Definitely puts it in perspective how powerful it was in "All good things". We saw it punch through Klingon ships but seeing that it can hold its own against Kobayashi Maru level odds is awesome.
@@dahlesa Well once the individual shot goes right thru there's no point in shooting at that spot anymore. Either they could short burst different spots like on the show or walk the Lance down the hull of the ship. Short bursts would use less energy since there's stoppage in-between shots.
I can understand why keeping the phaser lance on-line is a problem. Without a weakness to exploit, the Galaxy-X would just one-shot any ship it went up against, like you did multiple times here. That said, needing six Galaxy Class ships to overwhelm it, is a pretty good showing for the X.
You need to use the upper side of the saucer to protect the Lance emitter. As you turn the ship roll it so the side of the Lance isn't exposed. Ex: You turn the ship to the right you need to roll the ship a little to the left so the saucer now blocks incoming fire to the Lance. Same with explosions.
If you can get them to fire at the top of your ship and protect your mega weapon, I bet you could do a lot more. Three galaxies are equivalent to a dominion battleship and you one shot at one of those pretty dang quick. So ultimately you probably could do a lot more than six.
Already done it. The scimitar and dominion ships die within seconds. The regents flagship takes about 20 seconds to destroy. It's so overpowered it's not even fun to play

We saw 9 Galaxy's on screen at once on DS9, we know the Yamato, the Enterprise and the Odyssey weren't there. That make there an absolute minimum of 12 assuming all galaxy's in existence were on screen at the same time on DS9. There were likely several dozens by the end of the original continuity.
The Galaxy class ships from Tng parallels met for a conference and decided they needed to show the Galaxy X class whom actually won the Dominion War. Now, it is fascinating to see what would happen if the dreadnought Galaxy X battleship actually had weapons from its era in main canon. I list a possible arsenal it might bring. Rapid fire Quantum torpedoes. Actual working devastating phase cannons and a cloak they could fire through! Happy holidays! Nice battle too.
If we're just making stuff up not mentioned anywhere on the show, it should have had Merlin on top of the saucer shooting the other ships with magic lightning. More exciting
If I could make a small request. Is it possible that at the beginning of the video when you're introducing the ships that will be fighting can you give us a brief overview of what kind of ships they are what's the difference between them and a little bit of the history of the vehicles just because I really like Star Trek but I've never really gotten deep into the lore

I just got Paramount+ back, so I was binge watching Lower Decks again. I forgot that their cheif medical officer was the one who practically swears every other word. 😆 She doesn't care much about pain because she barely feels any herself. She even shrugged off a direct hit from a phaser on kill. 😄 As for the phaser lance (aside from being knocked out), it's only weakness is that it has no lock... it must be aimed manually (for the most part). Yep, the answer is 6. The amount of firepower kept knocking out all your weapons, but your shields were still in good shape.

The stock Galaxy Class here held up way better than I thought it would, took much more punishment from the phaser lance than I expected. The impression I got from the TNG episode was that the phaser lance was extremely powerful, piercing through the shield AND the hull of the Klingon Negh'Var variant ship relatively easily, a few shots to destroy the warship.
I grew up with the TOS movies, so the Constitution refit will always be my number one choice... but I also grew up with TNG and there is just something intimidating and frightening about a Galaxy Class when it's bearing down on you. I think it has something to do with the wide berth where other ships are a bit more slim when you look at them head on. To me, personally, it wouldn't seem out of place for the Galaxy X to be equipped with quantum torpedo's and later generation phasers, even in an alternate timeline.
I own the Fleet variant of this ship in Star Trek Online there it is classed as a Dreadnaught. The Future Enterprise or X class is a beast when built correctly in STO. For in STO i do not run any kind of torpedo's on the ship at all it is a complete phaser build with the omnidirectional Borg and Ancient cutting beams. Mine atm is a pve build as pvp is a whole different story as to how you would fit it. I have not played Bridge Commander for years and years i may pick it up again seeing as all these ships have been added would not mind having a go. Love your vids mate keep em coming. :)
I want to see the Horatio vs the Renegade. I’ve never seen that battle conveyed, so I want to see how the New Orleans managed to take down the Ambassador class
The intial idea of the galaxy class was a limited productio run deep space long endurance exploration vessel. Yknow. The best and brightest, new frontiers. Spearhead out, doing initial surveys, leaving notes for the following "grunts" of exploration in their miranda dinghis. Heck, the enterprise never got to do that. Starfleet never let em gals out of their "oh fck or shortsightedness has doomed us" brushfire work.
While it may be that 6 stock Galaxys overwhelmed it, I wouldn't have rammed just for kicks because it would have been nice to see if 6 could be done and then 7 is the true limit.

I think that dreadnought has among the greatest alpha strikes in the universe. It's phaser lance cut through an undamaged and fully shielded Klingon battleship with special hull plating like a hot knife through butter. I would love to know how it would perform against a Borg cube when on a modulating frequency or whatever.

1:21 Q played us again and overalpped first season, fourth season and Generations Enterprise. Also 3:48 you never saw a Galaxy losing its right nacelle and survive. That's how we know something went wrong. After seeing the entire video, I am still not sure if the battle should have ended like that. I am unsure why, one the one hand, the ship was from an alternate final set near the end of the 24th century and was a warship with a powerful spinal lance and everything, I could totally see the vessel spamming the phaser lance to destroy the other Galaxy-class vessels. On the other, not sure how strong their shields would be... probably stronger than a regular galaxy-class, but something about the shields made me think they were a bit too strong. Eh, Idk, it's just a feeling. From seen footage the mod's version with powerful shields would probably be accurate as well.

You probably would have handled all 6 Galaxies if you focused on the lowest most target so the others are hitting your top shields rather than being able to fire on the lance.

On level of shield and weapon technology, the Galaxy X, without the lance, should be comparable to the Enterprise F. So, I wonder how the F would do in this same scenario.

the one thing the game can't show is that the galaxy x shields are designed for weapons yields of 2395 hence the 2364-2370 galaxies weapons are too weak to actually overcome the galaxy x shields.
You lost due too poor tactics. At the start of the battle, you let 3 of them get beneath you, and fire up at the phaser lance. That set you on the back foot for the remainder of the fight. Protect the belly, and keep sending photon torpedoes, and you will win.
How is it that the X is taking damage to the hull while the shields aren't showing any drain? Especially with systems being knocked out but shields are fine.
Idk if you've done it before but how many TOS connies it takes to take out a Galaxy? Hell you could make a series just on how many TOS connies does it take to beat X ship.
Yes, but it is established in canon. There are several examples of high-powered beam weapons that can nuke ships. DS9's heavy phasers, Galor Class' heavy beam cannon, the beam weapons on the Cardie Orbital Weapon Platforms. The Romulan heavy disruptor on Warbirds.
@@sammy-gd7hw Think of it as the Enterprise using the deflector dish weapon from Best of Both Worlds 2 however routed to a giant phaser assembly we see so it doesn't blow out the deflector dish and disable the ship for several hours.
I don't think the other ships are taking out the lance but you are damaging it by keeping it firing for too long. Just like how they don't constantly keep a phaser arrays firing the same thing is probably true about the phaser lance. Too much power flowing through a system designed to be fired in bursts probable overloads the systems requiring repairs.
This might be a bit of back seat piloting, but you really need to make use of roll (q/e) more often! >_< It allows much more effective protection of your ventral shield.
Ever heard of a tactical retreat? You could probably take on 12 Galaxy class ships if you could stop getting surrounded. Could you do an in-system warp to give yourself some space?
That would be an interesting one because it's torpedoes are significantly more powerful but it fires far fewer of them. It would probably be less than 6 though.
Aside from Starfleet tech being vastly superior and beating everything when they stop holding back (supported by some evidence but narratively inconvenient and not an idea I like), there's no reason the Galaxy-X should be any meaner than a Negh'Var. Both ships have similar size and are armed presumably to the max of what they can use, including giant forward weapons.
The phaser of the galaxy X is equal to 7 galaxy class firing ALL of its phasers at the exact same time, without the lance, it’s phasers are equal to 2 galaxy classes firing all their weapons at the exact same time.
Still have limited personnel and manufacturing capacity. Post scarcity society is mainly based on energy generation and individual needs being met. Dilithium is also not replicable as per canon.

That GX is way too OP. There's no way it should be able to just sit and absorb so much firepower, especially from it's sister ships (albeit some 30/40 years behind in tech).

I always thought that the central pylon should have had a Nebula-style tactical pod mounted atop it.

The in-game version may not have a cloak. Some of the in-game ships don't have all the features of the on-screen versions.

Tough fight. I had a similar ship duplication glitch like you got in the first fight when using the Total TOS Mod.

Why didn't you use the pulse phasers on most of the ships? When the phaser Lance went offline the pulse could have filled the gap!

You lost due too poor tactics. At the start of the battle, you let 3 of them get beneath you, and fire up at the phaser lance. That set you on the back foot for the remainder of the fight. Protect the belly, and keep sending photon torpedoes, and you will win.
Now, do a Galaxy X against Sovereigns or Prometheuses or even Defiants - basically any ship that can fire quantum torps

How is it that the X is taking damage to the hull while the shields aren't showing any drain? Especially with systems being knocked out but shields are fine.

Yes, but it is established in canon. There are several examples of high-powered beam weapons that can nuke ships. DS9's heavy phasers, Galor Class' heavy beam cannon, the beam weapons on the Cardie Orbital Weapon Platforms. The Romulan heavy disruptor on Warbirds.

I don't think the other ships are taking out the lance but you are damaging it by keeping it firing for too long. Just like how they don't constantly keep a phaser arrays firing the same thing is probably true about the phaser lance. Too much power flowing through a system designed to be fired in bursts probable overloads the systems requiring repairs.

That would be an interesting one because it's torpedoes are significantly more powerful but it fires far fewer of them. It would probably be less than 6 though.
Aside from Starfleet tech being vastly superior and beating everything when they stop holding back (supported by some evidence but narratively inconvenient and not an idea I like), there's no reason the Galaxy-X should be any meaner than a Negh'Var. Both ships have similar size and are armed presumably to the max of what they can use, including giant forward weapons.
The phaser of the galaxy X is equal to 7 galaxy class firing ALL of its phasers at the exact same time, without the lance, it’s phasers are equal to 2 galaxy classes firing all their weapons at the exact same time.

That GX is way too OP. There's no way it should be able to just sit and absorb so much firepower, especially from it's sister ships (albeit some 30/40 years behind in tech).
