The pump used in this video is an ancient Bermuda 1000 lph and this is the newer version: geni.us/cmCj2 - a pump from this range would make a decent sump pump.
Having a venturi which delivers great dissolved oxygen content is very important and the design of the Grow Greenie venturis is excellent since it works on a multi-venturi principle - that results in a better dissolved oxygen content compared to standard venturis and air pumps / air stones.
Imagine how much difference that will make to fish which require good oxygen levels.....or fish which are recuperating after being ill....oxygen is life and the more oxygen the fish can assimilate the quicker the recovery will be.
I have no financial interest in Green Genie and I'm not paid to make videos - in fact I never have accepted a penny in payment for making videos as I believe it is important to be impartial.
However, I may look to distribute these venturis in the UK if that helps Gideon out in the future.

Excellent video, sir. I would love to see you do some experimenting with using these "in-line" on a sump pump. Not at the end for aeration alone, but fashioned into the return line to see if there would be an increase in head height / flow as seen in "Air Lift Pump" demonstrations I've seen used in aqua-ponics systems.
I doubt it would result in a higher head since the air is being drawn in by the water, not injected in under pressure but I'd wager that Gideon from Grow Greenie could answer that.

damn that's quite the coolest venturi ever and seems to be quiet ! / from my canister, i'm using an Eheim installset 2 return spray bar with 2 dedicated Eheim venturis, directed towards the surface for water movement... it's efficient, but it's quite noisy...

Yes the cost is a bit of a bummer but these are made in small batches and it's a bit of a process to put the 3D printed parts, pipes and fittings together as it is all done by hand .
If anyone sends you an odyssea cfs 1200, I’d love to see how you’d set that up because that canister is huge and it would be a challenge to clean for sure unless you use a prefilter booster.
I kind of want this.
@Pondguru Another great review! Thanks as always. Could you help me understand how this would work with the external canister filter return line? How is that line able to suction return to the filter with this attached?
The flexible pipe from the return of the canister filter simply fits onto the hose tail - 2 different sizes come with the venturi and i show them half way through the video. The venturi comes with 2 suckers to fix it to the side of the tank.

Very impressive. Might be a dumb question ???? but are there types that can fit to the return pipe from an external canister filter, and that shoots the water horizontally around the tank, rather than down ?
Eheim does a "power diffuser" which is a form of venturi
It can be rotated at the hose barb about 45-60 degrees when connected on the canister filter return. so it’s not straight down in smaller tanks

It can be rotated 45-60 degree at the hose barb. It doesn’t have to be pointed down in smaller tanks. But performs great pointed down in much larger tanks. That way it won’t blast the sand 😁

WOW, good stuff Richard. I love your DIY stuff your explanations and practicality. However, it's okay to talk in Metric cause the Americans are the only people on earth who haven't joined the rest of the world when it comes to logical measurements. They still using outdated German crap for the temperature and the old English pound and gallons and the fluid and the dry Oz. Just like you guys in the UK here in Canada also joined the rest of the civilized world when it comes to measurements. The funny thing is you can always confuse the Americans with it. Like asking 17 stones how many pounds is that or Oz? Or how many pints in 237 gallons? Or 1/2 mile how many inches or yard. Or 7 feet how many times 3/8 of an inch etc. They need calculators or papers and pens and most of the time they get them wrong. I just laugh my ass off at them and their dumbness. But let them steam. lol. I mean there is a conversion table just 1-2 clicks and you got it 100% accurate. On desktop on start-up and many places. We know the conversion in our heads cause all you need to know is the names and the conversion like 1 meter is 10 Decimeter 100 Centimeters and 1000 millimeters. The number never changes only the zeros cause it's not 12 but the 10 rounding works. Just as confusing is that idiot Bill gates when he made the computer's measurements and like 1 gigabyte is not 100 megabytes or 1000 kilobytes etc. Then you know the bite the bits. The pint and pitcher and quarts and so many in between. This is why the whole world adopted and used the metric logical system cause most of the time no need for a computer or a calculator. Especially if you are out in nature. Well, today they have the cellphone but if there is no signal many if not all Americans would be in trouble cause it's just no way they can add and convert without paper and pen even with that many can't they need electronic devices. They also spell it wrong. Meter and they spell it Metre or Liter they spell it, Litre. In Canada, we spell it the same way as any European like Meter and Liter etc. Good vid Richard. Let the Americans use their math skills or how to convert them. lol.
