As a brazilian, i have mixed feelings about Nelson Piquet. He's got a fantastic racing carreer, a very interesting history about how he managed to reach F1 without approval of his family. if you make another one of these, 1975 spanish grandprix would be a good addition, as well as wasted talents such as karl wendlinger (beat schumacer), johnny herbert, stefan bellof, giles villeneuve, and martin brundle. also, speaking of karl wendlinger, his monaco crash in the first practice session following imola which measured at 360G (the world record despite most citing kenny brack with the record) also should be mentioned. karl wendlinger could have his own entry.
also, a few darker additions could be the amount of "covered up" f1 marshal and mechanic deaths. 2 deaths within a year in the 2000s, a marshal being crushed at the 2013 canadian grand prix, multiple pitlane injuries as recent as 2018, and in (2020?) a ferrari mechanic lost his leg after being hit in a car demonstration, where he was pinned against a wall by a ferrari doing burnouts
Btw, SPA 2021 most likely got nothing to do with 1998 They won’t green flag the race if the medical helicopter cannot takeoff SPA 21 was just that, the weather wasn’t good enough for the medical helicopter to fly.
Here's a humble suggestion: Pedro de la Rosa's Sakhir track record. It lasted much longer than any other else from that era and tbh I never really understand how/why. If I'm correct it took 18 years to take it down.
@@hasanmalik493 Indeed, it's not the best time set on that track (because pole laps were better) but it's still the fastest Grand Prix lap ever set there. Next year it'll be 20 years old!
4:26 It should be mentioned that Hill only won the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix as a result of team orders from Jordan. He was being caught massively by his team-mate (Ralf Schumacher), so he got on the radio and moaned about it, basically threatening that if Ralf was to fight him they might end up crashing out.
You mean he, quite correctly, pointed out that if Ralf were to catch and overtake him, they could both crash as he was not prepared to simply move out of the way and the other, more talented, Schumacher had already gone out of the race trying to overtake a car that wasn't even fighting him? You mean he told Eddie Jordan what was best for the team and Eddie agreed, is that what you mean?
@@PedanticGaming No, that's not what I meant. You're free to interpret it however you'd like, of course, but my interpretation is that Hill's radio message was a thinly veiled threat to pressure the team (basically "if Ralf tries to fight me I'm having us both off"). Before Hill's message, Hill and Schumacher's engineers told them about how quickly Schumacher was catching, and Schumacher's engineer (Sam Michael) said he could pass for the win, so at that stage the team didn't think the risk of a pass was excessive. It was only after Hill's radio message that the hold order was given.
Personally I see that as an... uncharitable interpretation, but you're free to feel like that. Of course they both wanted to win, and it's not like team orders haven't been applied before. I'm sure Damon thought he deserved the win after getting his Jordan into the lead in the first place, and I'm equally sure Ralf thought he deserved to win because he was quicker. Personally I like to think it was a stark truth 'if we fight there is every possibility we'll crash', rather than a deliberate threat to take him out, which from Damon's career doesn't really suit his character, but then again there would've been a certain irony of having his last ever win denied by a collision with a Schumacher.@@amp888
@@amp888 exactly! for Hill it was a 1-2 with Hill in 1st or nothing at all as he would crash both cars. Hill was gonna retire anyway so he wanted a last win before retiring. he knew that Ralf was here for a long time again.
The issue with spa was not whether we should race or not, it was (i hope) clear to everyone that the risk of going forward with racing was to high....the issue IMO was rather doing a parade lap just to hendout points

Was the 2010 Grand Prix World Championship mentioned in Vol.1? Reading about it was really wild, and to me it's one of the biggest what-ifs in F1. Here's the Wiki article for some info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Prix_World_Championship
Jerez 1997 quali is one thing I'm surprised doesn't get talked about more, I think people underestimate how unlikely of an event it was especially with all their sector times being so far from each other, yet I've never seen any plausible conspiracy theory you can easily fit into it. 2007 was pretty fishy and tbh I think this may have been one of the reasons why Lewis joined Mercedes in 2013, it looked like a pretty risky and unexpected move back then. Oh, and when Ron said it was "$95 million for Ron being a t...", he was likely telling the truth.
That whole section on Monaco cheating is like a thesis on why that track needs to be eliminated from the calendar. That, and the fact that the races there are boring as shit. Nobody likes Monaco.
The video is awesome, don't get me wrong, but men, when he starts to defend Hamilton, is like he puts a blidnfold and is pretty hard to listen. The idea is good, the execution is spectacular, but don't be a fan, be neutral
A scoring system where you only score points at your home race and teams home race (or nearest race) Example Lando Norris would score ×2 points at the british grand prix Oscar would score points at both Australian and the british Grand Prix Or 1 win per season score system as soon as you win the first race your disqualified for the rest of the season
I had no idea what I was clicking on when I saw this video and I listened to it for a lot longer than I thought would but somewhere between if this happened and that didn’t happen and who was on first base, what is on second base, and I don’t know is on third base it suddenly dawned on me that while this is fine and good but in the end after all the would-a, could-a, should-a’s nothing is going to change history but then again it can sometimes be fun to play the what if game
In 2016 hamilton gets more points due to luck than rosberg: In australia vettel lost win because of strategy, in bahrain vettel didnt start the race so lewis probably be behind him in the end, monaco won because of poor ricciardo pit stop, canada another bad strategy when vettel could won, in singapore if raikkonen stop earlier he hamilton would be behind kimi and japan probably outside podium because vettel was faster than verstappen who finished 2nd but was behind lewis due to strategy Lewis had problems with a car but he also had a lot of luck in this season
Not to mention that in Bahrain he should've been kicked out of qualifying for reversing in the pits, in Monaco he should've been penalised for going off at the chicane and failing to lose a position, in Silverstone and Germany he benefited from Rosberg's dubious penalties, and in Belgium he got saved by the red flag and actually only overtook about 3 cars on track.
@@ihathtelekinesis in belgium he had easier job because vettel verstappen and raikkonen dropped behind him in first laps due to collision and pit visits
Sorry, but at 22:50 you were wrong: it was never proven nor stated that 2019 Ferrari engine was illegal. Even the official f1 website states as much. It was a grey area, exactly like the das, or the double diffuser. The das was allowed that season, and then banned for the subsequent year, for the engine in 2019 new sensors were added *immediately*. Ferrari simply found a clever way to circumvent the rules, but never broke any of them. Of course the details could not be shared, because that would have meant share technical knowledge proprietary to the team (the blueprints of Ferrari engine, that then could have been copied by any other team..). And what happened later is often conveniently silenced, but apparently Hakkinen (I think?) shared it: Ferrari not only worked with FIA to find better regulations in fuel flow, but also served a secured penalty for 2020 and 2021, with a more restricted fuel flow than the other teams. “Allegedly”. So, just to point it out: - When Mercedes found a grey area, DAS, the regs were corrected for the subsequent season, and Mercedes could keep they das for the whole season, plus of course work on designing the car for the next season knowing the rules in advance. No loss for Merc, no penalty, no shame, grey area exploit allowed for a year. - When Ferrari found a grey area, fuel flow, the rules were instantly changed, new sensors added, Ferrari instantly lost its advantage, and the then was punished for 1-2 seasons.. Just saying. For reference that ferrari did nothing illegal: www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.fia-reaches-settlement-with-ferrari-following-2019-engine-investigation.6beur1atKeTLvJHPEuHUJW.html
Well yes. The official story was very quiet and “they didn’t cheat”. The whole thing about that topic is that people don’t believe it. They think it was a cover up and they technically were cheating.

All that I watch/read now is max fans starting to panic lando has had some bad luck, misfortune, made mistakes, basically wet behind his ears still And imo the Oscar/webber/orders has been a huge eye opener to him It’s MORE a tall order for max to finish no lower than 2nd place than lando to finish 1st with the remaining races giving the gap he was beaten by and the 2nd McLaren hadn’t started 5th after a mistake in Q3 plus held up behind the merc and Ferrari max wouldn’t have finished 2nd too! 3 5th places, 3 2nd places, 1 4th and 6th Lando has scored 126 with a DNF!!! which not his fault max has scored 104 I’ll take that bet with lando and max and also I reckon if it comes to wire and ‘another driver’ is in a position to help a another win then you watch pay back for 2015

Turns out MoneyGram will be Haas's first title sponsor to stay for more than one season They could've just given those drivers a point each in Silverstone 1954
Even if the concept of ground effect in 1928 made sense to the people at the time, I feel like it probably would still have failed since most Grand Prix-like races would be inappropriate for such a design. I highly doubt that Prevost's car would've felt the benefits at any track other than Indianapolis or Monza, as most races involved ungraded roads, or even worse, dirt. Makes sense why it was quickly forgotten until the 1970s.

I was so excited for a second. I thought this was new content - part #3!! Come to realize its a re-upload -.-
23:45 Hamilton issued a statement saying "I'm a total coward and though I claim to be a Christian, I don't have the backbone to stand up for Christian values and can be counted on to stay silent while demons run amok in a godless world."
1:59:50 - Massa claims Singapore GP should have no points for anyone, as the race should've been canceled because of the Crashgate. They took out his championship and that was an infamous spot on F1 history.
When I saw that 2 HOUR lenght of this video, i knew i will hear some thigs that i never knew before.
Good job on the vid man. it must've taken you a lot of time and sweat to do it .
I will use this as an excuse to watch it again
First time watching this just randomly got this on my reccomended. You’re about to get boosted
Will there be a vol 3 though 👀
One day yes!
It's here

if you make another one of these, 1975 spanish grandprix would be a good addition, as well as wasted talents such as karl wendlinger (beat schumacer), johnny herbert, stefan bellof, giles villeneuve, and martin brundle. also, speaking of karl wendlinger, his monaco crash in the first practice session following imola which measured at 360G (the world record despite most citing kenny brack with the record) also should be mentioned. karl wendlinger could have his own entry.
also, a few darker additions could be the amount of "covered up" f1 marshal and mechanic deaths.

This video is well rooted inside the youtube algorithm, i already saw it , and its the main recommendation after any f1 vid
how rossi testing for ferrari hasn’t been mentioned is crazy
Hopefully it can been mentioned in Part 4.
Btw, SPA 2021 most likely got nothing to do with 1998
They won’t green flag the race if the medical helicopter cannot takeoff
SPA 21 was just that, the weather wasn’t good enough for the medical helicopter to fly.
1:42:04 Perez and Stroll had to miss races in 2020 because of covid too
Stroll did not have covid. He was suffering from stomach ache
10/10 lotr joke! 😆 gets me every time!
honestly im quite surprised that Haas didnt have to pay the money back to Uralkali
Damn that aged pretty well 😂
Here's a humble suggestion: Pedro de la Rosa's Sakhir track record. It lasted much longer than any other else from that era and tbh I never really understand how/why. If I'm correct it took 18 years to take it down.
I think it still stands
@@PedanticGamingmental fatigue
The issue with spa was not whether we should race or not, it was (i hope) clear to everyone that the risk of going forward with racing was to high....the issue IMO was rather doing a parade lap just to hendout points
if only russell earned a pole position

1:56:16 didn't this happen to Damon Hill with Williams?
In which year do you mean? I asking you because I still can't understand.
@RadityaPramanaPutra2001 In the middle of the 1996 season, Williams decided to get rid of Damon Hill. Damon went on to win the driver's title that year just to be dropped by the team.
@@Guinnessdrnkr1234 Okay, I understand now. Yes, Damon was removed by Williams without the knowledge of Adrian Newey at the time.
@@RadityaPramanaPutra2001 btw, Williams did the same thing to Nigel Mansell in 1993 they decided get rid of him in the middle of a championship season. They wanted Prost for the 1994 season
@@Guinnessdrnkr1234 Did they do it without knowledge of Adrian Newey, too? He's already join Williams at the time.
Here's an idea for part 3 (its somewhat dull mind you and a tad vague), 100 lap races.

Alternative title: butthurt Hamilton fan tries to deny the fact that Nico Rosberg beat Lewis Hamilton in equal machinery
he did, but, even as someone who has no opinion on hamilton, hamilton clearly had more mechanical failures and issues costing him the title
Lucky Max isn't still alive, you'd find yourself in court for libel, and furthermore you would lose.
Not sure anything about that is “lucky”

1:40:38 in Kimi’s first Beyond the Grid podcast appearance he says he signed his Ferrari contract in 2005
Was the 2010 Grand Prix World Championship mentioned in Vol.1? Reading about it was really wild, and to me it's one of the biggest what-ifs in F1. Here's the Wiki article for some info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Prix_World_Championship
Not mentioned either sadly
Jerez 1997 quali is one thing I'm surprised doesn't get talked about more, I think people underestimate how unlikely of an event it was especially with all their sector times being so far from each other, yet I've never seen any plausible conspiracy theory you can easily fit into it.
2007 was pretty fishy and tbh I think this may have been one of the reasons why Lewis joined Mercedes in 2013, it looked like a pretty risky and unexpected move back then. Oh, and when Ron said it was "$95 million for Ron being a t...", he was likely telling the truth.
This is Insane what a legend 30 years Ive watched this sport never seen anything like what we saw this year

A subject for part 3: how good would Johnny Herbert have been in F1 if he'd not had the horrible crash at Brands Hatch in 1988?
Hill / Coulthard level at best
That whole section on Monaco cheating is like a thesis on why that track needs to be eliminated from the calendar. That, and the fact that the races there are boring as shit. Nobody likes Monaco.
The video is awesome, don't get me wrong, but men, when he starts to defend Hamilton, is like he puts a blidnfold and is pretty hard to listen. The idea is good, the execution is spectacular, but don't be a fan, be neutral
HOLY SHIT YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS WHAT A JOY IT IS TO BE ALIVE CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH IT LATER

A scoring system where you only score points at your home race and teams home race (or nearest race)
Example
Lando Norris would score ×2 points at the british grand prix
Oscar would score points at both Australian and the british Grand Prix
Or
1 win per season score system as soon as you win the first race your disqualified for the rest of the season

In 2016 hamilton gets more points due to luck than rosberg:
In australia vettel lost win because of strategy, in bahrain vettel didnt start the race so lewis probably be behind him in the end, monaco won because of poor ricciardo pit stop, canada another bad strategy when vettel could won, in singapore if raikkonen stop earlier he hamilton would be behind kimi and japan probably outside podium because vettel was faster than verstappen who finished 2nd but was behind lewis due to strategy
Lewis had problems with a car but he also had a lot of luck in this season
So, just to point it out:
- When Mercedes found a grey area, DAS, the regs were corrected for the subsequent season, and Mercedes could keep they das for the whole season, plus of course work on designing the car for the next season knowing the rules in advance.
For reference that ferrari did nothing illegal:

Well yes. The official story was very quiet and “they didn’t cheat”.
The whole thing about that topic is that people don’t believe it. They think it was a cover up and they technically were cheating.
at 1:42:07 you made a mistake, as Sergio Perez had Covid mid season in 2020 and also Raikkonen in 2021.
19:49 I mean god love ‘‘em but South Africa can’t even keep the power on all week. Las Vegas was a disaster too. I’d stick to the standard courses.

When can we expect 90s car rankings
It's coming soon!
All that I watch/read now is max fans starting to panic
lando has had some bad luck, misfortune, made mistakes, basically wet behind his ears still
And imo the Oscar/webber/orders has been a huge eye opener to him
It’s MORE a tall order for max to finish no lower than 2nd place than lando to finish 1st with the remaining races giving the gap he was beaten by and the 2nd McLaren hadn’t started 5th after a mistake in Q3 plus held up behind the merc and Ferrari max wouldn’t have finished 2nd too!
3 5th places, 3 2nd places, 1 4th and 6th
Lando has scored 126 with a DNF!!! which not his fault
max has scored 104
I’ll take that bet with lando and max
and also I reckon if it comes to wire and ‘another driver’ is in a position to help a another win then you watch
pay back for 2015
2007 being rigged can also linked to how ferrari also gets paid at lot more than rest of f1 teams

Turns out MoneyGram will be Haas's first title sponsor to stay for more than one season
They could've just given those drivers a point each in Silverstone 1954
Even if the concept of ground effect in 1928 made sense to the people at the time, I feel like it probably would still have failed since most Grand Prix-like races would be inappropriate for such a design. I highly doubt that Prevost's car would've felt the benefits at any track other than Indianapolis or Monza, as most races involved ungraded roads, or even worse, dirt. Makes sense why it was quickly forgotten until the 1970s.
