This is an obligatory comment, but Vinland is actually Newfoundland. Some of the first traces of Vikings landing in North America were at L'anse Aux Meadows, the most northern point of Newfoundland!
Just in case you guys missed it the guy with the feather headdress called himself Leif Ericsson. The earliest known European to discover America. So yes Vinland is america.
Vinland Saga is like Gladiator or Brave Heart, it is a story inspired in real historical events but it plays with the characters and circumstances so is not a 1:1 representation. So far Leif Eriksson and king Herald of Norway were real people.
Ehhh I'm not sure about that. They have a tendency to look at things in a modern perspective and go on tangents with said perspective. This would be apparent for Vinland Saga since the anime is historical fiction.

I think that deal worked because it's Thors. The guy stood up and dwarfed Halfdan and his men. He was talking peacefully but I think those guys were kinda intimidated the moment Thors stood up in front of them. Well, I mean... even with his calm demeanor, who wouldn't be intimidated by Thors? Looked like he could squash 3 of those guys with one swing.
Time for the most beautiful and frankly profound animes to make its appearance! I've watched season 1 more than 12 times at this point, and season 2 more 7. There has rarely been a show, anime or live action, that had such an impact on me. I'm gonna be here watching you react to this every step of the way, guys!
Great show to watch. A few fun facts. The name Vinland kind of translates to "wineland" or "land of wine". Acording to one story when Leif Erikson, a real person yes, discovered Vinland one man touched some grass and proceeded to stick his fingers in his mouth, and the dew tasted sweet. kind of like wine, vin in danish, hence Vinland. The SAGA part of the name stems from how the characters of the show seem superhuman in their feats of strenght and combat prowess. In the old sagas the characters feats are often overexagerated. So insted of saying something like "He split his head in two with a mighty swing of his sword" which is kind of possible, the sagas would say "he split him from head to groin with one mighty swing of the sword" which is not very realistic. This story, despite the superhuman like feats, is actually one of the more accurate series in terms of viking shows. This is because a lot of the characters you meet are historical, and actually exsisted at the time the show takes place. A lot of other shows take vikings from very diffrent time periods and kind of mush them all together, despite them living many years apart in reality. and they also allocate the things difrent characters did to other characters and such. So characters like Leif really did live around this time, as far as we can tell. Not gonna post other names, as those could be seen as spoilers, so yeah. IMO this is better than AOT. Just marginally, but it is. I still love AOT but this is better. S2 is the best piece of media I've ever seen.
