    I do this when i know i'm not going to be consistent for a couple of days.
    check out my other videos on different variation of exercises you can perform for each of these muscles i called out.

      @@LegallySwole Thanks for your reply! Absolutely, I can't wait to get started with it. Got the front stack of the machine perfect, but the back stack (squats) isn't working yet - with more than two plates engaged it's like you're trying to lift the whole machine, so something is too tight somewhere. Need to backtrack my assembly of the back half.

    • @LegallySwole
      @LegallySwole  5 місяців тому +1

      @@astewart9410 sweet deal, hopefully you got those cables set up right. i know there are times if squats are my first movement and my legs are fresh/strong the whole stack lifts the front a bit if you're not pulling exactly vertical. i usually do leg curl and leg extension for sets to pre-exhaust the muscle then do squats

    • @astewart9410
      @astewart9410 5 місяців тому

      @@LegallySwole That's a great tip, thanks! This problem, however, is that with the small plate and the first larger plate only, it works fine. Anywhere on the pin after that, it doesn't move at all and I lift the whole thing, like it's too tight to move or something. I'm going to take it apart and try again.
      My other issue with the squat on this Weider is I am 6'2" tall and I can hardly get underneath the bars lol. I may have to not use that part if I can't figure it out. The front half and the VKR is still great.

    At the end of your video, you mentioned it not being low enough since you have better mobility. Would standing on a higher surface like a step work?

    • @LegallySwole
      @LegallySwole  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes absolutely, just make sure it’s sturdy. I have 45lb plates I used to place at the bottom. Also depending how heavy you go the front might lift up if you have the same model as I do😬😬; in that case I do one leg at a time

    Appreciate the video on how to do a full body workout. I am currently doing 4 full body workouts per week. I am doing 2 sets of 15-20 reps. Do you think it’s too much or not enough ?

    • @LegallySwole
      @LegallySwole  Рік тому +1

      Great question. It depends on your intensity (how hard are you pushing each set) and variability (how often do you incorporate different exercise for a particular muscle). If you are in the mid-late beginner stages, 2 sets of each is enough for 4x a week.
      What you’re doing allows you to keep the weights light and work on your form. As you get better you’ll notice certain muscles wouldn’t heal as fast meaning you’re finally targeting them properly (hopefully and not your tendons or bones) and they will need time to heal (only exception are calves and Abs which u use these every day to some extent so they are stubborn muscles).
      An upgrade from what you’re doing is to do [Upper body | lower body | rest or cardio] split allowing a complete 72 hour rest for the muscles to heal.
      Many literature will say 10 sets total per week for each muscle if you want to use that to gauge where you stand. Just make sure the exercises are actually targeting the same muscle. Ex: Tricep extensions and overhead tricep extension target slightly different heads of the triceps

    • @dr.kurtjohnson1791
      @dr.kurtjohnson1791 Рік тому

      @@LegallySwole I am going mid to lighter but trying to pump out lots of reps with good form. I find I can do 4 full body workouts each week and it doesn’t feel like too much or too hard to get in. I switch each workout up with different workouts that target each muscle group. So I only do 2 sets for each workout. Like one for chest, one for legs, shoulders, ect.. I can get in and out of my home gym within 35-45min

    • @LegallySwole
      @LegallySwole  Рік тому +1

      Hay, I’ve been analy this question for a few days now and honestly your rep range is fine. Putting myself in your shoes; If you’re doing 20 reps and that 20th rep is the literal last rep you can do and can’t hit that 21 physically you’re good.
      Ultimately your muscle doesn’t care as long as it’s stimulated and can grow. And doing 2 sets of that is just enough to feel the burn but no over work to require 72 hrs to heal.

    • @LegallySwole
      @LegallySwole  Рік тому

      For that you should focus mainly on full body with an emphasis on the lower body movements. Every time you lift go do a conditioning movement ( jogging,bike,rowing,swimming etc…)
      Keep track of the weekly weight and set a timeline (3 month)
      When you’re weight lifting focus on supersets or dropsets and mix in free weights of course if you’re using the Marcy equipment

      same here, i prefer using the kettlebell I have for the single leg squats & deadlifts so I can get better range of motion on the muscles (Feels fantastic). have you tried using the low cable for glute kickback? if not. add that to the end of your leg day its feels great

    • @LegallySwole

      Full body can be done 3x a week resting every other day. This example doesn’t target all the muscle but ideally as a beginner you want to target every muscle at least once a week. I have other workouts you may want to look at.
