- Today, I have the privilege of escorting these 3 friends, all Chinese language teachers, out for a great day at 2 different parks.
A huge fruit finding mission in between, rewarding them for observing 'Covid distancing' to the highest level... but also just a great chance to get outside, which is a good thing any day, ever!
In the second half of the video, I get to enjoy some long moments of peace and quiet, while cutting up fruit, and then exploring a small forest monastery.
Location:
First part in downtown Khon Kaen (and the park is next to the 'BeungTungSang' Lake, open 24 hours).
Second part is in the Nam Phong National Park Area (the reservoir name is 'Kheuan Ubonrat'), which is closed during night time hours.

Hey hey!! Thank you so much for watching, have you visited Thailand before?
@@JoelsTastyRide Hey! you are welcome. I never being there, i got to know about Thailand from you tube. but I hope to travel to enjoy the beautiful land with amazing foods.
Joel radiates positivity. I'm so glad I subscribed. Love the videos of you riding your bike and showing us the beautiful landscapes of Northern Thailand. Hopefully one day I can try durian.
"Trusting God, trusting the feelings that you have in yourself, LIVING in each day, appreciate the beauty in each moment" - Joel. Well said Joel, well said. Truly inspiring.
Thank you for picking up on this quote, I guess I can learn from my own words, why not :-)? Have a wonderful day today, thanks again for always commenting always giving me such positive feelings in these comments
You are one of my favorite UA-cam Videos to watch. 100%
I live in LA County and discovered mangosteen at an Asian Night market they usually have it imported here in the summers. It’s my favorite fruit and so so good. It’s so expensive here, usually $5-$8/lb. I usually treat myself and some friends to some every summer. I hope to travel to Thailand one day and explore this beautiful country and try all of the amazing fruit and vegetables!
Great video bro , positive vibes as always 🙏🏼🤗thank you for sharing those moments with us. Bless up.
Agree W your philosophy! One who conquers himself, is greater than the one who conquers a thousand
I learn a lot from your videos your a good teacher dude. Love learning about Thailand and Thai culture. Thailand seems like a amazing, humble, peaceful, beautiful place. Thanks for all the knowledge and nature.
You ought to go visit. Travel or teach English. Hopefully things will open back up soon.
Great Video. Your videos are so refreshing!

Hi Joel great video. Be safe and enjoy all those fruit. I love mangosteen. Never seen or heard of the eggfruit before. Durian looks good, I have to try it. God bless. I am glad you want to teach as your videos are so informative.
Thank you Joel for sharing such a beautiful part of the world, wonderful people and fantastic food. Keep doing it, we are enjoying every bit of it in times when travel is restricted and for us at the moment in Melbourne Australia when we have to stay at home.
Greetings to you in Melbourne, I love your name! Señor chili ha ha Ha :-) you are most welcome, I am blessed (by all of you!) taking the time to write me about your reactions as well.
@@JoelsTastyRide hi Joel, mi name is Roberto and my wife's name is Mabelle, we make and sell chilli sauces, our business name is Señor Chilli. We sell the chillis at markets and festivals and online. We love to travel. What's your email so i can tell you a bit more about us. We love your videos. And like I said we love Thailand. Much love from Melbourne, Mabelle and Roberto
What parts of the US have you been in? I’m from the Appalachian mountains. I grew up near the highest point called back bone mountain. Up above the clouds with snows that no one could ever believe. I could because my dad plowed that snow on that mountain for 40 years. He would take us out on bad nights to help or just keep him awake cause he would work more than 24 hours in a row. Just as you see majesty in the Forest I saw it in that crisp new snow. Even if the power was out for more than a week at a time, we always had warmth, food, and love.we never needed for all those fancy things in life. Watching you so enjoy even a beautiful sunrise or set, brings me back to those wonderful simple times. I think I connect with you because you remind me so much of the wonderful awww of life we found as youngsters. Of all the great lessons learned and taught to respect our elders no matter what. I went into nursing 28 years ago after being a volunteer EMT for 12 years in a very small tight knit community that included Amish people. You had to know how to respect people. I so hate that kids these days have no respect. I blame the parents. I just cringe when anyone says I want my children to have better than I did. What was so wrong with what we had. I had chores, respect my elders, and got my ass whooped if I didn’t. And that wasn’t even by my parents cause I used to stay on my cousins farm in the summers. Sorry to blabber on you just gave me some wonderful memories and some thoughts of how kids these days need sent off to be taught those lessons. Thank you for sharing a small piece of your world. Stay pure and may God always bless you for the wonderful joy you bring to others!
This was a fascinating journey. I have been studying why it feels so good to reconnect or stay connected to the Earth when you walk in bare feet.
It is called grounding and is a very pleasant form of meditation.
This is one of my favorite videos you have published and created Joel, and i appriciate you taking a couple minutes to explain to us, your fans, a heartfelt conversation, I cant wait to see more content from you as it is only going to get better and better. thank you and god bless :)
As again Joel 😎😀👍👍👍 perfect timing 🥰
That cat holding on to the chair leg with his paw. ❤️❤️ Enjoying the vlog again.

Yes..Joel..your inspiration comes from the right place..Trust God..hear His voice..stay blessed...live life by each moment...I always appreciate the simplicity and genuineness in you...surely you will go a long way....and by the way we miss out mangosteen n durian here in India...stay safe...Hugs
What an awesome post. I really MISS eating durians and mangosteens living in Canada. Both are super expensive if you can FIND them. This post brings back so many happy delicious memories growing up in Penang, Malaysia. Sadly NONE of my current circle of friends eat durians and are turned off by the smell. I usually end up eating it by myself in a park, which attracts racoons who are my dining buddies. I would LOVE to treat you guys when I visit Thailand again after this pandemic. Thanks for this post, I will join you guys in spirit... Cheers
Stephen!! So awesome so awesome, Penang, One place I still need to visit. I’m sure the fruit is just delicious and out of control there… All over Malaysia just amazing fruit but yes, I’ve heard that your hometown is special :) Very happy this morning to see you enjoying this upload, thank you so much for the support, really appreciate it thank you :-) hope all is well today, you have a cool profile photo by the way, with some Royal Canadian mounted police?
@@JoelsTastyRide Yes, they are good friends of mine, we train at the same gym
I have comment a lot but I have to tell you that you are so inspirational!
Joel, seeing you communing with nature and sitting on the grass eating fruit, I thought you’d make a happy monk! And then wham! In the next frame, you took us to that sacred place, the monk’s home!!😊 How awesome was that?! Such a peaceful and tranquil sanctuary, a perfect place to commune with God!❤️🙏🏼
Spiritual maturity... 🙏🏼
Like a fruit..Ripe,
but not yet gone bad.
1:22 "Beautiful! Is that about Durian? No, it's about birds"😊... there is beauty all around! Loving your videos, Joel
Great blog. Very inspiring and it looks like you guys had a great time.
Nice. I found your channel through watching Mark's.
I love deep conversations in nature. Thank you for showing us this side of you 💗
“Is that about Durian?! “ 😅😂🤣😂😅; love your humor 😀😀
Yay! Another great video from my favourite foodie! Chef Li's friends are adorable bursting into a beautiful song with their angelic voices... and you cracked me up with your comment about the song being about Durian fruit! 😂 The amazing fruit is one of the main reasons why I want to visit Thailand and I cannot thank you enough for making these videos! They are really uplifting and they make me look forward to the day I travel to Thailand! What really stands out about you is your spirituality and your strong desire to give to others through your gift of teaching. "Trusting God" is something that I am learning and trying to practise everyday. Thank you Joel, Li and friends...for sharing a little bit of your happiness with us ☺️☺️☺️
Busybee!!! Great to see you here, I always look forward to seeing your name and all of these comments you share with me. Happy to feel like I can be a good example, so blessed to see you enjoying this to the fullest. I will pass on your good words to Lee :-) have a wonderful day today :-) and, I am waiting for the chance to be able to introduce you to Durian, THE durian, Ha ha the happiness fruit
Hey Joel I learnt not long ago that you're from Michigan. That blows my mind! I made a comment couple weeks ago how I'm from the Mae hong son province but now live in New Zealand. My mom is from Minnesota but her family live in Michigan which I also lived for awhile. I come from a missionary family. Keep the good work up dude 👍
You are an amazing motivational speaker listening you just give to much positivity.stay blessed and stay same always.lots of love and prayers
"Trusting God, trusting the feelings that you have in yourself, living in each day, appreciating the beauty in each moment; those are successes on their own." Wow, Joel. Powerful, profound, and beautiful words that I needed to hear. Thank you for your thoughtful reflection and for bringing us along with you on your journeys, especially at such a challenging time in history. :)
Thank you for sharing these beautiful locations.
I would love to join you on one of your fruit eating adventures yum yum yum to all those fruits
Thanks for another inspirational video Joel! You surely became one of my favorite UA-camrs these past months 😁.
Near the end of the video, around 20:30, is that a Lanna-style roof?

Hi Joel! That's good news about the virus restrictions 😷. Be safe out there! Aloha🌈
@Tiare J. M - what are the restrictions for going to Hawaii from the Mainland? I've been to the islands over 20 times and I'm ready to go back! Mahalo 🌈
Hi Joel - thanks for another great video. I haven't been on in a while coz my wife had a serious medical issue & has been in the hospital since last Wednesday. If you can say a prayer for Renee in the USA it would be appreciated. Thanks Brother !
I am enjoying these first videos you made
You are a great teacher!!! Love the scenery, history learning about Joel
Love ya 💕 💕💕🥰
Watching this, as always is a wonderful escape from the daily grind. Be sure to enjoy every second of your freedom to find yourself and explore the world (before kids come along 😂🤪)
Emma I am cracking up :-) kids are not in my plan but yes… I appreciate your advice and I appreciate your words :-) I also appreciate your positivity, you always give me good vibes, great words :-) have a wonderful day today
Someone else's real life has its draw of the unknown and revealed. A special bond. On another note, I only have 4 sons and one of them has the exact same pattern shorts as you in the last part. Funny, not the usual pattern.
Thank You Joel ♡
Your technique to open mangosteen is pretty good haha.
Keep safe and take care always w/ Peter , Joel .
Hi Joel, I know one thing that Their sound is as sweet as the taste of durian. All of Thai fruit is pretty awesome 🌟
I love the diversity of your video absolutely brilliant I've never seen so massive durian. I've never had mango seeds I'm sure they must taste beautiful I will be looking out for them love the video
You an inspiration joel... your words just touched my soul. 🌿🌲🌱🌳🍃🍂
Looks yummy!
I often have been judged by not being successful cuz I'm a stay at home mom and taking care of my family. But I feel a sort of success cuz I take all my time to take care of my family . People often judge success by how much money you make, that can be hurtful at times.
Hi fren always take care keep safe always godbless
Thank you Jo-Anne!! God bless :):)
Thanks so much for the fruit videos....i have never see nor heard about some of the many fruits u are intruducing us to....keep up the good work an looking for ur next videos.....u take care an stay safe..❤❤🙏🙏
Dude, this is my kind of adventure can't wait to be back
Try the durian festival in Chantaburi.
Brilliant thoughts Joel
Brad, you rock man thanks for the support, hope you’re having a great day today!
Nice. How nice I was in Bangkok. Will join you especially for durian.. 😋😋😋. I love durian !!! But must not be harvest durian but those naturally dropped only...
So nice of you to just.... WATCH THEM ALL
Love it! Thanks Joel 😊
I enjoy watching in my home we don't have durians wish one day I cud taste 😋😍
salivating while you were eating mangosteen!!! great yin and yang combination of Durian and mangosteen!!!
Second part is also amazing
Joe you might get bored at me , talking about exotics fruits, most of them are from North America 50th years later
I still learnings. I'm not a young spring chicken you know. By the way I am in joy watching you.
I love durian cakes! I always ask friends and family traveling to Thailand to bring back durian cakes. They are available in the United States but they are expensive.
Like mooncakes?
@@majorkade No, durian cakes are basically, durian preserves. Some mooncakes may have durian preserves in them. The cakes are usually sold in tube form. You can Google the image.
1:23 IS that about Durian!? lmao legend
hmm...the durian looked so tasty
Hi Celina, this one is a LubLae species! Different than the “golden pillow” we usually eat here
The animals seem to forget abt keeping social distance after meeting Joel n his friends.
That fruit mangosteen is antioxidant fruit , and mangoes is one of my favorite fruits.
Mangosteen is my favourite, and the downside. My wife loves the durian. Just can't handle the smell.
I still laugh at that little cute “pig” dog
Had canned ma gostien in the states, cant get fresh but loved it.bought it at our asian market. Wish we could get more fresh fruits from there here.
Canned Mangosteen!? I am trying to think how it would taste, I’m guessing sweet, but I don’t know how it could get any more sweet than it already is naturally… That’s cool that you have tried it :-) I’m happy to hear this
Having The King (Durian) and Queen (Mankosteen) of all fruits at the same time? What's the meaning of this madness? Happiness overloaded.
Love this comment, I wish I could pin this :-) so awesome ha ha
Hi Joel:
Could you please do a review of one of your bikes, the gear and what you usually carry on your long rides. It is very impressive the mileage you put on!
Thanks and all the best.
Ananth!!! What a wonderful recommendation, yes, I promise that I will do one of these videos within the month of July. That’s awesome thank you for the support :-)
Joel Bruner wow thanks!! Looking forward to it🙂
The title itself deserves a thumbs up. This farang loves durian!
durian looks really creamy
Indeed...
Can't wait til they create smellivision, and tasteyvision.
Thanks for the words of wisdom brother
Awesome videos Joel! Can you teach Thai language? I’m very interested, my husband is from Udon Thani and we speak English at home but I’ll would love to learn. I tried to learn with him but no patience at all lol 😂 thanks Joel 🙏🏼
Yes I can Catalina, I love teaching Thai actually. I dont know if I could do it full-time, but I hope to be able to teach at least part-time for... for my whole life? I dont know, but really, I love sharing what Ive learned! Its very meaningful for me.
