Back in the day i liked this so much i wore out 2 albums!
Great cover, of one of the top 100 rock songs of all time.
About 81 or 82. Just played this f o r e v e r .
Garland re-introduced me to this Classic in 80 when he covered it. Just a kick-ass cover of akick-ass CLASSIC ! ......Garland is STILL ROCKIN', even as we speak, somewhere in the world. YOU CAN BET ON THAT!..
About 20 years later: Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band with Garland Jeffreys - 96 Tears. (Gawd, I'd give a year off my life for a HQ version of this.)
Commenting in 2022. Great song on a great show. Fridays was very funny.
Great Cover! Saw you last night, in Jersey, you OWN this song! Thanks for posting - I know I thanked you in person last night, and I thank you again - today - Garland.

Garland Jeffreys and The Rumour!
I liked Garland Jeffreys when this song came at. I thought he had that New Wave sound -- and a great song. It was only later that I leaner that the song was an old standard Detroit, US song !
The Best front man Ever !!
so ultra cool ~ Hail Hail
studio version entered Billboard March 14, 1981 ..reached #66.. originally by ? and the Mysterians in Sept, 1966
