    I found this video about two hours after I bought one of these from a pawn shop for $30. I guess got a better deal than I thought I did.

    That amp is insane. I still have mine that I bought 15-20 years ago as my beginner amp and it's the only amp I ever owned cos I never saw the need to upgrade. I used it in both at gigs and the studio and it always cuts through the mix like a hot knife through butter. I even preserved the speaker tone in an impulse response just in case god forbid the cone tears or some shit and I wouldn't be able to find an exact replacement.

      A little more neutral sounding, but I wish I had my starter zoom pedal-crate amp rig. 8 think every guitarist should be warned they’ll regret letting go of their starting rig
      Oh man! I’d be interested in that ir (is it for sale?) I’m a little late on this reply surely..

    I was given one of these a few years ago. The cleans were actually really good for a cheapo.
    And the OD in them actually aren’t too bad once you take the time to EQ them a bit.
    I actually used 2 of these in stereo with a boss GT-100 3 years ago. Loved the tone I got out of them.

    I have this amp for over 20 years now and can honestly say it really sucks but the way you set it up is pretty nice sounding.

      Haha! It’s definitely it’s own thing. I can appreciate the concession, try it with a Marshall type speaker/cabinet when you get a chance if you haven’t yet! I find the overly articulate speakers a bit much
      Thanks for watching! ✨🙏🏼✨

    Yes always put a resonant filter before any type of drive at the right frequency, and you well get some nice screaming ;)

    Nice video! This was my first amp. Lent it to a friend after I got something nicer and never got it back. I always said these little amps are great, especially if you use them as a preamp and feen them into a clean power amp. Not sure if that is the correct way to do things, but I tend to hack and tinker with my stuff. Before I got a bigger amps (Fender G-DEC 30, First Generation; Crate GFX-1200H. Mesa Boogie Blue Angel), I would take my second amp I bought, a Roland Micro-Cube (First Generation), and I would use that as an pre-amp( because it modeled the Marshall amp tone I was after and had more built-in effects, so I really didn't need any pedals) into the Fender 15G used as a clean power amp. I liked the sound, but it was when I was just starting to play, so I want to revisit what I was doing since I can play a little better now, and have more of an ear for guitar tone now, as well as that I still have the Roland Micro-Cube.

    Change the speaker and you have a different amp. I put a $30 Warehouse speaker in mine which had been sitting for a couple decades. Now it is used constantly in my living room.

    Hi, nice video. Thanx for making me curious: This saturday, I‘ll buy a second hand, two years old, Squier Aff HSS. It will be a set with this amp. I‘ve got lots of „good“ gear and was thinking of selling the amp next week. But you changed my with. Can‘t wait for trying it!

      How did you do the hookup in the back for cabinet hookup. Did u just put another input on it

    • @TheQShow
      @TheQShow  Рік тому +1

      @@Kaos420srhI just very crudely drilled a hole and soldered a cable jack where the speaker used to go.
      At some point I’ll redo it with a shorting jack so that when unplugged it’ll send signal to the built in speaker.
      That’s what I’d recommend to anyone trying to do this at home :)

    I just found one that looks in mint condition for $25 lol. I will now go check it out in person and I won't even offer the dude less(rare for me to not try and lowball lmao) just because of this video lol. Side note: I need this amp like I need a hole in my head(I have WAY WAY WAY too many mf amps tube and solid state but wtf for $25 right?). Cool video though. Also I have plenty of speakers to experiment with. Did you say what exact speaker you're playing through? I'll watch this again and see if you mention it. Thanks broski

    This is the amp I use for school stuff because it sucks and I dont want to use my good amp. I think I'm coping hard trying to find reasons to stop referring to this amp as "my shit amp"

    • @TheQShow
      @TheQShow  Рік тому +1

      It’s really not that bad! I’ve sorta made a running joke of bringing 30-50w solid state amps to gigs, with the right speaker and a respectful pedal rig they all have good sounds in them :)

      It’s all visible in the vid, altho i’m running it through a cab sim so you’re hearing what it’d sound like out of an “idealized cabinet scenario” more or less. Does that make sense?
