- Thanks to a wonderful British Summer (more rain than sunshine!) The granular fert has kicked in. However, it seems as though we have missed some sections. D'oh.
So, in this video, I look to correct it with Liquids again with a @YardBrah esque mollycoddle mix!

Re; lines, I'm almost certain that your spreader is leaking, causing an excessive amount of granular fertilizer to be applied, and now the grass is stressed.
Could be this, hope not, but the grass is looking a bit better now and the grass isn't dying off. Will see how it is in the next few weeks. I'll be washing the spreader out before the next application.
@@TheReelMowingMowingClub Fingers crossed the grass is just stressed from the overdose. I had a similar experience in the past: I thought the grass would die as it turned brown, and I feared that was it... However, after a good rain and 2-3 weeks, the overdosed spots returned in full glory. 🤞

I used jacks magic and had the exact same weeds as you - I actually used weedol lawn after a few months and it cleared them all up
The risk with Jacks it seems. I have used weedol and rate it but I have suggested Greenforce to people as an alternative and wanted to try it myself. I think it will be more beneficial against the more stubborn weeds that weedol struggles against

This is why I prefer a rotary spreader as it dispenses more evenly with a granular feed.
Hey Tony. I usually apply on the side lawn with the rotary but used the drop in this occasion and I can't recall why! Will be using it on the side moving forward tho!

The colour green from the drone footage mate is incredible and you could not tell the two seeds apart, both look exactly the same shade of dark green. I put granular fert down on mine about a week ago and noticed some yellow areas at my back lawn, and started scratching my head wondering if it was areas I didn't cover as well, so earlier I just used a liquid lawn feed in a watering can to just sprinkle on the yellow areas. So will see if they blend in soon.
I also bought a box of Westland lawn feed, weed and moss killer granules to try from home bargains cheap, as I have one or two weeds popping up, and have found using resolva weed killer for lawns spray bottle that it yellows the grass surrounding the weed, so going to see if the Westland granules feed, weed and moss killer is better.

It looks super green with the drone. Suspect the camera is set slightly different to the phone camera and still learning on this side of thing but it's already super dark with the liquids from.last night.
I need to clean the spreader as I think there might be old gunked up crap in there affecting some distribution or its more likely me and poor lining up!
Greenforce arrived today. Will see what it does in the coming weeks!
@@TheReelMowingMowingClub nice mate, I would imagine the battery and charger would be included with the prize also. Although many cordless items these days from the likes of Lidl, Toolstation etc are bare units only, but wouldn't imagine they will send you just the strimmer and nothing else. Shouldn't take more than a couple of days for your yellow areas to darken and match the rest. Keep up the great work👍

Absolutely top lawn really enjoy your videos and seeing what can be achieved, could you answer one question? How many grams of the elixer hi nitrogen feed do you put in 5lt of water to cover 100sqm of lawn

2g per ltr of water is the recommended max doesage.
I'd calibrate the sprayer first and see how much water you need then calculate from there.
If it's 5lts, then your looking at 10gram of High N.
Lawn is on point other than those yellow lines bro. I guess I'm confused why there would be lines both ways if you went in opposite directions with the drop spreader? I've never seen anything like that other than burn from fertilizer getting caught in the Scotts spreader wheels. I'm interested to see what happens with this...
Cheers man. I went up and down, left and right. It's looking a bit better now with the new liquids but as you'd expect, the rest of the lawn is super dark!

I dropped into Greencare on Friday and picked up some Seaweed & Molturf!
Definitely agree you've missed a few stripes with your drop spreader while applying granular feed. Would it be worth running over those missed stripes with the spreader, with a bit of granular fertiliser?
good eggs at Greencare aren't they! The molturf is some proper good stuff!
Will try this masking process with the liquids first and see how it goes over the next two weeks. If its still problematic, then I'll be looking to reapply with a clean spreader!!

I am new to lawn care, about to get some liquids from Greencare just to give my lawns a boost in between the seasonal feed by a local company. Just came across your previous videos that you applied liquids the day after you applied the granular spring and summer, and there were Elixir high nitrogen, Angus lawn tonic which also contains 5% nitrogen, wouldn’t it be too much and risk burning the grass?

The granular will take a few days to break down and will feed the lawn for upto 8 weeks.
The liquids will go on and give an almost instant kick to the lawn and last about 2 - 3 weeks.
Not had any issues to date
If you'd got them discoloured lines all over like that it would look like you meant to do a real detailed tartan pattern with the thin lines :D

Crazy! I'm not on that group. Left as my posts went onto admin approval, and now glad I'm not in it. And I post in several groups as, even though there is a small cross over of members, I'm proud of my lawn. Anyway! Enough of that. Haters gonna hate!
When I used the Ferrogranual I would always looked to limit how much goes on the flags. But the stuff I'm using now is chelated so no staining apparently and seems to be true. I won't spray a load on to test this but a little won't do much damage
Hi daniel. I noticed you sprayed some of your mix on to the flagstones in between the 2 lawns. The fact the mixture contains iron are you not worried that they'll stain?
I'm not worried but the wife is!
The liquid iron is chelated so is non staining.
If it was the Ferrogranual then I would be concerned, but then would need to remove it with break cleaner or similar
i always use lquid s, spoon feed. and this is why.same mower as me , what height do you cut at?
Never had an issue before which, but used a rotary spreader previously.

Good morning! In this video height is set on the mower at 20mm. However in the most recent video it was cut at 15mm and looked very good..
To be honest those lines look like scorch marks where fertilizer overlapped, or was too heavy.
Potentially, however the grass is not dying off from excessive fert burn, yet! But it's looking better already from the liquid application
Have you rewatched the video to suss out why that line crosses almost exactly between lawns, or is it coincidence?
Didn't record the application of the fert that Saturday, so suspect it's coincidence
Not knowing much about lawns..& the care thereof ( time & finance being an issue ), I might have a reason for that 'straight-line discolouration'. I re-seeded in early spring, & used granular fertiliser a couple months later..we have a 'utility line' running across one side of the lawn, where a curve of bricks/stone had been laid- ( clear demarcation of a curve ), & this is were the 'yellowing grass' appeared..right along that curve. So..might be the reason, especially if it's that uniform 😊
This would cross my mind, but I rotovated the whole area on the side lawn in August, and 'sandcapped' it, and there were no lines, and the small lawn was completely dug out thanks to 2 days of back breaking work!!!
