You might need to make a trip over to NC to come drive my 1991 Celica GTS. It was built by Allen Wood from Wilde Lexus Sarasota. Powered by a 3rd Gen WRC 3SGTE mated to an E153 w/ Quaife LSD, Full suspension, BBK and nice wheel/Tire combo. Im only mentioning it because this AW!! sounds exactly like my car.
For 1990-1993 SW20/21 only. Pretty much resolved after that and the AW11 didn't suffer from it. I owned a 1992 SW20 for a decade and survived. Even drove it through a Wisconsin winter with bald summer tires one year. It was hairy but I'm proof it can be done.
Snap oversteer is a driver error in ALL mid engine cars. It's a mistake that you have to be pretty stupid to make, so that's why an affordable turbo mid engine car is known for it. The aw11 and zzw30 are plenty capital of snap oversteer. Alright you're driving your mr2 fast through the twisty road and you start plowing through a turn with understeer and then you decide to hold the front wheels in place whilst not having front end traction and you let off the throttle to try to slow down and regain traction. What this actually does is shift all of the weight forward which does get the front wheels back their traction and the front end turns but the rear end whips around like a spinning top because the weight already shifted forward and off of the rear wheels. Another issue is when you let off the throttle in an older turbo car, The weight shifts forward and the boost kicks in, easily loosing traction in the rear. The small change made to the sw20 suspension was in 93 not 94
@@jcrispykilpatrick9504 i've NEVER had an issue with my aw11 with snap over steer. It was a known problem for very early SW20, which was revised. Maybe if people did do dumb mods to their cars they might have the same issue. But haven't known an aw11 to have it.

If you think this car feels insane, try driving an AC Cobra with a 427 in it. Similar weight bias but with a front mid engine it won't snap oversteer as easily, weighs about the same overall and has surprisingly good driving dynamics for such an old design. At any speed at all, in any gear, if you're cruising and punch the throttle, it feels like someone rear ended you it comes on so hard. If they're tuned up right, they make about 500 NA horsepower too. I've never driven or ridden in anything that comes close.
