Just want to thank you so much for your video on the fence upgrade. I have looked at many suggestions but by far, yours is the best. It has a majestic simplicity which is what I loved about your idea. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing. After all these years it is still the best and easiest guide. I added a T-slot to the side plate to attach the featherboard for a more accurate cut.
Thank you for your video I’ve completed my guard with your instructions and works well I did change slightly by adding a back stop for lock to pull against
Thanks for sharing, I made the modification according to your video, with some small changes, for example instead of wood on the sides use High-density polyethylene, also at the bottom.
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
I actually finished upgrading my fence exactly as I saw here, thanks. Only problem I can see with this method is "Sigma 40x40" what the aluminyum is called too heavy by itself, wood or MDF or whatever you add (I added MDF) makes it even heavier. I doubt the locking mechanism Makita has can hold up. I regret not buying the Dewalt job site for the same price.
Now you can't slide the fence back behind the blade for when you are docking off the slide table. Your idea is good but I would be using an Aluminum fence connected to that 40x40 profile so that you can slide it back.
I dont have an MLT 100 (yet), but maybe what would make the fence even better, how about attaching a block at the very end, sticking out downwards below the table surface. If it is mounted such that it is flush with the side of the table with the clamp undone, it would tighten up if you do the clamp, thus increasing stability and essentially making it a double supported fence.
I like how did you use the aluminium extrusion to make the fence because you can add stuff on it directly but i went with the version from lumberjocks because it feels more solid. Good work :)
Great fence.....can you tell me how you lined up the corresponding holes on both sides of the timber so they are flush with the wood insert and the profile?
good but the blade does not line up with the miter slots or the fence as you are cutting the back wants to lift because it is not lined up with blade. i have the same saw and it does the same
The best solution on you tube. The problem I have is finding that format of aluminium. I live in the south of Spain. Any ideas as to the type of place that might just have what I need? Many thanks
I didn't buy this table saw. I was watching some reviews here in youtube. This machine in my country is very pricey. To pay a lot of money and obtain this crappy fence, no thank you.
The most practical mlt 100 fence on UA-cam. Thanks bro.

The best one on UA-cam, thanks mate !
Those Aluminium extrusions are so versatile, well done.

This the best mlt100 fence tutorial. Thanks.

Very very good. Congratulation
Превосходно! Свой станок так же доработаю
so simple and looks so effective
The best upgrade as it’s useful and simple thanks 🙏

Good work :)
Thanks... and i use that extrusion because i got it for free :)
That's the best price ever ;))
Boa tarde simples e eficiente , qual altuta do calço inferior?
after all these years, can't believe that Makia haven't got this fixed lol
Don't see much difference from the original fence at all. The other end is still loose.
I dont understand what you have gained by this.. it will still flex? As its not held secure at the outfeed end?
Great fence.....can you tell me how you lined up the corresponding holes on both sides of the timber so they are flush with the wood insert and the profile?
Aluminium profile have 8mm wide grooves, the bolt are M6, so you have 1mm free space per side
for movement, thats all
good but the blade does not line up with the miter slots or the fence as you are cutting the back wants to lift because it is not lined up with blade. i have the same saw and it does the same
yeep ... i know. Everything in this saw in reality is uneven:) ...groves, tabletop..
Had the same but then I've watched wood whisperer clip on setting up new table saw and now I do not have that problem ;0)
An excellent solution, and what profile did you use?
40x40 mm Damatic group type 8- www.damatic.eu/aluminium-profile/profile-range-8/profile-40x40/#.WPolMkXyjs0

Many thanks
sean lynch-twomey banggood you can find
Great, but here we have, in Ukraine, this profile is difficult to buy: (
great idea and a very well made fence. Where are you from?
Jeszcze Polska nie zginęła...

doesn't improve anything, just makes it longer....still allows the fence to move
THANKS FOR YOUR OWN REVIEW
Na Wesley that aluminium looks way heavier and more
sturdy
“Safety First”??? Then why are you wearing a long-sleeved garment?

Und für was soll das gut sein? Das Original kann das besser. MfG.
