The good folks at UTK reached out to me to see if I would be interested in one of their products. They make Far Infrared heating pads for just about every part of the body. I have been dealing with carpal tunnel in my left hand for a very long time. Playing drums for so many years has definitely taken its toll.
I have had heating therapy used in sessions with physical therapists many times and I know it works in healing but I have dragged my feet for ages getting something for myself. So I accepted the offer from UTK. The only catch for me was to make a video using the product. I can honestly say I am a real fan of the thumb brace heating pad and put it through its paces for quite a while before making this video.
In fact, the folks at UTK thought I had forgotten about them. I definitely did not. I have been traveling like crazy all over the globe with the band Mr Big and also my band Big Big Train. I use the UTK thumb brace heating pad after the shows and it really helps my hand feel better. Especially the next day. I would encourage you to check out their products if you have aches and pains. Yes nick im 59 playing drums since 1980 15 when i started 2018 had left hand carpull tunnel op hurts like hell after wards took 8 months to really get my left hand back to playing without pain after the op all good now
My right arm i broke in 3 places wrist and both major for arm bones 2 yrs to get it back after having it plated on both bones
I mainly play metal punk
Got into some funk and jazz since the carpull op

It is great to read that you have recovered enough to still play and still enjoy it. I will admit I am afraid of getting the carpal tunnel surgery. Everyone’s experience is so different. I also can’t afford to take that much time off if it did not go well. I’ve heard some say they were back playing in a week. So it is all over the map. Thankfully for now I use things like the UTK pad and warm up a lot and I can still rock. For now…
