You have never seen The Lord of the Rings ?!?!?!! You must. You will not believe the movies have ended when the credits roll. They ar not long when you are watching. And you will forever be a fan of middle earth and the Shire.
Read the books way before movies. The movies made it come to life even more. I was in my forties and didn't get the appeal but my wife just kept laughing and I couldn't figure out what was appealing about kids books. Converted me for sure.
The next Potter film is one of my favorites. The Prisoner of Azkaban. Anxious for that one. Yes Ron and Hermione have an interest in each other. There will be a new actor for Dumbledore. The original actor, Richard Harris, had passed away.
Bookworm or nerd. Either works for me. 😂 I've been reading books since I was 3 and started reading Nancy Drew by the time I was 8 so yeah I'm a book reader. In the books Harry was upgraded to the smallest of Dudley's 2 bedrooms in the first book because his aunt and uncle were worried about the "people" watching them judging them. With them it's all about appearances. Plus they didn't want any of "those people" showing up because of how Harry was shoved in a closet and risk having the neighbors hear or see anything. Technically there are only 28 "pureblood" families in the wizarding world so Hagrid is pretty much right. It's supposed to be rooster blood but in the books it was paint used to write on the wall. 1. Ron wouldn't accept the money for a new wand. The Weasley family is too proud to accept what they consider charity. 2. Ron wasn't about to ask his parents after the trouble over the car and the amount of monet they just laid out for school books plus supplies and a wand for Ginny. The Lockhart books were pretty pricey even used. Harry did give the free set Lockhart gave him to Ginny and bought his own. He told Mrs. Weasley that either they accepted them or he'd just throw them away because he didn't want them. Professor McGonagall is Deputy Headmistress so she takes over if Dumbledore is gone. The Hagrid body double is 6'10" and was wearing a special Hagrid "suit" that made him even bigger.
If you go back and look at these 1st 2 films there is Susan Bones (Hufflepuff) who is the redhead frequently next to Hermione. She is Eleanor Columbus, the director's daughter! Also there is an old white haired professor (Kettleburn: care of magical creatures teacher): the actor is Tom Felton's grandfather! Neither will appear from now onwards.
The sword appeared because it can appear to any worthy Gryffindor in their time of need :) Dumbledore also told Harry that Phoenixes have healing power in their tears and could carry immensely heavy loads. If I remember correctly, they basically make anything touching them to have no weight. After you watch all the movies you should check out the 20th Anniversary Hogwarts video! There is also a lot of small things in the movies that have a big importance sometimes. There is a lot of symbolism and significance with names and such in this series. I would also suggest to watch with the captions on...there's a few things you could pick up on that you might not have without the captions on! Definitely, read the books! Both of you! The books are simply AMAZING!! They did a really good job in translating the books to film, but the books really do have so much more information and things that they can't include in the movies or they would be like 3-4hrs long lol
Quidditch has 7 players in each team. 3 Chasers 2 Beaters 1 Keeper 1 Seeker The Chasers are in charge of scoring goals by catching the Quaffle balls and throwing them into one of 3 hoops at the other team's side of the field. Beaters are in charge of protecting their players from getting hit by the Blugger balls with wooden bat's. They are also in charge of hitting the opposing team with the bluggers by using their bats. The Keeper's job is to protect their team's hoops by not allowing the opposing team to score any goals by blocking the Quaffle and preventing it from getting through their hoops. The Seeker's job is to find the Snitch and catch it before the other team does. Once the Snitch is caught then the game ends. 👉You Don't necessarily win when you catch the snitch. Yes, the snitch is 150 points and the game does end when the snitch is caught. But the team that catches the snitch can loose the game if the opposing team had already gained far more points prior to the snitch being caught. So it's important to score as many points as possible with the Quaffle and hoops before any seeker of any team catches the snitch causing the game to end. Unfortunately, they never show it in any of the Harry Potter movies (so this is not a spoiler to any future Potter movies) but in one of the books Harry witnesses a certain team loose a certain Quidditch match dispite that team's Seeker having caught the snitch. BTW, did you know that people became such a massive fan of the fictional sport of Quidditch that college students made it into a real world international sport that are played in real colleges all over the world. Players compete with broomstick between their legs and the snitch is a person (dressed in gold with a handkerchief tucked into his or her's belt) running around all over the place. The seeker has to catch the person playing as the snitch by grabbing onto the handkerchief and pulling it off the snitch's body. You can do a UA-cam search and view a few matches played in different countries. I have seen 2 or 3 Quidditch matches in person back in the day. Tons of fun. If you ever want to know how Quidditch is played and it's fictional history the author of Harry Potter, JK Rowling also wrote other books for charities. One of them is called Quidditch Through the Ages and it is written as if it were one of Harry Potter's text books. 🧹📚
Just a reminder of Hogwarts Houses and their traits. Depending on each student's personality traits they are sorted into their house during their first night on their first year of Hogwarts. Gryffindor values bravery, loyalty, and chivalry. Ravenclaw values intelligence, creativity, and wit. Hufflepuff values kindness, hard work, and patience. Slytherin values ambition, cunning, and resourcefulness. When a student has personality traits that fits more than one Hogwarts House the Sorting Hat will have a hard time making up it's mind. This is called a "Hat Stall" and it will take to account what the student wants. This is what you saw happened to Harry Potter when he got sorted. It took Harry's opinion to account. Also each Hogwarts House has a mascot. Gryffindor is a Lion. 🦁 Slytherin is a Snake. 🐍 Hufflepuff is a Badger. 🦡 Ravenclaw is an Eagle and NOT a raven. Some of the Harry Potter movies made this mistake. And many people also make this same false assumption. 🦅 If you are ever unsure what house some of the students in the movies are in just look at the lining in their robes or the color of their ties. Gryffindor is red and gold. Slytherin is green and silver. Hufflepuff is gold/yellow and black. And Ravenclaw is blue and bronze. 🏰❤💚💛💙🪄
When you catch the snitch you get 150 points & the game ends. If, possibly, you are behind by 160 points when you catch it you will still lose the game. Wood’s explanation in the first movie was in error.
34:31 I literally had to pause the video for a second and think to myself, “did they steal my cat??” While fully knowing I just saw her 2 mins ago. My female cat, Ivy, looks just like your handsome boy!! The eye color and everything. I’ve always loved Ivy’s eyes, they’re a pretty pale green, not as deep of a green or yellow as the usual cat eyes are. Give your boy a pet for me!!🫶🏻🫶🏻 loving the reaction so far!
The thing about the Harry Potter books is that the author, JK Rowling originally wrote the series for adults. It was the book publishers that decided to advertise it as children's books. If you read between the lines of the story you will see it is a satire. First, one has to understand that you the reader are looking at the story through Harry Potter's point of view as he grows up throughout the years at Hogwarts. In the first book and movie Harry is 11 years old so you see his world from his 11 year old mindset and maturity. But as he grows up and begins to understand things more and more the story gets darker and less innocent as he matures with age. The reason I call the books a satire is that many of the stories deals with racism of a different kind and political corruption. Dobby might be a house elf but nevertheless he is a slave just the same. There might not be any racism in the wizarding world against people of color but there is racism against wizards who do not come from pure magical families. Harry doesn't see the horrible similarities between the wizarding world and the muggle world at this point because he is only 12 years old during The Chamber of Secrets. To a certain extent he is still an innocent little boy and is not mature enough to comprehend it all to the fullest extent. 🏰🧙♂️🧙🏻♀️🧒🪄⚡️📚📽🎞🖤
To expand, Ginny was killing the birds and writing the messages. Of course, at the time, she had no notion that she was doing it. Tom told her to kill the birds so the basilisk would not hear them and die.
I'm not gonna lie....when I first saw the basilisk in this movie, I had the same reaction Ron had with Aragog. (side note: I am NOT fearful of snakes or spiders). Also, every time I hear Hermione say "She's a little sensitive" to describe Moaning Myrtle, I always have the same first thought: A LITTLE sensitive?" Side note: Hedwig is a snowy owl. They have white feathers with black spots that act as camouflage when they're hunting, their wing feathers are ruffled to muffle their wing flaps so prey animals don't hear them coming (like all owls, really) and they're the only birds in the world whose feet aren't bare, due to their habitat being snowy areas, like the Arctic Tundra.
A lot of ad lib stuff was kept in during this film because it fitted so well with the story and the charators. When Malfoy meets up with Crabbe and Goyle and asks about the glasses he couldn't remember his next line so said 'i didn't know you oculd read' it cracked everyone up on set so they left it in. The actor who plays Crabbe wasn't supposed to stand up and clap but got swept up in the moment so Tom Felton pulled him down and again they left it in. Jason issac wasn't supposed to say 'Let's hope Mr Potter will always be around to save the day' but wanted to joke Daniel. But Dan came right back with 'Don't worry I will be'. Jason said Daniel was one of the most talented actors he'd ever worked with. Also being he was added later all the interactions with Dooby were done to then be fitted in later. Jason Issac's did the kick as the thought it was the sort of nasty thing Lucius would do so they created the CGI Dobby accordingly. CGI was very much in its infancy when the first movie came out but as they knew they were in it for the long haul with at first 7 then as decided 8 films they invested heavily in its development. For many years the UK became the home of advanced CGI and special effect purely due to the advances made during the making of these movies. The UK is still up there as one of if not the best. Uk studios have won many Oscars for best special effects on other movies since.
4th house is Hufflepuff, im on rewatching this one and the rest of the series as checking my box set works. I love this series, Great video guys 😊👍🐾👋💜😁
In the scene where Hermione accidentally turns herself into a cat is actually prosthetic make up also in that scene that's not Emma because at the time she was allergic to the make up so her body double filmed the scene instead.
Fun fact: Emma Watson felt embarrassed/awkward having to hug both Daniel and Rupert while everyone was watching them on the set so she ran to hug Daniel and then just shook hands with Rupert which actually fits their characters.
The craze was first about the books and the people who had read the books were anxious to see the movies. The movies picked up other fans who had not read the books and drove more people to read the books. Reading the books might add to your enjoyment of the movies because they left so many things unsaid, changed, missed, or easy to miss in the movies. And many of those things left too much unexplained creating lack of appreciation for or poor interpretation of certain characters and/or actions
Guys, do you plan on continuing with the series? It gets progressively better, darker, more complex and mature. Love your reactions and would love to see you go all the way with the Harry Potter series.
When you finish the Harry Potter films, please consider watching and reacting to Team StarKid's musical trilogy that parodies the films. There is bad language and "adult" content, but the shows are worth it. The audio is meh so subtitles may be needed, but the acting, the writing, the humor, and the music/songs are all worth the chance. Hopefully, watching those shows will send you down the StarKid journey and convince you to watch and react to all of their shows. I hope you consider it.
So... I came back after a couple months and it seems... you stopped your HP - Trip after the first two movies and I can understand that, cause the first two ones are not THAT good, as the next ones going on... so I am just sorry for you, that you didn`t move on. Maybe you`ll give it a go? Would love it! Greetings from Austria :) gery
I reccomend trying to watch all the HPs close together as they are all connected. If your missing the connections between movies, you're missing so much.
My favorite scene is with Hermione, upset at being called a Mudblood. The scene between her & Hagrid was beautiful & heart wrenching.
You have never seen The Lord of the Rings ?!?!?!! You must. You will not believe the movies have ended when the credits roll. They ar not long when you are watching. And you will forever be a fan of middle earth and the Shire.
This movies gets darker and darker later on
Diagon Alley - Diagonally, Knockturn Alley - Nocturnally.
🤯💥
My favorite film of the franchise because of what it sets up. I love the big origin link/reveal of Voldemort
Whenever you just see the Basilisk head in a shot it's practical, when you see it's whole body it's CGI.
Read the books way before movies. The movies made it come to life even more. I was in my forties and didn't get the appeal but my wife just kept laughing and I couldn't figure out what was appealing about kids books. Converted me for sure.

It is not the cat's blood, but that of a rooster. The crow of a cockerel kills the basilisk.

We were actually just talking about part 3 the other day... possibly sooner than you think 😉
They rushed the post production cgi in the first one.
Hope you're going to finish the series. They get more serious and become less "children" stories.
The best one is next, Prisoner of Azkaban! 😊
Dumbledore is lying.
