Right? When you found that right placement and you took enough air, you have that out of body experience where you just ĺook at yourself sustaining the note as long as you want. So Pleasing!
I sing showtunes and rock/metal. Today I was singing 18 and Life and did this super long run at the end that peaked at a G5, I was so in the zone I didn't even think about how high it was and BOOM! Meanwhile I choke up on the A#4 in Made Of Stone because I'm like "Oh no! Important note! Better not mess it up!". Then I sing Through The Fire and Flames or some MCR song that goes as high or higher...not sure why Made Of Stone stresses me out so much...
As Baritone I though it was imposible for me to kick high notes after learning how to belt... I feel like a white Elphoba whom can sustain high notes for hrs
I actually got the privilege to meet Christy Altomare and John Bolton of Anastasia a week before closing. I asked Bolton about how they received so many awards in everything except for the Tony’s, his response, “The Tony committee didn’t come see our show, they probably sent...1 or 2 representatives throughout the voting season. They didn’t see us because they assumed it was just another princess musical.” Honestly that’s just sad, because Anastasia outlasted almost every show from that Tony season. Gotta love it!
I was lucky enough to see the OBC of Anatasia. I have the signed--Ramin, Derek, Nicole, John, Caroline, Christy--playbill hanging on my wall. It's one of my most treasured possessions.
I’ve sung “Journey To The Past” for my college voice lessons, and Christy makes it seem so easy, but once you sing with the soundtrack, you’re like “Holy Shit, she just goes on forever!”
I think it’s because it’s easier to belt when your face is relaxed cause there isn’t any tension. So they’re probably all as stressed as we are watching it but just can’t show it 😂

That’s what always bugs me about the filmed version. It seems spliced on, but tbh it’s Jeremy Jordan- so I know he’s amazing with or without the editing. I just wish that the edit wasn’t so obvious haha.
i’m singing journey to the past in class and that last note is always so hard because you’ve just done so much belting and i feel like i’m going to pass out everytime i do it 😂
Oh my flippin’ goodness Michael Arden (5:46) just freaking hits different. 😱😱😱 I saw him live in Hunchback with the OG cast on the night Alan Menkin was there (so they like REALLY amped up their performance), and he got a STANDING OVATION every single time he opened his mouth. And every time he opened that mouth, I cried. 😂

@@nathannicotera9805oh, no thanks! The reprise was in the last version of the video but I replaced it for MOFN. I'll fix it, thanks
CHRISTY IS SUCH A LEGEND I AM SO PROUD TO BE AT HER HIGH SCHOOL ❤️❤️❤️
As a singer, I have to admit, sustaining a belt is one of the most releasing/satisfying feelings ever.. any other fellow vocalists agree??
Right? When you found that right placement and you took enough air, you have that out of body experience where you just ĺook at yourself sustaining the note as long as you want. So Pleasing!
Orlyland 90 exactly I just did this today

Who needs drugs when you can chase the high that is a sustained belt that no one will ever hear.

BlueLucario98 It’s not shocking, because Christy absolutely deserved to get a Tony nomination and I never knew why she never got one.

It is so hard to do without running out of breath but I've done it a few times 👌🏼
That song is so out of my range yet I chose to sing it every week at lessons because it is so. Freaking. Pretty.
I've done the same with anything u can do 😂😂
IKR!!!
SO GLAD HUNCHBACK WAS IN HERE. so underrated and such a difficult role
Ikr! And there’s a LOT of sustained notes in that musical.
Can we just admire how relaxed these actors and actresses look? They’re making it look so easy!!
I think it’s because it’s easier to belt when your face is relaxed cause there isn’t any tension. So they’re probably all as stressed as we are watching it but just can’t show it 😂
i love when they hold a note for so long that it starts to sound like another note
Adam Pascal literally NEVER has to go as hard as he always does
The second high note I’m gethsemane literally has “hold as long as you can” written in the music
But where’s Dylan Saunders in Get Back to Hogwarts?? Wel-COOOOOOOOOME
Right???
