What shoes are you skating right now and why did you go for them over anything else ?

Great video. Good lighting, good audio and good content.
Surprised to see you wearing Nike and even more surprised to see you wearing low tops.
I like the look of those and yes, I would definitely consider the high top version.
The air zoom unit is not as bad as it looks. You’re probably so used to footprint insoles which are great but if you compare the Nike sb insoles with other skate shoes, the Nike ones are not so bad.
The mistery glue at the toe cap ? Intriguing
    👊

Thanks mate, I think I’ve had these for about 3 years and only really wore them skating concrete and maybe only a few times for anything else. It was really all about those toe caps. Same reason for the Vans BMX high tops i reviewed a while back.
If a shoe has crazy good toe protection I’m usually willing to try it if I can’t get a high top version. A couple of years ago it was really hard to get any good high tops but they seem to have come back in fashion a little bit which is good for me. But yeah I don’t think any insoles work for me better than my footprint combo so I’ll never be really happy with anything else. The vans ultra Cush and Pop Cush are good but they are not thick enough at the front for me really. Will post up the glue video very soon cheers for checking it out 😉👊🏼

Surprised you prefer a low top in vert.
I think P Rod has changed the way people think about Nike. Before there were skate shoes everyone skated in Nike basketball shoes. Weird how the culture shifts back and forth. You are 100% correct about Vans.
New Balance is running the market right now, yet they are a big cooperation...
I have never tried an aftermarket set of insoles. I have pre-ordered a set of the Christian Flores insoles but really that was just to support him.
The Adidas Tyshawn's have always provided everything I need in a skate shoe. I like a good cup sole.
    Stay Rad Sir.

I definitely prefer high tops for everything, it’s just that I’m willing to accept lows for vert in favour of good strong toes because I smash my toes more than my ankles skating vert but given the ultimate choice I’d always go with highs.
I don’t really follow skaters very closely to know their brand endorsements and really just look at whether the product will work for me. The protection of the old school 80’s basketball high tops always made sense to me and I like the silhouette of dunks, airwalk prototypes, vision street wear etc, I have dunks and some new balance amongst many others I just haven’t got round to skating them yet (I’m a big shoe hoarder!) I always have to change out the insoles of any shoes I buy as they never have enough impact protection for my liking but cupsoles with a squishy midsole definitely have the best feel for me. 👍🏻 thanks for checking in 👊🏼

@@NeilHesterSkateboarding highly recommend the Adidas Tyshawn's. They are built to last.
I am currently skating some Con Fastbreaks. The have a wider toe box than the Tyshawn's but the Tyshawn's feels more secure. And I am ripping through the Cons pretty quickly.
I also have a lot of shoes. But most are every color of Tyshawn's. Recently skate the Lakai Telaford. That is the first low top I felt comfortable in.

@AdventuresInSkateboarding thanks I’ll consider the Tyshawns next time I’m looking but have so many to get through now I said to myself I won’t buy any more until I really need some. I have some Lakais but the soles feel too hard for me to use to skate, there’s just not enough impact protection and they are not deep enough to take the insoles I use.
