The reason why it sounds like a clean signal and a distorted one mixed is because of the way they do clipping. They're using soft clipping and driving it hard with a very clean signal. You can achieve a similar effect by using a clean booster before an overdrive being powered with 18v.

Low expectations going into the video, wasn't disappointed at all. It made it's noise, said it's peace and as long as it still works for another day, that's all that matters.
Was going to get the old black grill version, back in 2000, but luckily the salesman talked my parents into getting the Fender Frontman 25R instead (was a birthday present along with my first electric guitar). Thought I was going to get one of those cheap Squier Strat packs with the amp + guitar for around $180 or whatever, ended up getting the 25R and a Washburn BT-2 for double the cost. Dan Pavlovic I don’t think that really applies... it’s well known that the full size 6505 chugs so its naturally expected that the pirhana will to as it’s just a downsized model. I think the “will it chug” segment is more towards amps that people won’t expect like beginners type amps

That’s the face I make when i try and chug a fender/squier/vox. They fight you every bit of the way trying to cut that “annoying” clean sound out. I tried metal zones, overdrives. They just are not built for it! Great video! If the Rev pedal can’t do it, it can’t be done!
Your facial expressions for the first two minutes into the Frontman, is pretty funny. I rewound it and watched it while the sound was muted. You looked exactly like the the tourists here in NYC when they're lost and are trying to find their hotel.
The gain of a non-inverting amplifier is 1 + R2 / R1. If you put clipping diodes in parallel with R2 (effectively making R2 nonlinear in its response), then you have a standard Tube Screamer distortion circuit. But no matter how much clipping you get from R2, there's still that 1 up front, meaning you get the unaffected clean sound simultaneous with the distorted sound. Well i get it from a friend, it feels good for the beginner like me tbh.
I had a Fender Frontman and Metal Zobe back in the late 90's. That amp left quite an impression on me: I've never bought anything made by Fender since.
to be honest fender is for clean tones and slight OD for some rock tones. anything more and it sounds complete trash.
and your metal zone probably did more harm than good
Try with a Valvestate 80 😈😂
I've never seen Ola use a piece of gear he couldn't get a good Tone out of, so this one is deffinately on squier/fender!
I just bought my first electrical guitar from the Squire pack with the 10g amp I’m regretting my choice I should’ve bought the guitar by itself and a better amp I’m 15 and I spent all my life savings for a fart noise amp smh
Keep it going. We all start somewhere! Try a pedal or two, and keep 'er going. I've played for 30 years(I'm not very good) got my first tube amp 6 years ago. It takes a while.
check in at local pawn shops for used amps, i've found a few gems for under $100. if you're computer savvy torrent yourself guitar rig 5 (you can find cracked versions for free), buy an interface (usually around $100 or even less **even a rocksmith cable will work though there is some latency to deal with). and for the guitar you can finance same as cash through zzounds (who does free 2 day shipping) or sweetwater ( no 2 day shipping but will sometimes include a case or have more specials running).
Thank you all for the advice I’ll keep that in my mind 👍🤘🎸
When I was 15 I had to make my own guitar out of pine in woodshop at school, and plugged into an old record player. Could be worse for you
I'm in the exact same situation lol
I love this series!!!!!
Ola: *chugs
Amp: “🤮🤮🤮”
Lovin the single cutaway axe!
i think that 8 string guitar.. it needs a little bit thicker string gauge on bottom end string.. it's too wobble for me.. but still chugging on small amp.... lol ;)
Absolute great video brother!! Hahahaha... The facial expressions and honesty is so real!
