Thatch didn't eat the fruit. The rule on Whitebeard's ship was that whoever finds the fruit gains the right to eat it but before Thatch could consume it, Blackbeard killed him and stole the fruit, ultimately consuming it.

Correct me if im wrong but there are 2 previous users of the human human fruit sun god model: Joyboy and Nika… It might be a misunderstanding because the translations aren’t official yet. Nika saved the oldest countries and Joyboy the newest ones during the void century. Maybe another user 300 years ago when the ancient robot awakened (I don’t think so)
