    Can you elaborate on the “click” fitting? You easily pushed the two inlet/outlet metal lines into the cooler, making that click sound. It looks like a straight pipe with an expanded shoulder? It’s not a flare connection, else you wouldn’t be able to push that in.
    I’ve got a leak between the brass fitting that line went into and the line itself so I’m assuming my brass fitting has a broken O ring/gasket. It easily clicks on, but I ’m not sure how the line comes off.
    Edit: after re-watching, I realize you had to have used the “scissor” tool, or the Assenmacher purple tool to disconnect it. You mention cutting the line and never showed using those tools.
    Thanks for the video, this has helped.

      I see you’re using that line removal tool in your line replacement video, which also explains that process fairly well too.

      Mr. Brewer, In an attempt to make the videos shorter, I made 3 videos, you should also see the other 2. Title and Link below. You are correct, on the bottom of the Cooler there are 2 Quick-Disconnects (different Part Number from the Radiator) and 2 Q-Ds on the Left-side of the Radiator. I listed the Part Numbers for all Parts and Tools in the video Description. The Quick-Disconnect Assembly uses a Ring Spring and an O-Ring Seal. The Spring must be pushed out into its bore to remove the Transmission Cooling Line. You are welcome, and I appreciate the comments! - Stiles

      @@StilesAutomotive I found a line disconnect tool and got both left (leaking) and right (working) fittings off. Thank you for that. I think the previous truck owner had trouble with it before. The O ring on the right side is orange and the left is black. It’s got to be leaking from that black O ring. The fastest shipping for any kind of fitting or whole radiator replacement from the Amazon links you helpfully provided are into February, and the local parts store wants over double the price.
      Assuming quick fix Im going to try to find an O ring replacement or wrap thread tape around the pipe. Hope that keeps it until the radiator comes in.

      @bluecanoebrewer 2 роки тому +1

      @@StilesAutomotive well would you look at that. I found a slightly fatter O ring with a slightly smaller inside diameter. I removed the old O ring from inside the fitting, replaced it with the fatter one and all is working. Thanks for the help! Great videos.

    So my cooler was damaged n need to replace it my question is how do you purge it?

    • @StilesAutomotive
      @StilesAutomotive  2 місяці тому

      Miguel, If you replace your Transmission Cooler with an OEM (Ford) Style replacement, you don't need to purge the Cooler. When you run the Transmission it will pump Fluid thru the Cooler and purge itself. You do need to check the Transmission Fluid level several times to ensure it is not low. - Stiles

      Dave, Nope, Sorry. If you have an F-150 you have 3/8" Cooler lines, if you have an F-250 most use 1/2" Cooler Lines. The Premium Assenmacher Tool (Shown) is 3/8" - Cooler Line Tool Assenmacher 8021 3/8" amzn.to/3dRlCet. The Lisles Tool is for both 1/2" and 3/8" - Cooler Line Tool Lisle 39660 1/2" x 3/8" amzn.to/3m9eeQ2. Thomas, A little bit of pulling on the Trans Cooler during the Cooler Line replacement (see other video) caused the already corroded, spot welded-on Bracket to come loose from the Cooler. The Cooler didn't look that corroded until you look at the back and bottom. - Stiles

      Mike, Yep, that's right the Transmission Fluid Cooler Lines run to the leftside (Driver's) of the Radiator and then to a Transmission Cooler similar to the one shown in the video. Some are Heavy Duty and some Standard. I don't know of any 2004 thru 2008 F-150 that does NOT have a Trans Cooler. Are you saying your 2007 F-150 does not? A lot of Ford Cars run the Lines to the Radiator only with no Cooler. - Stiles
