- This is a DIY removable remote deploying and retracting stake out pole. The EMT conduit in this prototype is shorter than what should be used in the actual system. The EMT conduit can be exchanged with other types of poles if desired. The EMT was left open so it could be cleaned out with a hose.
Parts:
Minn Kota trolling motor mount (or equivalent).
1/2 inch diameter EMT conduit.
3/4 inch diameter PVC pipe.
Harken 29mm (cheek block) pulley.
Everbilt nickle plated pulley.
Stainless steel hose clamp.
Stainless steel 1/4 - 20 eye bolt with nut.
Quick link.
Paracord (550).
Stainless steel 10 - 24 bolts.
This is a great video and great idea. I will use this to make one for my skiff. The only thing I am adding is some weight to the top of the pole, so when it goes down, the weight pushes it deeper into the ground so it holds better. Thank you for the idea.
Really nice simple design! I will try to copy this for my kayak. Thank you so much for sharing
Great idea and presentation. Common sense easy to find parts. BRAVO!
Good use of the leftover clamps from the trolling motor.
Excellent design thanks for sharing !😃👍
Very nice design - well thought-out.
Best one I have seen! I’m making this for my perception outlaw 11.5!
Thanks so much for this idea. I don't want to drill any holes in a nucanoe flint
Nice work. I made on similar!! They are handy
I'm impressed
I see you have an X Seat on the kayak now. Is this the same kayak you had a few yearrs ago when you mounted a boat seat on a NuCanoe base?
Fucking Awesome !! I owe ya a beer! Thanks for saving me hundreds of dollars
Nice remote ........
All I'm saying is this is some genius shit. You need to patent and manufacture this so us poor guys who cant afford the power pole micros have a decent deployable stake out system. I mean anchor trollies are all well and good, but id rather cast forward in a river than from the side.
Nice job 👍 does the stake out pole stay on the boat when you transport it?. I did something kinda similar, I used a 1/2" fiberglass pole 8' long and made a aluminum tip with a blunt point that slip's over the end of the pole with a removable pin so I could detach the point and remove the pole when thansporting the boat.
Have you had any concers/problems with the shaft not having enough flex because its metal? I had a similar concept to yours, I'm just worried about the mount breaking or damaging the kayak because there's not enough give to the setup.
Can you eliminate the lower pulley and just tie to the eyebolt?
Is there a certain size of minn Kota trolling mount you used, because there are a lot of different models
I can’t seem to find the mount anywhere ....where did you find yours?
What size is that hose clamp?
