This is my all time favorite song, I love it sooooooo much , it makes me want to get up and dance , dance. Never get tired of this song.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
In the Fall of 1966 a friend and I were hitchhiking home (from college) on I 75 . At the Midland exit, a step van pulled over and a guy waved us in.. It was Que and the band. Turns out they were headed to their first $$ gig at MT Holly ski resort. It was a hazed fill trip. We stayed for the show then continued our journey home! Spoke with him many years later..he has an amazing story to tell of 60's music!
When I was in high school (graduated in 1967) our band used to play this song only we changed the words............69 tears. Got us thrown out of a lot of school dances. What great years those were. I'd go back in a minute.
Question Mark (Rudy Martinez) was born in 1945. That puts him in his early 50's in this video. If he was 70 when this was filmed in 1997 that means he would have been born around 1926-27 making him 40 years old when 96 Tears came out in 1966...I don't think so. But he can still move pretty good for a guy in his 50's if you ask me.
amazing, one of best organ intros of all time, I have both of their cameo parkway lps in mint condition, my son used to go to music stores when he was 14 & noodle & doodle on the keyboards, no one in store paid attention until he broke into 96 tears & at that moment he owned the store. this was in 2005 & he is a monster player on the Hammond b-3, but says nothing is better than a farfisa & vox played thru a leslie
I never knew the bass line was so funky.....😂 When everything dropped out so we could hear the bass line more prominently i was like "wtf".....😂 That was hot!! Great band!! They have been rocking for decades! I don't really know their catalog but saw about an hour of them live doing other tunes! Everything was terrific and the front man is incredibly energetic!! I was a tiny tiny boy when this was a hit so i didn't really know the song well until i was a grown man.... Weird because i know a lot of 60's classics and obscure one hit wonder tunes but this was one that escaped me all those years... Keep on rockin guys! Gives a 60 yr old wanna be musician/guitarist great inspiration!!
My folks had a store at the tip of the thumb of Michigan in the early to mid sixties. Open from just before Memorial Day till just after Labor Day. Just across M-25 from Lake Huron. Large day use county Oak Beach Park across on the shore. Large Camping park next to the store. Pizza joint on the other side. Ice cream / trampoline place across the street. At the camp , out towards the road was a pavilion where occasionally on a Friday or Saturday night they would have a live band to give all the kids around something else to do besides pinball and jukebox at the pizza place. OK, I cannot say that ? and the Mysterions played there?, but we heard their song ALOT from 66 - 68. Forward to 1968, fam moved to Vassar Mi where... who do we have in our school? Frontman looks great for his age. I was going to say, he got moves to rival Mick Jagger''s energetic moves in his older years. If you watch the original black and white video of this band from 1966, you'll see the frontman always had the cool moves, I'm just supposed he's got the energy of a young buck still. It's awesome they still rock together.
@@glenparsons3849 Yeah, I know he didn't have bad intentions but it's way off to think an original like Question Mark would rival Mick Jagger, an upper class college prep student who got into old records and these days boasts of ski trips and expensive wine with Jann Wenner- it's a laugh. The Stones should get the kind of flak that Elvis gets; Mysterians are a thousand times more vibrant and soulful than the Stones. It's a joke.
I always loved to dance to this; still do. But I never had seen the group members till I saw them on a PBS fundraising special in 2013 near Gainsville, FL. and the lead singer is amazing. Love to watch that man dance!!Mm-ah. Is he Native American; he looks like it to me. Very nice looking guy. Oh, and he sings good too and the other guys are good too. Lol!!
@@ariellyn7253 Guess I need to set the record straight….the original Mexicans WERE Native Americans. In fact, if you go back far enough, all of the original inhabitants of North, Central and South America came from Russia. And if you go back 250,000 years, ALL human beings actually came from Africa. So, I suppose when you look at it like that, we’re all native Africans! This will certainly piss off millions of racists in the world!……you know, realizing that they are all of African decent. Personally, I’m just happy to be alive! Sorry for the rant…..just felt I had to throw that out there.
Great bass hook and driving drums. Question Mark aka Rudy Martinez hasn’t slowed up a bit. Amazing frontman and sings this song verbatim every single time. Amazing Energy!
Dang they're still good, voices and all. I saw them on a fund-raising special on PBS in FL in 2012 or 2013. Still got the moves and all. But I know he didn't his clothes off the rez.

He would have performed this 1 song thousands of times by this stage and he stills puts in 100%!
Thank you for noticing!
These guys are from the same town Madonna grew up in, Bay City, MI. which is 100 miles north of Detroit.
Love this guy ❤
? was a cross between Prince & Mick Jagger‼ Brilliant‼
? enjoys performing as much as the crowd enjoys being entertained by him..

He was Prince, before there was a prince.
Always loved this song and I still have my original 45 :) Played it recently too. A favorite always.
Damn he could be a fitness instructor with his energy!!!
Shades of Mick Jagger, voice and moves with music to match the Stones !!
If you've got a band with a keyboard and you're not doing this tune.........you got some 'spainin' to do!!
Michigan produces the best musicians
CBGBs always had this record playing when the lights were on..
