihda säätötangot niin ei tarvi myöhemmin enää valoja availla. Saa aluniinisena jos ei halua enää ikinä niitä ajatella, mutta muovisetkin luultavasti kestää auton loppuiän. Jos tekisin ite uudestaan niin ehdottomasti v1 projektoreilla. Maksaa muutaman kympin enemmän mut pitäis olla suoraan asennettavat. Jos ei vieläkään valoteho riitä niin ballastit vaihtoon.

Säätötangot tais olla tuningdesignista ja projektorit xenonkaupasta. Jos tuon bixenonin haluat toimimaan niin tarvii vetää johdot solenoidilta pitkien liittimelle. Projektorien mukana tuli pieni pätkä johtoa mutta adapterin ainakin vaatii jos ei halua leikellä auton johtosarjaa. Osien väliin uraan jää alkuperäiset liimat. Lämmittää uudestaan ja painaa kiinni niin pysyy. Vai tarkoititko tuota butyyliteippiä? Se pitää vain noi kumit kiinni umpiossa.

Not sure if there is a difference. The should both have cutoff on the same side, so it really shouldn't matter

Thanks. Non bakeable lights are a pain. It's very hard to get the olf leans cleanly off to fit a new one. Did you do it yet? How did it go?
what did u do with ground cable that was connected to old projector?
I can't check now as the M is in winter storage and I don't remember. Probably grounded it to metal part of new projector
