I saw the Six national tour last summer. I tell you it was CRICKETS after All You Wanna Do. You could have heard a pin drop. The audience just didn't know how to respond to that heartbreaking song.

My visit to the show was the exact same back in December. I wanted to clap because it was beautifully done but everyone was just frozen in time.
It’s one of those songs you can listen to on the soundtrack a thousand times. But seeing it live is a completely different experience
same. I saw it before it went onto broadway in late 2019 and it was silent then too.
Come From Away is just so dang good. I love how they used the stage, cast, simple props/clothing items to make 12 people seem like 16 thousand. Just an absolutely phenomenal play and surprisingly upbeat and heartfelt given the source material.
It’s so accurate to the real aspects of Newfoundlanders and the Maritimes, easily a classic for me

The most heartbreaking moment I've ever seen in musical theater is in Legally Blond when Elle and Emmett are on opposite sides of the door and Elle is singing how she needs to go back to being just a blind, and her voice crack at "some girls were just meant to smile"

Completely agreed, I love that song. I’m planning on making a new musical theatre compilation and will definitely include that moment.
I don’t usually listen to the American versions of six bc it throws me off, but the ACTING going on in All You Wanna Do is phenomenal!!! She really put everything into that performance and it shows.
I have never seen all you wanna do in slime tutorial form before. I never knew just how much emotion it is performed with live. Absolutely incredible :)
I saw the Six slime tutorial a few days ago and LOVED it. I almost balled my eyes out at the ending of All you wanna do.
When i saw it on Broadway, there was literally stunned SILENCE at the end.
This is one of the main reasons why I hate official soundtracks. They ALWAYS remove so much of the emotion...

sam pauly’s variation of aywd might be one of my favourite theatre moments of all time, the emotion she conveys during the bridge and last chorus ALWAYS makes me tear up without fail. one of the greatest K Howard’s of all time.
I swear every song from Come From Away makes me tear up.

when I bought the soundtrack, I listened to it at least once a day for at least a year and I've seen the stage production twice. Yet no matter what I cry every single time in the same spots!
I feel so bad for Six. It was a truly amazing show but because of when it came out, it got almost no recognition. Hope it gets more love in the revival.

both SIX songs gave me chills all the way through. there is something so different from them recording in the booth, and putting it on spotify, then actually seeing the performance. the performance has so much more emotion and meaning to the song, and you get to see the actors/actresses tell a story through the music. it’s truly marvelous. that’s why i love SIX.
That particular performance of All You Wanna Do never fails to give me the strongest chills I’ve ever felt watching a performance. I can’t even imagine how striking it would have been to see it live. I also don’t know how i’d be able to go on with my career after that point, like pack up, go home, retire. i would never believe i could deliver a performance that good again. absolutely flawless.

Jane’s costume kinda reminds me of armour. Like especially the sleeves the design looks almost like chain mail? Dunno if that’s intentional but I feel like it’s kinda fitting that she’s like in armour cuz she was like protecting herself and her heart from Henry by remaining stoic? 🤷🏻♀️

The way the ensemble just THROWS those notes in the finale if Parade.
parade is so underrated im glad it's getting more recognition - esp at the moment with big names like ben platt in the broadway revival. the jeremy jordan parade is so good, though - i found it through seeing clips in these compilations, found the bootleg, and was blown away. i can understand why some ppl wouldn't love it as it is a very sad and rather depressing story with not a lot of humour, but the songs are amazing.

I grew up watching the Newsies movie (which the musical is based on - it's from the early 90s) and "King of New York" was always one of my favorite songs from it. The movie's choreography is pretty awesome, but of course leave it to Broadway to make it even better.
Jeremy Jordan is amazing. I had no idea he could sing till I heard him sing in the Flash/Supergirl musical episode, and then I found out he'd been doing Broadway all this time. He's really good in the New York demo of the Death Note musical too. Pity that never got past a concept album.
"All You Wanna Do" OMG. I always picture that song ending sadly like that (watching so many animatics probably influenced that 😅) but somehow the live version makes it even more gut-wrenching. That is a song that changes moods way faster than you'd expect.
I love the train set piece for Anastasia! That's super creative. Seriously though I want to see that show cause I love the 1997 animated Anastasia so much. It was the first movie soundtrack I ever bought. And now it's a Broadway musical...❤

Parade is my favorite musical I have ever seen live. The orchestra and the music was so beautiful combined with the amazing performances which made for such an incredible show that I want to see again.

I agree so much! I was lucky enough to see it with Ben Platt and Micaela Diamond and let me tell you, their performance was life-changing.
@@acadiaking9616 It really was. The whole cast was super talented and Michaela diamond took my breath away. Charlie Webb (who sang the prologue) was also great and I still think about the opening number every day!

Justice for Les Mis Symphonic! Seems like everyone always forget it exists, but it's the one I grew up with and my faaavvvv :) (also so grateful for all the legally blonde, i always get happy seeing Laura and Christian pop up)
It’s not my fav of the Les mis albums (I’ve listened to a lot of them but the 10th anniversary remains my favorite) although I love the line Marius sings about Eponine to thenardier and it’s such a crime other versions don’t include that line.

9:09 SAME DUDE I saw parade on broadway over the summer and I had heard it like a million times already but every single time the instrumentals drop out during the “god bless the sights of the old hills of Georgia” when it’s just the voices and their echoes and the drums at the end makes me feel a type of way that I can’t even put into words

6:38 my school did this show and i wasn't on the train but i was backstage singing with ensemble and we (backstage singers not the people on stage lol) were all doing the macarena during the trio part after "lovely getaway"

One moment that I always like is the ‘I Believe’ section of the Book of Mormon. Although I don’t like Kevin Price, I do enjoy seeing him accept that religion is more difficult to faithfully follow. And although he’s flawed/has problematic views, he can be a better person if he actually believes in what he preaches. He also realizes what he did to Cunningham was wrong, and goes back to be with him.

I love musical numbers when the singing is well done and the performer is showing emotion while singing (Jeremy, Christian, etc.)
Just belting isn’t enough. It might sound and look impressive, but if all the performers are concentrating on is belting the notes correctly and ignoring the FEELING that should be there (looking at you, Six) it’s hollow and weighs the show down.

No, I’ve seen more. I’ve seen 17 musical theatre performances in total, excluding movie musicals I’ve watched. A quick list of musical I’ve watched not included in this video: Les Miserables, phantom of the opera, miss Saigon, Hamilton, dear Evan Hansen, hadestown, Carrie, wicked, falsettos and Jesus Christ superstar.
There’s literally a Heathers proshot now and you still use the oldest bootleg that exists and say “Sorry for the bad quality”

Because the oldest bootleg is the original cast!! And they are sooo incredibly amazing that the pros hot just couldn’t live up to them unfortunately
