thank you - I spent 45 minutes chatting with ADT today about this - they scheduled a virtual tech appointment for me tomorrow, but now I know that's unnecessary. I just ordered the battery from amazon - thank you!
This explained quickly and directly what was needed when there's nothing on the ADT site that shows up when you search, and chatting with an agent is useless because they, apparently, don't even know about this, and want to schedule a tech to come out after they sell you a battery (it'll be the wrong one, pretty sure). THANKS! (Now, my panel power wire goes up into the attic and mixes in with a maze of other wires, but that's a different problem :))
Thank you so VERY much!! Wish my husband and I had run across this before various phone conversation with persons claiming to work at ADT when we called. Thanks to you, no more low battery sensor. Appointment has been cancelled.
Excellent video. This was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. One question, I had was do you still put the system on test before you shut it down and change that battery. If you don't, won't you get the battery tamper alarm after you change it out?
just had a nice 30 min conversation with adt over the phone on this same issue and the dude kept telling me that its in the "foyer" now that i know what too look for the panel was actually installed in the master bedroom clost. 🤣adt over the phone tech support is a waste of time. thank you.
Thank you for the great video. 2 issues I am hoping you can help with following replacing the battery following your instructions: 1- I still get the low battery message on the ADT panel - does it mean the ADT panel itself should get a new battery? 2- I am getting a TAMPER message on the ADT panel since I changed the battery and I don’t know how to fix it Thank you in advance for your response!!
I am getting the same. I think it has something to do with the flip switch on the cover. Back to trying to put the cover on the correct way and get this TAMPER to go away
Hello. You video is really good. I bought the battery through your link. I changed the battery. No more low battery sign but now the control panel turn black intermittenly. Do you have any suggestion?
Can you advise where you got the new battery? ADT has no clue they keep telling me the batteries are in the contact strips and that my system doesn't have a panel box but I am staring right at it. there are no options to buy anything but a large 12 volt battery from them or one of the small battery wireless sensors from them and neither are right.
My question is about a low battery alert for my front door lock. I keep getting an alert (panel and email) that my battery is low on my door lock. I have changed the batteries a couple of times just to rule out that the batteries were bad. I am still getting the alerts, but I will get alert after alert saying low battery, end of low battery, low battery, end of low battery... over and over and over. To me it sounds like some kind of communication error, but the internet is fine. How do I fix this? Thank you for your help!
If you have an ADT system, you are being over charged. If you change companies after the contract, no other company can use the panel or sensors. They are locked to that panel. Now you must pay for all new. equipment.

Glad it was helpful!
I second this comment. Representatives at ADT claim I can fit a full size battery on each of those contact sensors

yes it does. check my other video for the ADT panel battery replacement
Great video, but 1 question: How do you turn on the control panel once you shut it down? Does it turn on by itself?
It turns on by itself.
@DeaninItYourself again, great video it was quick and easy to change out, thanks.
Thank you This video is what I needed to replace the battery since I have the old magnet type on my windows and 2 doors
Glad it helped

Where did you purchase your battery from ??
the link is in the description of the video. got it from Amazon
Change my battery on both master panel and this panel and still showing low battery
check the small battery that powers the sensors

Just installed another battery and still showing low
