/// THANK YOU 😊
Thanks so much for being a part of our community. Learning English is an enriching experience that brings everyone all around the world closer together. Be sure to say “Hello” and write to us in the comments. We love hearing from all of you.
The way you wrap up the lesson by concluding with a few sentences containing all the idioms is just brilliant, and it is your signature conclusion. Love it because it is both creative and original, and useful at the same time.
Glad to hear that! Thanks for checking out the lesson. 🤗
I won’t think twice to hit the button of like because your style of teaching, your material of learning, your very comprehensible speaking ability are the factors of attraction towards learning. I enjoyed your method of teaching.
I appreciate that! Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
I won't think twice about using these idioms. Thanks a lot!
You are welcome! Glad you enjoyed the lesson. 😊
I have tried many materials and lectures for learning English, but it seems that none of them have been very effective. However, I recently discovered your channel and have learned a lot from it. I especially appreciate how you summarize and list everything in the description. Thank you very much!
Glad to hear that! Thanks for your comment. 😊
More C1 and C2 lessons ❤. Thanks for all the explanations.
Glad you enjoyed the lesson. I hope you learned some new idioms. 😉
I didn't think twice and I hit the like button.about this awesome class.
Awesome! Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
I want to thank you from my heart for this amazing presentation, which makes understanding these useful idioms easier for me!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your comment. 😊
Again, truly I tell you, if two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.
Don't forget that no-one can learn new vocabulary on such sort notice, but languages evolve constantly, so we need to bring us up to speed. Don't think twice about using these new words every day. Will it bear fruit? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Thanks for commenting & sharing. 👍
These videos are priceless. Thumbs up!!!
I appreciate it. Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
Thank you so much for your support.
teacher in Spanish we also use : (not) think twice //no pensarselo dos veces// wait and see //espera y veras // and (to be in the public eye) // estar en el ojo publico // so now you also know three advanced idioms in Spanish, I know this is your tarjet language, a lot of people from Spain and latinoamerica would love learning with you.
Compared to the last video of yours I watched, I liked this better because you offered various options in expression. You are doing good in the world. Thank you!
It was an especially great lesson with many idioms I have just barely heard of. And get a grip! One of my favorite rock and roll band is Aerosmith and I just love their album: Get a grip!
Have a nice week!
Thank you Wes for bringing me up to speed after being away from learning for some months. I wanted to make an example using some of the idioms you taught.
I didn't think twice about writing a comment, because to set the record straight, it helps practice what I learned. So I decided to write comments on short notice. Some people usually don't take things at face value and get a grip on themselves before accepting something. I believe that we should strike a balance between our emotions and our logic.
Thanks so much for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
What a useful video! Greetings from CDMX, dear teacher! 👌❤☺

Very helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your comment. 🤗
Yes, that's right.
Advanced written - or spoken - vocabulary should not be about _repeating_ someone else's words. It would be much more impressive if the constructions were _original_ - with carefully selected words of your own choice. This would give your communications persuasive personality and engaging appeal ...
Thanks a lot
Most welcome. Glad you enjoyed the lesson. 😊
I like that you also teach pronunciation tips! I read books in English, watch movies, but speaking is my weak point. I dont have much practice. By the way, I teach Russian at my channel in case somebody's interested. I'm from Donbass. We, Russian speaking people from the East Ukraine, Russia, and Belorussia have the same vocabulary and slang. But you Americans, Britains, and Australians have different vocabulary and accents and it's difficult for English learners!
Thanks for commenting, sharing, and checking out the lesson. 😊
That's just what I need.
Thanks mr wes
Glad you enjoyed the lesson. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day 👍
Most welcome. Glad you enjoyed the lesson. 😊
So much to see.
Congratulations.
You're right.
Hi teacher Wes, thank You for this usefull lesson. In certain part of the video, words were unreadable. When You wanted to do examples.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your feedback. 😊
i personally lovveee the way that you emphasis on pronunciation and stresses or wrap things up. if you add a pdf that we can download it would be fantastic so i don't have to stop the vid million times to write what you've just said❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much! Glad the lesson was helpful. 👍
I like the review part.❤
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
So much to do.
Good to run into my new Teacher
Thanks so much for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
What is coincidence / luck / logical conclusion...I just watched "Chicago PD" and TWO expressions from this video sounded there. I was proud of myself catching the meanings.
Thank you Sir.
¡Gracias!
Glad you enjoyed the lesson, Manuel. I hope you learned some new phrases. And thanks so much for your support. It means the world to me. 🙏
@@InteractiveEng the best for you Wes. Although you have not a strong american accent, i am able to catch the 95% your speeches. Other teachers, and much more docomentaries with the voice off are a bit challengue
Sir, frankly, I used to incorporate a bit of those idioms into creative writing or any other real life circumstances. Also even in academic and other professional writing tasks during my secondary level school career in saudi arabia. But later on, I realized that putting them into use is a fruitless sin, particularly in academic situations. Still nowadays , I see many students using a bunch of them in formal writing assignments at universities all over our country. This sounds pretty ambiguous to me and the reason for these students ending up getting unsatisfactory grades in exams is, of course, evident. Whatever it appears to be, I'm profoundly obliged with your enthralling lesson and I bet it'll be much beneficial for me in enriching my spoken English skills and helping me in my journey to get into grips with higher level English, such as ielts and tofels.
Hi from Kuwait
Hello. Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
Good evening.
It's a loss to miss your lessons. :)
Glad you like them! I hope you learned some new idioms. 😊
The most beautiful part in your lessons is you always include the pronunciation , linking sound and connected words/speech. This is really awesome.👍💯💯
Hi Wes good morning
Hello. Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
Hello, I always watch all of your videos as I find them fascinating. I have a question: in the sentence "I didn't think twice" man says after rescuing motorist who fell into sea. Do we need the articles before man, motorist and into sea? If we do, could you kindly rewrite the sentence?
In this context, the article is not necessary. Often you will find this construction in headlines. 👍
Hello teacher, My name is Alexandre Araújo de Carvalho, I am 36 years old, I am from Brazil.
Thanks for checking out the lesson. I hope you learned some new idioms. 🤗
Hi, thanks for this lesson! May I know what's the name of the cartoon in the get a grip on yourself section? It looks funny.
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed the lesson. 😊
Rule of thumb.
On the little advertising pic, it is written "strike a BLANCE" (what do we call that pic)?
That may be a typo. I'll have to go back and check. 🤔
Is it a regular event or once only.
If you're referring to the Lingoda offer, I think the offer is good for the next few months if you would like to join and begin the 7-day free trial. 👍
Hi there! I noticed that you don't have the so called "light 'l'". You're light and dark ones sound pretty much the same way.
Hello. I suppose it depends on the word or phase you're talking about. Of course, the Dark L will have the 'ul' sound. 👍
Get a grip on yourself you know you should
I got a grip on myself and it feels good
Get a grip on yourself take my advice
I got a grip on myself and it feels nice

Are these really idioms or special expressions? Thx
These are idioms because the meaning of the phrase is different than the individual words. Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
Strike a balance between family and job
Set the record straight
At/ on such short notice
Take something at face value
The best of both worlds
To be in the public eye
Get a grip ; control you emotion
Off the record : ( not want the information to be public)
To bring someone up to speed
Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
I noticed that you omitted the sound 't' in the world 'often'. But Britains in movies pronounce the 't' in the 'often'.
Yes, that's a difference between the two. It's the same if I say the word 'soften.' 👍
Give your information on a sheet notice
Those idioms that I think are very useful but it's so hard to make a mental note of all.
Thanks for checking out the lesson. I hope you learned some new idioms. 😉
Up to speed.
Does 'bring me up to speed' mean 'fill me in'?
Yes, they are similar. 👍
I won't think twice to eat this ice cream or not:)

I appreciate your comment. Keep up the good working. Hope the lessons are helping you build your vocabulary. 🤗
That's what I just said.
Guess all this stuff is used in daily conversation
Indeed. 😉
I don't know what benchmark means.
In this case, it's similar to a 'goal.' Thanks for checking out the lesson. 👍
You need to get a grip
Think twice before answering
🎯 off-topic query 🎯
⭕ He's still getting over his illness, so it's unrealistic to expect too much from him.
⭕ Are you clear what is expected of you?
⭕ Don't expect sympathy from me!
⭕ That's not the sort of behaviour I expect of you!
❓What are the differences between using 'from' and 'of' in these instances?
❓Are they interchangeable?
