Finally decided to get serious and learn to sew. I have the Singer Tradition and googled "how to thread my singer tradition" and found you! I am so glad I did, as your videos are so clear and easy to follow! :) Thank you, Hailey!
Thank you so much 😭 your tutorial is the best out there. I watched many but yours is the most specific and made me realize why my top thread kept getting stuck in the bobbin thing.
This video helped immensely! The way you described hooking up the bobbin in the bottom and how to pull through the thread out the top was very detailed and helpful.
Ive had my machine for about a year and I was so frustrated with not being able to get it to work because of loading the bobbin I just put it away. Then I realized I could look on line to see how to do this. Thanks so much. You did a great job explaining in detail how to do this.
Thank you thank you thank you!! I can't say it enough. I'm not even sewing but my 80 year old mom is and she was struggling with the bobbin and because I'd you I was able to wind the bobbin correctly!!😆😆😄
My grandmother gave me her mint condition singer a couple years ago (was interested in making stuffed animals like she used to) and I finally figured out how to use it. Needed a video because the little pamphelet made a few steps confusing.
Hello Hailey, I thank you so much for showing those like myself how to set up the bobbin for sewing and I have to try doing what you showed us and hopefully solve the problem I am having with my new machine. I wish you a great and Blessed weekend and may God continue to Bless you and your family.
I didn’t see the little notch where my bobbin arm should go …until this video, hence couldn’t figure out why the bottom thread wasn’t catching. Thank you!
Thank you for this tutorial, but I have a bit of a roadblock. I followed both this and the normal threading tutorials to a T, and whenever I try to get the needle to catch the bobbin thread, it never works. Either nothing comes up from the bottom, or the thread in the needle gets tangled with itself (even though I'm holding it off to the side) and it causes the needle to get unthreaded once I untangle it. I'm probably doing something very obviously wrong, but yeah.
I managed to not only remove the part with the little door but the whole thing without knowing how to put the 2 pieces in place again. Any ideas how to repair the whole capsule? So that I can simply insert the bobbin again?
Yes, check out this video to see how to take everything apart and reassemble! I believe what you’re talking about is shown at the 3:50 mark: ua-cam.com/video/OlN8qW5Th8U/v-deo.html
Hello! Thank you for showing how to properly wind bobbin thread! I was wondering if you can show or address “improper” ways of it…. I am doing something wrong apparently, and the thread is winding sloppily on the bobbin, making it unusable. I am doing it just like you, so I can’t figure out what I am doing wrong, but, I have to cut off the thread from the bobbin, and am wasting so much. Also, how do you make the thread so tight from the feeder thread to the bobbin? Mine is always so loose, and I am wondering if that is the reason it won’t properly wind onto the bobbin.
Yes the key is to have tension on the thread! You can just use your fingers to create tension but your machine should have a tension disc that will keep the thread tight while winding.
I was zig zag to fix a hole in levi trouser at Kneehigh. And the singer locked in the middle . Can not move the needle at all by hand. And the trouser is over the arm. I will not use brute force to fix that because it may throw off the calibration off the machine. So I opened the arm door 2 cm and loose the two handles on bobine. Needle free and that was a narrow excape for a serious problem.
Could be! Typically when you wind a bobbin on any machine, the part that engages the needle "turns off." I would take it to a local sewing machine repair shop if you have one available to you just to get a professional to look at it with you!
Hello, the trouble i have with winding the cotton on the bobbin is it finishes half way which is annoying and i notice your bobbin has one hole, mine has a square like yours and the other end is round, hope you can help and thank you so much
I am using the bobbins that came with my machine. If you have a different machine, I would suggest using what came with yours or buying a bobbin that is specific to your machine. Machines can be picky when it comes to bobbins they like!
I don't know what I am doing wrong but the machine isn't pulling the bobbin thread up but instead just tangles the top thread around the bobbin case. I am losing my mind. 😭😭
That happened to me to until I inserted the bobbin the correct way as she showed in the video with the metal arm part of the bobbin insert thing going in upwards to fit into the nook as she calls it. Also keep some tension on the top thread as you turn the dial by holding it a bit tight.
Is there a screw on your bobbin case that you can tighten? I had this same issue when I first used my machine and tightening the bobbin screw fixed it!
@@HaileyStitches I figured it out lol, I had two bobbins that don’t even belong to my singer set and I have no clue where I got them from so I found the correct bobbins and it worked
I followed every step and my machine will not wind the thread. Does the bobin have to be strictly from singer? That’s the only thing I could think of why it’s not picking up the thread. Thank you
I did all the instructions but it is still getting stuck, the top needle doesn't hook to the bottom so I can't even grab the bottom thread. Help? I took a video of the thread getting tangled on the bobbin.
yes, you'll need to make sure that the tension is the same throughout the entire bobbin. If the thread is too loose, the threads might end up nesting and creating problems inside the machine. if the thread is too tight, it can become stretched and cause extreme tension issues.
I was having that problem. The used-machine guy I bought it from checked and the tension mechanism was broken. He fixed it for free. There is also a tension adjustment dial where you can increase or decrease it. try that, and if it doesn't work, see if a repair place can help you.
The bobbin should come out of the bobbin case easily. If not, the bobbin case may be too tight. You can loosen it by adjusting the screw on the side of the bobbin case.
I'm not really familiar with this model. I'm sorry! typically bobbin winders are on top of the machine or they have a built in bobbin winder in some cases.
The bobbin case has a small handle that flips open. Flip it open and pull it out. The bobbin itself should fall out of the case when it’s removed from the machine.
Thank you-- I had my machine put away for about a year and a half and forgot how to use it. This was super helpful and easy!!

Thank you! My grandmother is mortified from heaven above that I couldn’t do this . She was a seamstress for many years!
Thank you, thank you for this video. I've been loading my spool wrong for years and years and never understood why my machine gave me fits. Thank you.

Perfect video, no more and no less than exactly the right information. Thank you, this was driving me nuts.
Thank you so much for your video.
I love the way you explain the whole thing .
It was really helpful to me.
I also love the sound of your voice ❤

Thanks for a clear and concise tutorial
You're welcome!

Can you help me figure out how to put the whole thing in? Like the other two piece fell out trying to insert the bobbin. I hope I’m making sense 5:09

I dont know if youll reply but I was trying to test the tension, but I cant test the tension without the thing falling out.
The bobbin case tension is probably too loose then. Try tightening the bolt and testing again!
My bobbin case keeps moving, like when I am trying to get the second thread through ,how do you think I can solve this issue? Thanks for the help
Hi! Do you mean when you are threading the bobbin or pulling up the bobbin thread to the top of the needle plate?

Hi, I just wanted to know which camera you use to film.
I film using a Canon EOS M50
I am struggling. My bobbin will not wind evenly. I cannot figure out why. Anyone have any tips ?
Please my bobbin winder stops working what can I do
My bobbin keeps being loose, I put it correctly but the bobbin wasn’t spinning however the metal rod was

I can hear my machine working but the bobbin 🧵 doesn’t spin for me either. I’m not sure what to do

Does tension matter when threading for bobbin?
yes, you'll need to make sure that the tension is the same throughout the entire bobbin. If the thread is too loose, the threads might end up nesting and creating problems inside the machine. if the thread is too tight, it can become stretched and cause extreme tension issues.
@@HaileyStitches then what should the tension be?
What do I do with the loose ends from both threads? everytime I start sewing it works for 2 seconds and then unthreads my needle
I hold onto the ends of the threads when I first feed the fabric through. They need a bit of tension or else the needle will unthread!
I was having that problem. The used-machine guy I bought it from checked and the tension mechanism was broken. He fixed it for free. There is also a tension adjustment dial where you can increase or decrease it. try that, and if it doesn't work, see if a repair place can help you.
Ok so how do I get the bobbin out of the bobbin case. I can’t get it out
The bobbin should come out of the bobbin case easily. If not, the bobbin case may be too tight. You can loosen it by adjusting the screw on the side of the bobbin case.
Trying to wind a bobbin on featherweight 100 only no. on back just won't spin
I do not have any experience with this machine. I would suggest searching online for a sewing machine manual that can help you!
Thanks
no problem!
Thx
What is the bobbin size? Class 15 or Class 66?
Class 15
@HaileyStitches Thank you for the bobbin information. I inherited the Singer 2277 from my MIL estate. It is a sweet little machine.
Where is the bobbin winder on Singer 6251?
I'm not really familiar with this model. I'm sorry! typically bobbin winders are on top of the machine or they have a built in bobbin winder in some cases.
How do I remove an empty bobbin?
The bobbin case has a small handle that flips open. Flip it open and pull it out. The bobbin itself should fall out of the case when it’s removed from the machine.
