    "The name of the game"
these is an extraordinary song by ABBA,
    which has many peculiarities:
    1) I think it's the first ABBA song in which each of the girls sings a verse as lead voice
    2) the official video was recorded at the blonde Agnetha & blonde Björn's home,
because Agnetha was very late in her second pregnancy
(that's why maybe she's sitting and cared for in the picture)
    3) "The name of the game" was released in October 1977,
two month before "ABBA The Album"
and the movie "ABBA The Movie"
It was a bold gamble from ABBA,
it opened their horizons and spread beyond pop.
I think that "The name of the game" (1977)
have some vibs of influences of BEATLES songs
like "Penny Lane" or "Fool on the hill" (1967)
curiosly, "The name of the game" was #1 in UK (4 weeks)
and replaced in the #1 for "Mull of Kintyre" by Paul McCartney (ex-BEATLES member)
    "The name of the game"
is in my opinion a masterpiece
one of the Seven Wonders of ABBA (in chronological order):
    Waterloo
    S.O.S
    Dancing Queen
    The name of the game
    Chiquitita
    The winner takes it all
    Don't shut me down
You have fantastic songs in "The Album" (1977) to react, ABBA's most versatile album:
    "Eagle" almost 6 minutes amazing
Take a chance on me (the banger hit)
"One man one woman" (beauty ballad)
    "Move on" (fantástic chorus)
"Hole in your soul" (powerful rock)
included a mini musical from 1977 Tour:
"Thank you for the music" (ABBA hymn)
    "I wonder" (dramatic ballad)
    "I'm a marionette" (progresive rock)
I hope to see you soon in more ABBA videos
    A big hug from
    Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷
    South America
PS: at the time of the official video (1977)
    the blonde singer Agnetha (pregnant)
and the guitarist Björn was married since 1971,
with one more child born in 1973
(the only official video with Her pregnant)
    the brunette singer Frida
    and the bearded keyboardist Benny
was engaged and living together since 1969
    and married next year 1978

Great reaction. ABBA is the iconic 70's pop group from Sweden made up of 2 couples Agnetha (Blonde) and Bjorn, and Anifrid (Frida - red head) and Benny; my favorite group, and imo - the greatest band ever. I highly recommend The Winner Takes it All & SOS (Agnetha lead) and Fernando & When All is Said and Done (Frida lead), and of course - their iconic hit - Dancing Queen. These 2 girls have the voices of Swedish Angels. ABBA never disappoints.

they were from Sweden and where real big over seas and then hit it big in the US. They have sold over 400 million records, only Elvis and The Beatles had sold more but MJ might have passed them not sure

A very game reaction 🎲🎲! I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to ABBA before: Dancing Queen, Does Your Mother Know and Happy New Year. The Name Of The Game was released as the lead single from ABBA's 1977 album: The Album. It was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson. It was produced by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The song reached #9 on the Adult Contemporary chart and #12 on the Hot 100. The music video was directed by Lasse Hallström. In the music video the group members of the group are shown playing the board game "Fia-spel", the Scandinavian version of the American board game Parcheesi. Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad both sing lead. The song was first called "A Bit Of Myself".
A preliminary version of the song: "The Name Of The Game", was worked into the 1977 feature film: "ABBA: The Movie", for which it was written.
The song also marks the last time Stig Anderson helped with the lyrics of an ABBA single.
In 2017, Billboard ranked the song number six on their list of the 15 greatest ABBA songs. In 2021, Rolling Stone ranked the song number three on their list of the 25 greatest ABBA songs.
    Critical Reception 🗣:
Billboard called "The Name of the Game" one of ABBA's "most stately, dramatic works to date".
Cash Box said that "layers of acoustic guitars play a classic chord progression in the irresistable chorus".
Record World said that "the emotion expressed is again secondary to the compelling nature of the music, as usual simple but dramatic".
    Lyrics 🗒:
I've seen you twice, in a short time
Only a week since we started
It seems to me, for every time
    I'm getting more open-hearted
    I was an impossible case
    No-one ever could reach me
But I think I can see in your face
There's a lot you can teach me
    So I wanna know
What's the name of the game?
Does it mean anything to you?
What's the name of the game?
Can you feel it the way I do?
Tell me please, 'cause I have to know
I'm a bashful child, beginning to grow
    And you make me talk
    And you make me feel
    And you make me show
    What I'm trying to conceal
If I trust in you, would you let me down?
Would you laugh at me, if I said I care for you?
Could you feel the same way too?
    I wanna know
    The name of the game
I have no friends, no-one to see
    And I am never invited
Now I am here, talking to you
    No wonder I get excited
Your smile, and the sound of your voice
And the way you see through me
Got a feeling, you give me no choice
But it means a lot to me
    So I wanna know
What's the name of the game? (Your smile and the sound of your voice)
Does it mean anything to you? (Got a feeling you give me no choice)
    (But it means a lot)
What's the name of the game? (Your smile and the sound of your voice)
Can you feel it the way I do?
Tell me please, 'cause I have to know
I'm a bashful child, beginning to grow
    And you make me talk
    And you make me feel
    And you make me show
    What I'm trying to conceal
If I trust in you, would you let me down?
Would you laugh at me, if I said I care for you?
Could you feel the same way too?
    I wanna know
    Oh, yes, I wanna know
The name of the game (I was an impossible case)
Does it mean anything to you? (But I think I can see in your face)
    (That it means a lot)
What's the name of the game? (Your smile and the sound of your voice)
Can you feel it the way I do? (Got a feeling you give me no choice)
    (But it means a lot)
What's the name of the game? (I was an impossible case)
Does it mean anything to you? (But I think I can see in your face)
    (That it means a lot)
    ABBA Info 📰:
ABBA are a Swedish Pop supergroup formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The group's name is an acronym of the first letters of their first names arranged as a palindrome: Agnetha, Björn, Benny, Anni-Frid. The group members of ABBA were married as follows: Agnetha Fältskog and Björn Ulvaeus from 1971 to 1979, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad from 1978 to 1981. They are one of the most popular and successful musical groups of all time, and are one of the best-selling music acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide from 1974 to 1982, and in 2022. In 1977 ABBA: The Movie, was produced. It is a mockumentary comedy-drama film about ABBA's Australian tour. An international co-production from Sweden and Australia, the film was directed by Lasse Hallström, who helmed most of the band's videos.
The discography of Swedish Pop music group ABBA consists of nine studio albums, two live albums, seven compilation albums, four box sets, five video albums, 50 singles, and 43 music videos. To date, ABBA has sold 150 million records worldwide becoming one of the best-selling music artists in history. They have scored 9 No. 1 singles and 10 No. 1 albums in the UK, becoming the most successful Swedish act of all time on the Official Charts. ABBA are among the best-selling music artists in history, with record sales estimated to be between 150 million to 385 million sold worldwide and the group were ranked 3rd best-selling singles artists in the United Kingdom with a total of 11.3 million singles sold by November 3, 2012.
In 1974, ABBA were Sweden's first winner of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song: "Waterloo", which in 2005 was chosen as the best song in the competition's history as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the contest. The band members were married. With the increase of their popularity, their personal lives suffered, which eventually resulted in the collapse of both marriages. The relationship changes were reflected in the group's music, with later compositions featuring darker and more introspective lyrics. After ABBA disbanded in December 1982, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus continued their success writing music for multiple audiences including stage, musicals and movies, while Agnetha Fältskog and Björn Lyngstad pursued solo careers releasing several albums.
Ten years after the group broke up, a compilation album: ABBA Gold, was released becoming a worldwide best-seller. In 1999, ABBA's music was adapted into the stage play: Mamma Mia!, that toured worldwide and, as of April 2022, is still in the top-ten longest running productions on both Broadway (closed in 2015) and the West End (still running). A film of the same name: Mamma Mia!, released in 2008, became the highest-grossing film in the United Kingdom that year. A film sequel: Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, was released in 2018.
On March 15, 2010, ABBA were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Bee Gees members Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb. The ceremony was held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. The group were represented by Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Andersson.
In 2016, the group reunited and started working on a digital avatar concert tour. Newly recorded songs were announced in 2018. The group's album: Voyage, their first new album in 40 years, was released on 5 November 2021 to positive critical reviews and strong sales in numerous countries. ABBA Voyage, a concert residency featuring ABBA as virtual avatars, opened in May 2022 in London.
ABBA still performs their music live on stage in 2024.
    Legacy 🛡:
In May 2023 ABBA were awarded the BRIT Billion Award which celebrates those who have surpassed the milestone of one billion UK streams in their career.

They are the best-selling Swedish band of all time and the best-selling band originating in continental Europe.
ABBA had eight consecutive number-one albums in the UK.
The group also enjoyed significant success in Latin America and recorded a collection of their hit songs in Spanish.

Fun Fact 🕵‍♀: The Fugees sampled the bass and synthesizer from ABBA's song: "the Name Of The Game", for their 1997 hit song: "Rumble In The Jungle". It was the first time ABBA legally allowed one of their songs to be sampled by another musical act.
