High testosterone doesn’t necessarily high cholesterol, depends of lifestyle, genetic, supplements. I knew a guy and seen is bloodwork with 400mg Test/week and he’s bloodwork came back 100% on point. Personal I prefer having high Test with healthy lifestyle instead of fat, lazy, drinking and smoking like 80% of the population. I can tell you the person with high Test will die after the unhealthy person.
My father in law was in TRT (100mg a week) for ever 40 years. He died at 88. I would drop him off at the local senior center and when I’d get his walker out the trunk I’d sometimes notice his viagra in there. He was 80 years old and still chasing women.
100% agree with Steve . There is no free lunch . Average healthy males produce around 7 mg of testosterone /week . And that's in a pulsatile manner ( not like exogenous testosterone ). That's 49 mg /week . And I notice every guy wants to start their TRT at 200mg/week....... You won't die at this dosage but you are just taking more risks longterm . Most people on TRT have their HDL out of range ( even at a small dosage ) and that's not ideal . The smart thing to do with TRT is to take the lowest dosage that makes you happy . Not wow, not superman , just normal happy. I think ( personal opinion) that the safe zone for longterm is between 100-150mg /week.
That’s my thoughts also, just started and on a lot of videos people jumping on a ML of Cyp at 200mg a week, and have never done “gear”... I’ve used steroids over the years, I’ve now decided to stop “cycling” and PCT... my trt is 100mg per week of Cyp and i can’t see me going any higher...
Insufficient data. We don't know what normal T should be, only average. What's worse, nobody's rushing to find out. That alone makes me suspect that the true reading is a lot higher than those antiquated and unscientific charts doctors use. Reminds me of the old height/weight chats that indicated I was unhealthy and never fit into. In fact, I didn't fit because I was above average: a person that works out, has a higher T than someone that is sedentary. I went half my life before they finally admitted those charts were in error and revised them to better represent the varying degrees of fitness in the population. That is, if they tested only fit males that have workout for at least the past 10 years, they would have a totally different reading from what we now consider normal. One things for sure, these things are constantly in flux, and will change as we gather more and more information on the subject. Its also true that public opinion and stigmas on remedies effect their use and proliferation. Steroids is a bad word in American society. Just ask any medical profession and notice their initial expression.
Went from 200 to 1069 in 3 months. I take 0.5ml a week but the doctor said 1069 was too high. He cut me to 0.5ml every 2 weeks and now I'm back to feeling like crap. No drive. Back in depression while dealing with CPTSD since a teen (51 now). I don't understand doctors.. I've been miserable my whole life and now I'm feeling better than I ever have before... C'mon, let me enjoy my last couple of decades of life...
Been there.Find a better Dr.Every two weeks is nonsense. You might need 70 mg. per week.Dr.s are now looking at twice a week.low dose.Feel for you,the crash is brutal
The older generation might not have been as muscular, but muscle comes from tearing the muscles in a specific way and eating a surplus of calories, they were however not as overweight in general I'd say.
I’m a big fan of when Vigorous Steve talks like he’s a normal human! I’ve tried watching some of his vids and it’s like trying to get my Master in med school
High testosterone men don’t always look muscular. That’s mainly down to genetics and explains why even some women can be very muscular naturally. My test level is always above 800 with a reference range up to 900 here in the uk. My body weight is 60kg at 182cm. I am even below normal on the bmi index
@@immers2410 remember natty people don't have test stable around the day (you get bloodwork in jejum) so nobidy have "high test" that's why you think a person with theorycally "high test" would not be muscular while on the point, roided up people really do became muscular.
Great video! I find the higher my testosterone, the calmer I am. Not sedated or carefree... But just more chill. It's hard to explain. I am on 200mg/week. I feel amazing. My anxiety is much lower than it was on 100mg/week. Why? Who knows.. But everyone is different! It's important to find a good doctor!! My doc (a female) is unbelievably good. She did make me do A full physical, EKG, echocardiogram, and liver/abdominal ultrasound before starting. All is well and blood work is good. Very important!
Been on TRT two injections a week overall for a total of around 120 mg a week for the past decade. Just last week decided to dose every day instead about 30 mg so 210mg overall a week and first thing I noticed right away was an unbelievable calmness come over me to go along with a much higher motivation level. Almost a perfect combination of calm energy. Never "noticed' much from TRT in past at 120mg a week and didn't expect to notice much with increase but actually did instantly. Kicking myself for not doing this sooner.
wow that alot for starting trt. good for you though for taking your overall health so seriously. most ppl would just say f that im getting another doctor.
Current reference ranges are inaccurate at best. Over the last 5 years the reference range has decreased at a steady rate. Go back 20 years in the reference range was 600 to 1400 ng/dl. Currently as of July 2022 it's 250 to 750. If you want accurate reference ranges, get them from a population that isn't bombarded by endocrine disruptors.
@@caseyshaw8453 I don't remember exactly were I got it from but its not really difficult to figure out. I mean its a common phrase quoted among trt expert's. Testosterone levels have been declining in males and females for decades. With that being said i would agree its not common knowledge or easy to find. If i remember correctly i originally tried googling testosterone levels in 1960or something along those lines and found nothing. I think a trt "specialist" professional who did studies on declining testosterone levels did vid on UA-cam. Were it is or how to find it exactly i don't know.
@@caseyshaw8453 Normal lab ranges are values that 95% of a ‘healthy’ population falls into. They help doctors make diagnoses and treatment decisions. But they don’t always tell you what are optimal lab test levels. In some cases, normal ranges are created using populations that contain a significant number of unhealthy individuals, leading to ranges that don’t reflect a healthy population. Many Doctors do not have a clue about that. Let’s take the fact that Free Testosterone ref ranges have gone from 15-42nmol/dL down to 9-30nmol/dL. . before if you had 15-18 it was borderline worrisome. Now they think it’s great. Before if you had 8-11 you were considered very sick, now they will not even give you most often proper treatment if it’s not even lower. And many blood ranges are like that.
Regarding men not having higher testosterone in the past because they weren't muscular. This would have had way more to do with diet than hormone levels.
They may not have all been muscular, perhaps becouse gym coulture wasnt as popular as now? But i think most the men back in the day were more masculine looking then guys today, that is a good sign of higher Testosterone.
My test levels before trt were 983 Ng/dl, but my SHBG was way over the reference range, so now that I’m on trt 200 mg’s a week I’m at 1400, but I feel great and all of my markers are find so, it’s dependent per person
I take 180/mg’s Monday & Friday. I feel amazing. No high blood pressure and my other markers are right where they’re supposed to be. I feel amazing. I thought I had bad anger when in all reality it was my low test. Yes my dose is high because I’m doing a small cycle and then going back to 75mg’s every Ami day and Friday. Everyone is different!
I started trt after 11.8 nmol/l. I started injecting subcutaneously test cyp 100 mg per week split between 3 injections. Added hcg 980iu split between 3 injections per week. My bloodwork came back with test at 79.6 nmol/l . way above normal range. In fact three times normal range. After conversion 2295 ng/dl.
250 mg testosterone enanthate every 10 days put me at " over 52 nanomoles per DL " I looked up what 52 nano moles in American conversion is and its 1500 ng per dl.
I was on 200mg/week TRT for 2 years and all was good and recently got rid of TRT clinic and have been doing 300mg/week for 10 weeks and my labs look fine. HOPEFULLY they continue to be good. I'm gonna keep running 300 as long as the labs come back fine.

Did you just say 5000MG is not unheard of in the body building community? Wow! That's insane. I honestly feel like taking testosterone at higher doses can be done safely (somewhat or relatively) but there's a point where that isn't feasible in the slightest.
5g is definitely not unheard of in bodybuilding, powerlifting or strongman. At his autopsy Dallas McCarver's TT was 57K. I saw some estimates that he would be taking up to 10g to get to this level. Bodybuilders take many compounds. I think 5g total of all compounds is not uncommon. They are not using 5g of just test.

I'm 38 and my total testosterone was taken recently and it was 919, my SHBG is 100 though so my free T is only 38. I had a second test late in the day and Total was 872 and free was 34. I was given TRT to bring up my free T because I've been feeling more and more crappy over the last two years. Every other blood metric is perfect and I am in physically excellent shape. I'm binge watching videos on TRT first before I go ahead and start injecting TRT and HCG. Feels like there is something my doctor is missing since its my SHBG binding up all my test and if I could just lower that I would be fine.
@@immers2410 I got sick of feeling like crap and started the TRT. I would rather not have to stick myself with needles but the healthcare system in the US is trash and I was just bouncing from doctor to doctor.
First, feeling "crappy" is unscientific, especially where there are predetermine symptoms to low testosterone. Feeling crappy can be caused by a million things. Second, men under 45 should always have their blood drawn in the morning (beginning of your day) before 8:00 AM. You want to test it at its highest, since test level decline as the day progresses.
@@krane15 Read 4 or 5 comments down where I explain if you are interested. Feeling crappy was a symptom of the low free T caused by a spike in SHBG likely due to a brain hemorrhage I suffered from a motorcycle accident. All of this has already been confirmed by dozens of tests and multiple doctors.
Dude that’s exactly how I am right now. Been on 200MG weekly since last August and have been around 800 ng/dl and now all of a sudden I’m at 1756 ng/dl and my AST is 76! Like how is that possible?! Only thing I’ve changed is that I started working out. That’s it. Nothing supplement wise besides BCAAs and that was after bloodwork. Hematocrit is 52.6. Was 48 prior to TRT.
Mine was fucked up back in December '18. My ALT was 85 and AST 91 but I was on 600MG of Sustanon & 150MG of Trenbolone (that shit is super toxic). My AST is still slightly out of range & I've been off for close to two years. My hairline got screwed too.

Men certainly had higher testosterone levels generations ago, even if they didn't lift weights. After almost 7 years of natural training I finally decided to try it. Almost a month ago I did full blood work and my Testosterone was at 500 ng/dL. Then started taking 250 mg Testosterone Enanthate per week and last week again did a blood work. My levels were at 2600 ng/dL. Feeling good, no water retention, no high blood pressure, no elevated liver enzymes. Of course my diet is strict and taking supplements for liver support, cholesterol and etc. Feeling great. Crazy gains and weight goes up. All okay for now but after some months of gains will lower it to real TRT dose to be in the reference range. Long term will be hard to stay healthy at such high levels. Good video.
I'm 42, and my testosterone level was at 58. I've been on TRT for about a month, and I don't feel any difference. I'm patiently waiting for it to start working.
@joogullae3456 It's 200mg, and I'm taking 0.25 shot twice a week. She gave me a 3 months supply. As for the Ester, my doctor didn't say anything about it, as far as i can remember. I go back in 3 months to see where I'm at.
@@mrwnking 200mg per ml? Your taking .25ml per week? So thats 50 mg once a week?no wonder you aren't feeling shit. You should probably be taking 200mg a week total, everyone's different. Depending on the ester you might want to do 100mg twice a week,, or 50mg 4 times a week.
I see you're taking 100mg total, 50mg twice a week. You should be taking 100mg twice a week. Let her know you aren't feeling any benefits. Wish you the best sir.
I've seen a guy on a forum who reported his natural levels of Test were ~1300. He only discovered it cause he was doing bloodwork before he did his first cycle. He described himself as an avg looking asian dude. He did say that his modest cycle of 250mg was giving him gains (memory is getting vague but I'm pretty sure he said his test on cycle was ~1500). It's interesting. I too have always been skeptical of these claims our Test levels were so much higher a generation or two ago. I'm no Dr but I would assume if you're bloodwork is all within the normal ranges then you can run that much until your bloodwork starts going out of range. There's probably people who can run 1 gram per week and still be healthy and others who are having out of range scores at ~800ng.
You can have high testosterone levels and still feel like shit, especially if your SHBG is high. High SHBG usually means you’re gonna have low free t. My dad for example is 60+ and his total T was over 800 last time I looked at his lab work, but his Free T was below the reference range.
Brilliant deduction. I couldn't agree more. Furthermore, if you get treated, you should get treated for optimal recovery, not minimal. Who goes to the doctor to do that? Patient: Doctor I have a broken leg, but I want you to fix it so that I can barely be able to walk.
Who came up with the reference range anyway?? What we think about what’s healthy continuously changes. I don’t trust the references based off geographical studies.
LOL. They had very thick bones and a very different physiology. I saw a lecture where the experts had come up with some calculations based on bone strength and the size of the muscle attachments. They calculated that the average 5’ 5” Neanderthal male could bench around 600 pounds. Fugggg.
Currently running 0.8mL per week of 200mg test cyp for trt, microdosed daily with my total t at 1267 with a free T of 364 pg/mL, estradiol of 59, hct of 47, prolactin, shbg, progesterone, dhea and free t3, tsh and psa all within normal reference range. My question is do you think that if I'm suffering from no side effects and I'm actually feeling much better, that this dose is sustainable long term? I know you can't give Medical advice, but my question is more so, even though I'm feeling great where I am, does the dose seem too high to be safe long term?
It think you should measure the conversion products.. how your estogen and DHT levels are (prostate etc).. i also heard, that high Test levels are controproductive for ligament/ tendonhealth over a longer period of time.. i'd say 250mg of like Test Enanthate or Cypionate a Week is "to me" still a TRT - everything above that.. you're "on".. i mean no male produces like 30mg of Testosterone a Day, right? - maybe it would be even better to have 150mg of Test and 100mg of Nandrolone? Problem is.. 99% of Test then gets bound to SHBG anyways - so rather check how to keep your SHBG to a rather lower level (Boron etc)
With these video titles for months on end I never get a general rule of thumb answer! Just answer the question! There’s no way either of those guys got shoulders like that on TRT!
250 cypionate/week had me at 2400. 200/week had me at 1400. Ive been taking 175/week and trying to keep around 800. Pin once a week. Tested my levels 3 days after pinning. My estrogen was at 28 with the 1400 test levels while takin .5 Arimidex 4 days/week. My body produced a shitload of estrogen and bad acne breakouts on my chest and back
Dude you are probably 2000 with 50 free t levels but you want everybody else to stay below 1000-30 free? The first time I got mine checked at 25yo I was 1500-40 natural and I had mine checked and just started TRT, I had 472 total and 8 free and I’ve been feeling like shit for a few years now. I’m going to go up to the level I had when I was 25 , maybe even higher.
Does that level bother you mentally? I just tested and was at 2100 and I freaked out considering over the past 6 months of me being on TRT, with off cycle for 30 days, I started at 240, tested at 480, then 920. Got off for a month, dropped down to 260, got back on and 1 month later was at 2100 so I was like, wtf. This is doing 100 a week btw.
@@MakingItHappenMWC not mentally but I had bad side effects because it was too much to fast. I had bad jittery anxiety I was breaking out bad and insomnia couldn’t sleep. The fat is the medical industry is afraid to give men too much test if the fear that they will produce the out of control muscle men that go around raping women.
How on earth do you guys get that much Test prescribed? you must not be going through a physician- my doc refuses to get me in the 10000's.. I am on gel low dose and while I am starting to feel better- my "usual" when I was in my 20s' was 1100. I am now 400 and starting the Gel. But Doc will NOT go to high above 600 with me..
Its not through a doc… its bodybuilding, no doctor will ever prescribe 2000mg of testosterone per week… they would literally lose their license to practice medicine. & my doc is similar to yours, he wants me around 600ng/dL. That is the normal doctors approach. If you want more you need to find a new doctor, or specifically a trt clinic.
Robin Hood if I stop then I will have low test levels. The comment about test and ancestors, we recently went to ROM museum and noticed something very odd about the armour and equipment from the Dark ages. The men where very very tiny, the armour was so small and the handles to the weapons would be the size of a 10 yo child.
Largely diet related. Calorie restrictions and times of famine being anywhere even in a great great grandparents bloodline means smaller body sizes for increased survival chance.
I was very surprised using TRT. I thought it was going to be a game changer. In certain ways is was but shocked how little it has affected me. At first taking 100mg for 12 weeks did nothing 150, I was getting morning erections which was nice but it died off( stopped happening) now I'm at 200mg, split into 2 shots every 5 days, my test levels are 1200 on the 4th day and I'm struggling to get erections. Very sad. My mood on a day to basis in still the same, semi depressed. On the positive, I'm bulking and gained 20 pounds from 160 to 180. Best bulk I have ever had since I can still see my abs, looking to gain another 5 pounds then reaccess stopping. If anyone has advice, I would really like to hear it.
Check your prolactin and estradiol. If they are out of range - get them to norm. If that doesn't help - add HCG 500 -1500 IU a week. If it still doesn't work, add dhea and pregnenolone. Anyways, use some D3, group B vitamins, and omega-3 for overall health

you cant judge someones testosterone levels by their level of muscularity. first off not everyone can build shit tons of muscle even if they were on 500mg of test. ive known people who did a cycle and their levels were well into 4000 and they were doing everything right and they BARELY gained muscle. your genetics determine that. testosterone on its own is not a way to determine someones potential for how much muscle they will have. then you also have people who have levels at 800-1000 and they are skinny as hell. and maybe the only reason they arent big is because they either dont even work out or they simply dont eat enough calories. i like steve but he has demonstrated a very high level of ignorance several times in podcasts for someone who knows as much as he does.
Eh, if youre on 500mgs of test, training eating and recovering correctly - you will gain. Your buddy had bunk juice or was lieing to you about something - and levels in the 4k...
Yep. Our grandfathers didn’t exercise, they just did manual labor and often had much less access to calories and diverse nutrients. You don’t necessarily gain much muscle mass by having high testosterone levels. You gain muscle mass by consistent resistance placed upon the muscles and a surplus of quality calories and nutrients.
The reference range is arbitrary nonsense, just a number. How does the guy feel and what is his life like, how is he actually doing? Do many other factors get better above the reference range? Testosterone has been falling for decades This is what makes the reference range a joke. If other numbers look healthy, why not go higher and determine if you feel/look better?

Volume doesn’t matter what matters is how many milligrams you’re taking. And it’s better to do more frequent injections to have more stable blood levels. Twice a week is more beneficial.
SHBG is part of a typical hormone blood test. You don’t want to raise it or lower it intentionally. However, if it is very high (like mine at 96), then you will need a higher total T to get a higher free T. For instance, I need to boost my total T to 1,500 to attain a free T of 25-30. In short, it is best to think in terms of free T, not total T. You should almost never use an AI to reduce estrogen.
@@AncestralFuel im on trt now and using proviron OCASIONNALY , so i should stop taking proviron because the faCt that it reduce oestrogen decrease shbg ? is that it?
@@jaimenazaryan860 you would only take proviron if you weren’t on TRT. Proviron, which is not available in the US, is used to lower SHBG and create more free T. Many would argue that you never want to intentionally lower SHBG as it serves a purpose. Instead, simply increase your total T to the point that your free T is in a 25-30 range. Your body experiences bioidentical T as natural, whereas, proviron is not natural. Keep it simple - use only testosterone to increase your levels of free T - no need for estrogen blockers or SBGH lowering.
@@nasmiles4929 he is wrong because he only talks about total T without discussing the impact of SHBG on free T. Someone with a low SHBG can do well at 800 total whereas someone with high SHBG may need levels of 1,600 in order to get free T up to high normal - i.e., 25-30.
@@AncestralFuel TRT lowers SHBG. If you have a high SHBG on TRT then something is wrong. So talking about totals on TRT is a good marker because your free will generally be 2-3% of your total. And SHBG being low isn’t better. The ideal SHBG is about 20. If SHBG is too low then test is metabolised too quickly in the cell and metabolic/anabolic benefits aren’t fully leveraged
@@nasmiles4929 my SBGH was 96 when starting TRT four years ago. It is now 50. Thus I am aware that TRT drives down SBGH and, also, that this makes me a hyper-responder, which means I need inject only twice or even once a week will be effective. While SBGH will go down with TRT, it may not go as far down as 20. SBGH levels are a function of age, genetics and insulin levels - low insulin results in high SHBG. I am impacted by all three given I eat very low carb and have very low insulin. My point in my comment is that due to naturally high SHBG, I have to run a higher total - about 1,800 in order to have an optimal free T of 25-30. When he talks about staying within 1100, he is not taking into consideration that higher SBGH guys have to have higher levels of total T to have optimal levels of free T. 20 or 50 levels of SBGH do not matter as long as the high SBGH is not related to something such as liver disease. There is no known bad outcomes for people with high SHBG - quite the contrary in that low SHBG - in the single digits is related to earlier death. Nearly all diabetics have low SHBG.

Yep. Steve danced right around that fact.

100%.. but it’s not only that. What most do not know, 1/3 of biomarkers are like that.

5g is definitely not unheard of in bodybuilding, powerlifting or strongman. At his autopsy Dallas McCarver's TT was 57K. I saw some estimates that he would be taking up to 10g to get to this level. First, feeling "crappy" is unscientific, especially where there are predetermine symptoms to low testosterone. Feeling crappy can be caused by a million things.

My question is do you think that if I'm suffering from no side effects and I'm actually feeling much better, that this dose is sustainable long term? I know you can't give Medical advice, but my question is more so, even though I'm feeling great where I am, does the dose seem too high to be safe long term?
if bloodwork all looks good then it is. doesn't sound unreasonable.
Love you guys

@@michaelvovchuk2152 thank you alot for replying. I will definitely look into it and get the blood work done
@@luked6995 you're welcome, man💪💪. Sure something out of the list will definitely help
@@michaelvovchuk2152 If a doctor gives you TRT, it's up to him to add HCG and other stuff.
I never found one that would.
I've tried to offer my experience to this channel before, but no interest it appears.
Anyway, after 4 months on Doctor administered TRT, my libido disappeared, that was 12 years ago, never came back. Not a happy wife.
The guest is very knowledgeable, got to check if he has a channel.
you cant judge someones testosterone levels by their level of muscularity. first off not everyone can build shit tons of muscle even if they were on 500mg of test. ive known people who did a cycle and their levels were well into 4000 and they were doing everything right and they BARELY gained muscle. your genetics determine that. testosterone on its own is not a way to determine someones potential for how much muscle they will have. then you also have people who have levels at 800-1000 and they are skinny as hell. and maybe the only reason they arent big is because they either dont even work out or they simply dont eat enough calories.
i like steve but he has demonstrated a very high level of ignorance several times in podcasts for someone who knows as much as he does.
You are absolutely correct. The test can be shunted to different areas of the body that aren't always directed towards musculature.
Eh, if youre on 500mgs of test, training eating and recovering correctly - you will gain. Your buddy had bunk juice or was lieing to you about something - and levels in the 4k...

@@ATFstein I have more than enough experience to just agree with you at this point - best of luck with gains hoss
Exactly....i am a hyper responder and using 80mg a week puts my total t at 1100, but i aromatize heavily and need to pin eod or daily. My friend takes the same and puts him at 700 but it works amazing for him and due to his blood being thin already it makes his blood perfect without worrying about rbc hematocrit and hemoglobin
Exactly 💯
@jeffmaraman8149 I take 180 a week and I'm in-between 1000 to 1400 and feel great. I have also done up to 600mg when doing steroids (which I quit) and I never needed an ai

I don't think he has a medical degree.
I take 1ml of testosterone every 10 days is that healthy
Volume doesn’t matter what matters is how many milligrams you’re taking. And it’s better to do more frequent injections to have more stable blood levels. Twice a week is more beneficial.

If you're at 1700 wouldn't you be on a Es blocker
Not if you have a high SHBG levels
@@AncestralFuel how do u know u have high shbg ? IS THERE something we can take to rise it?
The guest is completely wrong
How
@@nasmiles4929 Exactly. A meaningless statement otherwise.
