Crazy how you go through so many laces. Have you consider one of those trainers with a rubber flat over the laces. I think Andy Anderson’s new shoes has this cover that I’m talking about. Good luck with the glue… would be good to know how long it will extend the life of the shoes. Is it worth it? Another good video mate… super informative! 👊🏼
Cheers mate 👊🏼 You know what’s coming next 😜 but not quite that. Generally it lasts a couple of sessions and does extend the life of the shoes until something else wears out. It’s fairly cheap stuff so worth it compared to the price of new shoes.
No not deliberately to test the laces it just way safer to bail into a knee slide than try and run out from that kind of height, way better for my feet too 😂
There is a product called unbreakle laces or something sold by a UA-camr and skater Christian Flores. They looked pretty normal like regular laces, and apparently they last super long. I'm overseas and haven't gotten around to ordering them, but maybe I will get a bunch of local homies to split the shipping cost with me lol
I just looked up his channel, So they are not the same but his links are dead and so is the link to his shop, they look like nylon which maybe fors for street skaters, i'd be interest to try for knee sliding concrete if i could get hold of a pair.
@@NeilHesterSkateboardingthey are good laces and he just came out with an insole. Christian is great dude with an awesome channel. I asked him to send some laces to Kevin Nice Try and he did it no questions. Awesome dude.
@@NeilHesterSkateboarding if you google it it will come up. i haven't personally tried them. for those who have mentioned christian flores, i always assumed he was ordering these bulk from china and repackaging them
Don't use shoegoo. There's something better and it's a urethane adhesive. I used to use something called Aquasure, but I think it got bought out and is currently called Aquaseal. Shoegoo is a type of rubber cement, while Aquasure/seal is a urethane adhesive. Skaters regularly complain about shoegoo flaking and whatever else. The urethane adhesive stuff doesn't flake(as far as my experience goes) and often one use will make the shoe last until it falls apart in other ways than where you glued. It's actually nutty for people who can't afford new shoes all the time.
Thanks I’ll look it up, I never ever had shoe goo flake, it just burns through the same as rubber does so just behaves like rubber for me. There is a newer non toxic version of shoe goo available so maybe that one flakes , I don’t know but always good to know some alternatives. There is another one called RipCare that’s sold in skate shops here but it’s nowhere near as strong as shoe goo .

Did you make yourself slide out to test the laces😂. You are fully committed my friend.

I've seen the "ironlace" unbreakable laces which are the round laces i talked about, maybe its them?

Cool thanks I might try asking too 👍🏻
It looks like Para cord. (Used for Paratachute suspension lines)
No it’s not quite the same, I actually tried para cord and it just melted 😂
I bought similar laces. Use a reef knot instead of a bow.
Thanks I’ll give it a try
They make uhmwpe braided laces. It’s the same stuff cut proof kitchen gloves, skateboard rails, cutting boards, etc. are made of.
Who does ?

i posted a link but looks like it was auto-deleted?
@@diplenski ah yeah unfortunately UA-cam doesn’t allow links posted in comments.
